Round #1 — Match 25 of 42
Fleche von Bergliez
"she feels so painfully young in the worst possible circumstances. all that grief and anger and desperation wrapped up in somebody who is very much not equipped to carry it well at all"
vs. Gilbert Pronislav
"GILBERT......... oh this man makes me TIRED in the way only a well-written character can because no i do NOT think he’s easy to like all the time and that is exactly why i find him so compelling. he is frustrating!! he is repressed to the point of self-sabotage!! he keeps making choices that hurt the people he loves because he genuinely believes removing himself is somehow the more righteous option and it’s like sir PLEASE get up off the floor and go talk to your family!!! but that’s what makes him interesting to me. he feels so painfully like a man who has built his whole life around duty and guilt and doesn’t know how to survive being a person outside of that. i love characters who make me want to shake them a little. unfortunately he is one of them"
"gilbert is such a rough one for me bc i’m not sitting here like “aww my fave little guy” exactly, but i DO think he’s a really good character. like he frustrates the hell out of me, but in a way that feels intentional and real. he’s so stuck in his own guilt all the time and so convinced he has to suffer nobly instead of just doing the actually hard thing and reconnecting with his family. and that makes him hard to watch sometimes, but also pretty memorable. i always appreciate characters who feel this messy and specifically human, even when they’re making me want to yell at the screen a bit"
Who should win?

Inked and coloured in a bunch of minor and one note characters I drew from various Madoka Magica spin-off manga in celebration of Magia Exedra's release date. Had to make up colour scheme's for the witches as they are only in black and white as is Lame the girl in all red from Tart Magica. I purposely kept Fleche's magical girl colour scheme uniform blue, as I sadly couldn't find her official colours. I nicknamed the witch on the top right, Mrs. Fingers and the witch on the bottom right Squiggles since they currently have no official names. :(
I love all of these chumps dearly. :D
I.
