That was when Devotion and Scream appeared. Devotion was beautiful. While the others were kind to the victims of Gotham, giving comfort in the unnerving but - as Gothamites had come to view them - endearing ways, Devotion was gentle and caring. Devotion lived up to its name. Loyal to its other parts to a near-fault. But it was also the first Component to be… more than one thing. While Devotion was its stable and common state, god help you if it got angry. It made a beautiful amount of awful sense that Devotion would also be Destruction. When the Children were threatened and taken, it was the first time Devotion became Destruction and ripped through the Gotham underworld to find what it called its own. The devastation left in its wake was felt for months. What’s worse is that everyone knew it was holding back.
