Flickerstick: Pistol In My Hand (Official Music Video)
I could be the drug you can’t resist
Finally back at my Airbnb now and a hell of a day in the best way possible lmao. I’ll have a longer trip report for Great America in a few days but in short, ended up getting a fast lane to skip the long lines and that was definitely the right move. Rode everything I wanted to ride and I’m now at 199 credits hehe
But!! That’s not the only thing we did today, because WE SAW FLICKERSTICK LIVE !!!!
Again I’ll probably have a more in depth post abt this later this week but holy shit what a crazy show. It was at a small venue so it was packed and LOUD lmao. But it was an awesome show!! They played all of their first album, Welcoming Home the Astronauts, plus a few other songs from other releases to start out! They played 20 songs total and all of them were great!
The one thing I wish was a bit better was their sound mixing, since it was pretty hard to hear the lyrics at some points, but beyond that, fantastic show!! So so glad I was able to see them live!!
My favorite song they played was You’re So Hollywood (seen above) both bc the energy was fantastic and also bc like,, that’s the Kickflip song! That’s his theme song !! So now I’ve seen two OC theme songs performed live! You’re So Hollywood and Learn How to Surf from the Owl City concert I went to a few years ago! Of course it’s Kickflip and Seabreeze, that just makes it funnier in my head lmao
But yeah wow, 12 coasters ridden at Great America AND ending the day with seeing one of my all time favorite bands live, all with one of my best friends, holy shit what a day [very positive]
In honor of the Artemis crew's return to Earth, I recommend giving a listen to Flickerstick's album Welcoming Home the Astronauts :3
what's your favorite bit of the last song you listened to?
The last song I listened to was Execution by X-Mas Lights by Flickerstick
My favorite part is probably the line “It’s time go out / And scream it from the top of the moon / One more time”
Though to be fair X-Mas Lights is a song I listen to more for the feeling/emotion of it rather than the specific lyrics
This was a fun question to think about tho thank u for sending it! It just so happened that the last song I listened to doesn’t work as well for this as others lmao
Oh yeah also I listened to the songs from Flickerstick’s newest album for the first time in a while the other day. They did grow on me a bit from my initial listen (Compromise especially that one’s easily my fav) but I’m still kinda cooler on the album as a whole
2001, summer, before 9/11. There was a show on VH1 called Bands on the Run, some reality competition show between bands, closer to a precursor to The Amazing Race than a precursor to American Idol.
Flickerstick won, their album was great.
I worked my internship job during the day, I ate reasonably healthy, I went to bars at night, I listened to this type of music, I was happy.
