I can’t wait to see the freak nasty shit this website writes about he-man
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💜
Ooooh Sylvie I had to think about this one!!! Okok
1. I’m lumping Bisbee/Cochise together because they exist in the same universe. That series is my baby. I also have a T141 extension of this universe where they’re a cowboy gang on the table.
2. Stains in the Granite is my eldest born. Stains in the granite was the first time I realized I’m good at writing about grief and ugly feelings and how much it helps me get those out. This also sparked a whole universe between Drac and I. Their Cracks in the concrete and there’s a separate fic I’m working on called Static on the Line based off of Drac’s AU of my AU. I have no idea if it will ever see the light of day but it is very, very dear to me.
3. CAPTAIN SEEKS MATE my beloved. Simply because they are so so fun to write and because I LOVE yacht rock.
4. The Chemicals Between us is my Soap fic that 2 whole people have read. But it’s my most mature feeling in terms of the way I write and how comfortable I am with my voice.
5.) AllThat Glitters may also never ever see the light of day. It is a Nacho Libre AU with teacher Steve and incarnacion!reader except Incarnación is obviously not a sister. It’s been a lot for me to write because it requires me to both resurface my relationship with God after my experience in Catholic school and my experience as a teacher. Both of which were kind of hard for me.
Anything that those nutsacks had to deal with in regular show was WAY above their pay grade
I mean this as the biggest compliment. Your paintings remind me about a little fantasy I have about going out to the desert on my own and doing peyote. Just something I've been curious about. If I ever do go through with it one day and I see anything remotely like your paintings I'll know I'm having the best trip
Anon I’m gonna be so honest with you I’ve heard people talk about peyote and I had no idea what it was until I googled it and now I’m giggling.
I’m pretty sure I have one of these stupid little cactus in a pot in my yard and I’m laughing so stupidly at my desk thinking about going home and licking it and ending up like Candace when she touches the tree moss.
I hope when you do trip you see lots of fun little roadrunners and rainbow coyotes and you have the best trip of your life anon.
All of my recent pieces in one pic. Don’t @ me for not painting the sides of my newest ones. Mr flea is framing them for me.
these were the rejected ones
oooh I see a coyote of you own in the background and almost in the same pose too hehe
You mean this thing? The cryptid that haunts my house? She speaks plain English and cannot be deterred by toddler locks, round door knobs, or dog door sliding inserts. If she had thumbs she would be unstoppable. She came to me as a divine test or punishment. We think she might actually be part coyote. Her dna test said chow, German shepherd, pit, and shar pei. We think she manipulated the results prior to us intercepting them. We call her arms salad tongs.
I decided to take a step away from the coyote for now. Here is a smaller roadrunner I’m working on.
Your painting is so cool and I am so tickled by the animal heads wearing glasses on your wall😂
Ahhh!!! My animal heads!!!
Don’t look at my messy counters but I got all of them hung up this weekend. They are by an artist named Jessica Heimstra and I’ve been collecting them for a few years now!!
Where I left off on my coyote tonight. I feel like I could stop at this point but I’m not sure what I want yet.
I think this is where I’m stopping on my coyote for tonight. I think I’m going to go back in with the white on the bottom once I’m done filling it all in and make it a little more opaque. My mom said she really likes this one. I think I’ve always wanted to make fun art and have never let myself do it.
Adrian is Penelope from the Odyssey except nothing is stopping them from throwing hands at annoying suitors
Flea, your painting is so beautiful!
Thank you!!
I started my new big coyote piece today. He looks a lot like my dog. (Attached below is a pic of her for reference.) it’s been a long long time since I’ve felt inspiration. I’ve talked about struggling with my style before and it’s because I want to make fun storybook art, but I can’t help but feel like I’m undermining my ability or something by making something more illustrative.
I think this stems from an art teacher that I had (actually, really one of 2 that I had in high school. I’m primarily self-taught) that really pushed realism because I was good at it. A lot of people tend to place value on realism because real=good to most basic standards. But I like the challenge of making a balanced composition, and creating color cohesive palettes, and developing a voice, and establishing visual storytelling. I think I’m going to take this summer, now that my co-op season is over, and use it to push this style again.
Another little painting. Today is the first day I’ve had inspiration to paint in a long time.
This is the preemptive to a much MUCH larger coyote illustration. I never thought about doing them until my sister suggested it. I also went to dinner with my artists co-op last night to celebrate the end of our fiscal season. I sat between a bunch of ceramicists and couldn’t keep up with their clay talk, but one of them suggested I try this style of art again just because I like making it so much, and that if I want people to look at it, I make it the only thing they look at.
I miss having a storybook style. Some part of it makes me feel like coming home.
Immense gratitude
