Fleure being lowkey afraid of Vallis because he's never encountered an eldritch horror before is so fucking funny to me
Fleure rarely wears his cape and hat anymore since he's kinda gotta be normal in the modern era (which is why he was given new clothes to begin with), but whenever he's required to Do Wizard Things And Look The Part, he summons them magical girl-style
no he doesn't know what magical girls or anime are
I forgot that Fleure stays at Tuuya's cavern sometimes, and I pictured my semi-feral teenager Varoll seeing him and being jazzed at seeing another seadweller there (bonus points for being the same caste). She would ask him a lot of questions and comment that he's really pretty.
Fleure will typically leave whenever Tuuya has visitors so he's not in the way, and because he knows they're friends with and have rainbowdrinker children and he's a walking buffet for vampires. The last thing he'd want is to incapacitate one of their kids because they attacked him and he had no choice but to defend himself.
But if they did meet, he would probably think Varoll is very annoying, but can't be rude to her if she's one of Tuuya's wards. So he is trapped by polite social convention answering all her questions and hoping Tuuya will find him to take her off his hands LMAO
I confess I do like writing when Arty Says Things.
If the wizard theme wins for the 12th Perigee Ball we all have to make a collective effort to make Fleure attend so I don’t draw Velour for like the fiftieth time
Probs won’t write anything for it unless I get an idea, but Fleure is assisting Ullane in providing aid to the injured in Civitrecce
He’s keeping to the Wellspring cuz he doesn’t want to draw too much attention to his magic and to avoid Zelaya because he kinda regrets being an asshole to her a while back, but has also been making bandages infused with his own magic that help soothe aching wounds and accelerate the healing process. Might occasionally pop outside to hand out water bottles to people too
Velour has the capacity to become an extremely powerful mage, but is limited by his current inexperience (and lack of confidence) and the fact that his powers go a little on the fritz when he pushes himself too much. That, and he’ll inevitably reach a point in the future where his magic will completely overwhelm him, as troll minds are not made to comprehend the total omniscience that kitsune magic forces upon them
Linnae is similarly limited by their inexperience, but doesn’t have drawbacks like Velour does aside from the standard ‘cannot cast any spells that lie outside their domain’
Mikiel’s powerful psiionics are offset by the amount of harm and destruction they cause, so Miki considers himself to be only useful in situations where you Need Things Dead. He also still has some control issues, though he’s stabilized since his time at the fae realm
And Fleure is undeniably the most powerful, but he knows his limits far better than anyone else. He isn’t going to even try any spells that are outside his domain because it’s pointless, hell you’d be hard-pressed to get him to try anything new because he’d scoff at the thought that you know his magic better than he does. He practices new spells on his own accord. Also, if he doesn’t respect you, you’re not getting his help. There are very few trolls he respects
realising that Fleure probably knows how to cook but doesn't know how to use an oven or an electric stove because he was just using magic back in the day (via Ephrey creating fire-conjuring charms)
