Okay I was gonna wait to post the idiots together but I got too excited and thus I cast my light upon the fish legs universe
Ahoy ladies, didn't see you there! Would you guys like to set sail on this ocean of flavor with me? I'll be your captain.
Thank you so much to Drac and @jo-harrington for helping me out with my late contribution to MerMay.
I’m not dead. I’ve been taking my art seriously. I’ve been struggling. I don’t know who I am. I don’t have an artistic voice. I feel this constant tug back and forth between creating “serious” realistic art like birds and landscapes and making art that’s fun and colorful.
I know no one can tell me what kind of artist I am. No one can tell me who I need to be. But it would be nice if, just for once, a puzzle piece would fall into place.
In other news I am using a different cotton based paper and I LOVE the way it reacts to the watercolors.
Proof of life check. I’ve had cowboys on the brain
Where I left off on my coyote tonight. I feel like I could stop at this point but I’m not sure what I want yet.
Another little painting. Today is the first day I’ve had inspiration to paint in a long time.
This is the preemptive to a much MUCH larger coyote illustration. I never thought about doing them until my sister suggested it. I also went to dinner with my artists co-op last night to celebrate the end of our fiscal season. I sat between a bunch of ceramicists and couldn’t keep up with their clay talk, but one of them suggested I try this style of art again just because I like making it so much, and that if I want people to look at it, I make it the only thing they look at.
I miss having a storybook style. Some part of it makes me feel like coming home.
