She couldn't believe they had actually done it. They had defeated a Diamond of the Authority and given every gem in her court their freedom. That did leave them with a new problem though as ousted dictators didn't just disappear. They would have to deal with Yellow Diamond's potential long term containment. It would have been so easy for them to just bubble her, but Steven had put his foot down on that matter. The Diamond was to be rehabilitated in the temple until she was ready for some semblance of integration into life on the planet and to that end, it was up to Calcite to help her.
The short gem sighed as she walked into the room Yellow Diamond was being kept, dragging a black board behind her and having a folding step under her arm. It was going to be a long day....
“Yellow Diamond? Are you going to take this seriously now or do you want to be stuck here forever?”
Lapis hated commitment that required her to stay on a certain pattern. Like many other fresh young adults, she wanted to be free to explore and experiment with her life. She hadn’t ever been given that option at home, and the few opportunities she had been graced with left her feeling rather unwelcomed to the idea of doing it again. She knew that better experiences had to be out there, she had just yet to find them.
Either way, she knew she would probably never find what she was looking for behind the counter of her register. She tapped away at her phone, texting one of her friends as she tried to pass time. The only good thing about her job was how dead it was at night, leaving her with the ability to be mostly alone besides coworkers. There was the occasional customer, but no large rushes or too much commotion. While she longed for freedom, Lapis really hated a ruckus. She would rather be relaxing at home with a drink in one hand, book in the other. Sometimes her ideal fantasies involved laying with someone, but she could live without that. Well, probably not. Her fantasies could live without that.
Lapis let out a sigh and put her phone back into the pocket of her jeans before running thin fingers through her dyed blue hair. She had tried her best to make it look managed, but her bob styled hair often had a mind of its own. She leaned back against the divider of her register, putting her arms behind her head as she ran her lips together, making sure her deep blue lipstick was still on. She closed her eyes for a moment, just hoping her shift would be over.

Blue Diamond is the second oldest of the Authority who thrived the era of turmoil, acting as one of the combatants who brought order to Homeworld. While she doesn’t fight any more, echos of her time as a Warlord still do come out- up until she suffered from extended malaise after Pink Diamond’s assassination. Still, the Authority as a whole usually appeals to Blue Diamond, and there are still very good reasons for this. She has the ability to project her emotions on to others, and it’s highly theorized that she used this ability to fight her way to the top.
Blue Diamond has summoned a weapon before, but she might have lost the ability over the millennia of being the head political figure of the Authority. There is a good chance that, with Blue Diamond’s physical ability, that she might have used close range weapons like claws, or broad clubs for defense.
White Diamond

White Diamond is the oldest Diamond, however, she missed most of the Era of Turmoil due to being an officer of the Fleet of our Lady. As an effect, she has never summoned a weapon.
As an Officer, she climbed through the ranks and rose to notoriety for her piloting skill. She also has a wealth of experience and skill using large swaths of information for building communication systems. These are the skills she eventually brought to the empire and the reason why she was established as the most influential Diamond. Most if not all information in the Authority passes over White Diamond’s systems. As an effect, she is seemingly omnipresent. However, she isn’t the most well liked Diamond. Her court likes her.
Yellow Diamond

Yellow Diamond emerged in the height of the Era of Turmoil. She was also the youngest Diamond until Pink’s emergence, which was well after Yellow and the other Diamonds established the Authority. During the Era of Turmoil, many other Diamonds were destroyed. Yellow Diamond was known for destroying them. She has the most athletic ability. While she no longer fights, she still spars; priming the Authority’s most highly skilled soldiers. At one point, once she got over her aversion to a new Diamond, she was training Pink. However, the younger Diamond never took her seriously. At the very least, the new Diamond was fast enough to avoid any ‘accidents’...
Yellow Diamond has no striking abilities beyond her strength and power. She can summon a weapon, a great axe and chain for defense. She is more feared than loved.

Pink Diamond is the youngest Diamond, therefore, she had very little experience. She also is known for things typically that younger gems are known for, but her most striking feature is her attentiveness (precision). She does have some abilities similar to Blue Diamond, her manipulative being one, but it’s not nearly at the level of influence as Blue Diamond. She does have some basic Diamond abilities (resistance to corruption, heightened constitution to high stress situations, hardness) but she hasn’t really cultivated a proper ability yet beyond hyper awareness.
Lapis wasn’t sure what she was doing at Jaune’s house. She hadn’t been invited and she was upset and shaking already. She had pulled up in her beat up van, threw it into park and leaned against the steering wheel. She didn’t know why she wanted to be with Juane. Well, she knew why she wanted to be there, she just didn’t know why she had driven there.
Lapis let out a sigh and slowly slipped out of her car. She didn’t even know why she started thinking of her parents and what happened at home. She didn’t miss them, she didn’t want to go home. No, she was panicking over the thought that her parents were so close and could easily find her at home. It was terrifying.
Lapis rang the doorbell and started rubbing her hand together nervously. She wanted to run away. She didn’t know what she was doing. She shouldn’t have come to involved Jaune in her problems. She hadn’t even talked to her crush about her past before.
Lapis looked down at her skirt, feeling excessively awkward at the thought of what was going through her head. She had had the idea to kiss her love interest quite a few times, always opting to stifle it rather than embarrass herself.
Today was different though.
Today they had ventured themselves to a little party, one suggested by Lapis. While she was fully aware of some of the immature asses at this party, she never expected them to corner her to do seven minutes in heaven. Despite her irritation at those stupid kids, she couldn’t help but also silently thank them. Being in a tight spot like this with this wonderful woman... It could have been the probably spiked punch, but Lapis was lightheaded.
A long moment passed before Lapis looked directly into Jaune’s eyes. She gave her half grin before reaching up and gently pressing her lips against Jaune’s more voluminous ones. She pulled away quickly, colour decorating her face in concentration. “I-I hope that was okay. I’m sorry. Maybe I should have asked?” She was a mess.
