There is something about how Dustin lashed out at Steve because he's someone who makes him happy, and he didn't believe he deserved that, so he hurt his friend while grieving. That is so so juicy for me. Like, it says a lot about Dustin's comfort level with Steve, but also how it's NOT a relationship that is founded on being equals.

But I love the contrast to Robin and Steve because I know Robin would never do that to Steve. Because they did start as equals. And they're much more in sync when it comes to morals and emotional maturity. These two comfort each other. That's the true beginning of their friendship, sitting on the bathroom floor making each other laugh.

And I like that contrast because it shows how different friendships develop. Like one becomes comfortable enough to inflict pain, while the other is comfortable enough to be vulnerable.

Imagine Steve doing the “first look” trend at his wedding where they prank the groom by replacing the bride with the best man, and he turns around to see Eddie when he was expecting his soon-to-be wife, and immediately starts sobbing.

Just. Going from giddy and happy to the absolute gut punch despair of seeing what he wants but can’t have.

Eddie is looking around to Robin for help in absolute panic, but Robin is frozen in shock. She’d known Steve had worked out he was bi but he’d managed to skirt around the who and why of it all so well she hadn’t even realized there was a guy he was in love with, let alone that it was their best friend Eddie. And this prank was her idea. She broke Steve on his fucking wedding day and now no one knows what to do.
