Fleure being lowkey afraid of Vallis because he's never encountered an eldritch horror before is so fucking funny to me

Fleure rarely wears his cape and hat anymore since he's kinda gotta be normal in the modern era (which is why he was given new clothes to begin with), but whenever he's required to Do Wizard Things And Look The Part, he summons them magical girl-style

no he doesn't know what magical girls or anime are

If the wizard theme wins for the 12th Perigee Ball we all have to make a collective effort to make Fleure attend so I don’t draw Velour for like the fiftieth time

i joke about Fleure bumming around and being a freeloader wherever he goes but he actually has been Doing Shit sometimes

mostly at Kaningard where he takes care of the bioluminescent moss so now all the tunnels are adequately illuminated, but he'll also return any grubs who've escaped their nests back to the cavern workers (because grubs, like animals, love to flock to him) or tries to distract them with his magic. he makes little water dragon constructs for them to chase around and tire them out so they'll behave and conform to their nap times

he's a bit less helpful at the Wellspring if only because no one wants him on medical duties unless there's absolutely no one else around, but he assists with cleaning / sterilising medical tools and makes sure Ullane isn't working herself too hard

for both locations he hunts the local wildlife to provide food as well. he's not as conscious about maintaining the ecosystem or cares about hunting humanely as linnae is, but he's very efficient. why care about that stuff when you have magic. he casts Super Drowning Spell

and of course there's his chickens. he loves those goofy guys so much

Fleure, if you had the option to go back into dormancy, would you? Or do you want to see what this new world has to offer, now?

=> He snorts at that question, dry and sardonic but almost amused by the thought.

"There is nothing this world has to offer that interests me, it all pales in comparison to the world I once knew and belonged. Yet, to choose returning to a thousand sweeps of dormancy, alive yet lifeless, neither awake nor asleep? Foolish. An utterly foolish suggestion."

Fluere, how do you feel about not being able to shift? Have you grown used to the absence of it, or does it feel like something is missing?

=> His fins flick in a manner that may seem like an indication for irritation, as this is something that is frequently on his mind and he dislikes being reminded of his curse, but his expression is more... Contemplative. Melancholic, perhaps.
