Salt River Tubing In Arizona
Check out our guide to Salt River Tubing in Arizona.
When it starts to get hot in Arizona, it’s time to hit the water. A great way to do that is by tubing down the Lower Salt River. In addition to cooling off in the river, most people end up seeing either wild horses or other smaller animals on their trip down. Overall Situation Update: The Wavetops
There was a glimmer of hope at the beginning of the week when the temperatures were low and there was some rain in the forecast but the end of the week and the weekend changed all that. Hot air temps continued and the rain didn’t come. Temperature readings on the upper and lower river were in the high…

Rant #2 - July Memories
What an amazing weekend. Seriously, I am so proud of myself for making the most out of every day this July. June was a bit of a slump as I rediscovered some favorite video games and as I had to recover from such a busy 1st half of a year, but now I’m going hard again and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. So now, let me rant a bit about how awesome my July has been - and it’s only 1/3rd of the way over! I hope to actually create a memory page at some point and hopefully this will help a bit.
4th of July Weekend - Not as glamourous or adventurous as some of has been in the past, but it was succesful non the less. Lots of rain and no plans make for drinking and game nights all weekend long! Friday I chilled by myself, playing ogre battle 64 and watching dead by daylight streams. Although I complained that I was bored, I’m glad that I had that day to relax before the rest of this month hit. July 2nd I joined Brittany and Devon and Greg for a game night and met Josh and Taylor and learned how to play DC Deck Building Game - a game which I owned and forgot how to play. July 3rd I played DC Deck Building Game, watched Dead by Daylight streams, and drank Schlafly’s Summer Ale all day long with my cousin Joanne. I joined Erin and Joe and co that evening for a chill game night and some wine. Repeat July 3rd during the day for July 4th, and then I went to play MORE DC Deck Building Game with the Clips and Co. The only time I got to see fireworks at all was on my drive home, but honestly, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It was a satifying weekend none the less.
Tuesday, July 5th, was a day of rest before the fires of hell were poured upon us. Or heaven. Depends on your point of view.
July 6th. I took vacation this day to go to six flags, but it got rained out, so I chilled and went to trivia night instead. On this night, Pokemon Go was released. I downloaded it at the bar, not mentioning it to anyone I was with because I didn’t think they were the type of people who would play something like this and I thought that Pokemon Go was going to be a bit of a disappointment and going to die out quickly. The next couple of days were rough with the servers. It was mostly me restarting my app constantly rather than me catching pokemon at all. Very steadily the hype started to grow more and more. It wasn’t just among my friends anymore. On the first couple days it came out, I didn’t see anyone playing it at all, possibly due to the lack of servers, but that quickly became the opposite.
In the midst of the pokemon go chaos, I did many other things - viewed, applied, and got approved for my apartment with Sarah; played shuffleboard with Meghan, Sydney, and Michelle; hosted my final porch party (which I will say was a complete success!); Six Flags with my family - and then I got serious. Within the next couple days, I gained about 10 levels. Saturday the 10th, I went hiking with Shelby and wandered around with her the rest of the day to catch and explore. I even fell down during the hike and got a nasty looking cut on my leg (it wasn’t actually very bad at all, but everyone we passed thought I was a BA pokemon trainer because of it). Monday the 11th, I hung out with Josh and Wes to hunt on Main Street. This was both heaven and hell with the amount of Pokemon players - at least 100 on this one corner. Tuesday the 12th, I went back to Main Street with Holly and Diana and Greg. Wednesday the 13th - a bit of a break from Pokemon - I went to the pizza party at the Post and the new arcade bar with Elle (it was a bit disappointing, but maybe I’m too critical). Thursday the 14th, I went to the game night at Schlafly’s with Josh and Holly and also hung out with Taylor/met Kaci, Nick, and Eric - all awesome people that I really want to hang out with again soon! Of course we hunted Pokemon after that too. Friday the 15th, there was a Pokemon bar crawl at the Grove that I went to with Elle, Debbie, and Ethan, and Tim met up with us too. This was a beautiful night too. One of my favorite moments was just driving through the deep night, music coasting us along, hands out the window. It was one of those beautiful summer moments.
Which brings us to this past weekend. Saturday I went hiking with Ava, and since the servers were down, I just spent it enjoying the beautiful day and nature around us. After a crazy week, I took the best nap in the world after this hike. I then met up for dinner with Hanna and Vassa and Evie and went to go see Young Frankenstein at the Muny - Holy shit. This was so good.
Sunday though was a different thing entirely. I was so nervous about going on a float trip for the first time - I tried to do everything I could to prepare. I, of course, woke up late and had to run out the door the morning of, but it was perfect and chill after that. All of the people I went with - my trivia night people, The Post Peeps - were so much fun. I’m so glad that I got to get closer with all of them and I can’t wait to hang out with them more. My favorite part was just floating in my life vest, being pulled along by the raft. It was like laying in a hammock, just staring up at the clouds in the sky. I could seriously do that all day. And the water was crystal clear - you could see every rock at the bottom. I couldn’t think of a better first float trip to go on.
To pull the weekend to a close, Elle and I went to Llywellyns on Main Street and hunted pokemon.
I love my crazy life so much. I love living life to the fullest every day. If there is every a day that I can find someone to keep up with my pace of a life, I am sure to be the luckiest person in the world, because I’m not convinced that is possible.
The next 2 weeks are sure to be absolutely crazy, with pokemon and packing and - holy shit - gishwhes. Expect another one of these rants soon. Maybe after gishwhes is done and I’ve finished moving.
Gotta keep living my wildest dreams. <3
