Mud splashed underfoot, fog swirling around and hovering just above the ground. In the distance smoke rose up, reaching for the gray skies above. Whether the smoke came from fires lit to keep his men outside warm, or if it came from buildings that might have been burned for reasons he did know, Theon couldn't say. The world around them was gray, as befitted a place like Winterfell. The seat of the Starks-- former seat. Winterfell belonged to the Ironborn now, to no other than Theon Greyjoy himself. Prince of Pyke, heir to the Seastone chair, and now Prince of Winterfell also. And he could be proud of his achievement.
The day before he had the people swear him fealty, and those who had refused were prisoners within their own homes. His crew would ensure that was were they stayed if Theon had no need of their labor. Right now it weren't the people he had need of, nor Bran, locked away in his own room. Curiosity tugged at the prince's mind.
Shortly before his arrival, a captive had been brought to a cell in this place. Reek they called him, the man's actual name already forgotten. Theon wrinkled his nose at that nickname alone, remembering the man's stench all too vividly. As much as he wished to avoid being faced with the horrible smell again, he needed to talk to him. Might be that his new servant knew things that would prove beneficial to Theon. He stopped after he spotted the other man, observing him for a moment before calling out.
