“Really, Aaron, thank you for inviting me over.”
Their relationship started out a rather rocky, but Laine couldn’t deny the fondness she had for him. So when he invited her over to his place, she couldn’t decline. The two headed down into the basement, Laine dressed far more casual than she did when out in public. A loose t-shirt, exposing her scarred muscles, ripped jeans, combat boots. Normally brushed-up hair was down and unruly, curling around her ears and hanging in her face.
“Oh, didn’t know you had a pool table!” She grinned as she picked up a pool cue and expertly twirled it in her fingers--it was a little heavier than a spear, but she could handle it. “Would you believe me if I said I’ve never actually played before?”
