Atopic Dermatitis

**Caused by environmental stress of genetically compromised skin

**May begin in first few months of life (face, scalp, diaper, etc)

**Older children and adults: flexor surfaces, wrists, lichenification, ill-defined symmetrical plaques

**Personal or family history of atopy

**Follicular prominence common in darker skin. Post-infection hypo or hyperpigmentation.
