“I’ll be so glad to try those strawberries when I’m not grumpy as a snareweed plant,” Ro chatted as she and Fawn trekked through the forest back to their wild berry patch. Not their patch, but the one they had gone to once before, on the day Rosetta had tried frog-back riding and ruined her shoes. She’d been too unhappy to properly enjoy the moment, but this time would be better, she was positive.

Tink peeked into the open area where lessons where taught, tucked between the roots of a tree and shaded by a wide leaf. Fingers sinking into the soft moss that covered the bottom of the tree, she looked around and startled to see another fairy in the room. Her wingbeats, in time with her heart, returned to a steady pattern when she realized that the pixie in her way was Fawn and not Fairy Mary. Fawn wouldn’t get her in trouble. Still, she didn’t want anyone--even a friend--to catch her in the act of stealing.
Sidling out into the open, she put on a wide innocent smile and greeted the other. “Fawn! What are you doing here? We don’t have a lesson until after noon.” She headed to the toadstool desk where she usually sat and pretended to be picking up a pencil she had accidentally left behind.

“There’s nothing seriously wrong with him, is there?”
Rani hovered around the softly-cooing Brother Dove as well as she was able to without getting in Fawn’s way, taking the time to wipe at her eyes whenever she wasn’t asking worried questions. A sprained wing was no fun, and she felt all the worse for the injury since it never would have happened in the first place if she hadn’t called for the dove to pick her up!
RIP
{what my muse would say at your’s grave}
Vidia lingered behind after the other fairies had flown off. Her eyes traced over the small memorial that had been made; various animals had dropped off acorns, leaves and so on, making it look more like a pile of rubbish than a grave site. And yet, it seemed rather fitting.
In all honestly, the two had never been particularly close. Then again, Vidia tended to keep to her self. But she had liked her more than some of the others. Aside from her tendency to bring harmful animals near Pixie Hollow, she had a strong head on her shoulders/
Vidia would never admit t, but she had always thought that Fawn would have made a decent fast flyer, if she had wanted to. Not as fast as her, of course. But Fawn had always been true to her self, giving her passions and heart away entirely, whether that meant laughing at a silly joke, or risking it all to save a friend. Vidia never quite understood it, but a small part of her envied the animal talent.
“Fly with you, Fawn,” she mumbled softly, her hand tracing over the inscription softly before she quickly turned away, flying int he direction of her home without so much as a second glance.
