we ended up going outside earlier (probably not a great idea with how we've been feeling physically over the last few days but oh well) and saw how bad some of the nearby flooding was and our mum's just been out for something so I guess now we get to find out how much worse it's gotten over the last 4 hours
Hey all, I’ve been wanting to compile a resource post regarding the current situation at home. When I say home, I mean the province British Columbia, on unceded, ancestral, and traditional territories of First Nation peoples of the following language groups: Wakashan, Salishan, Ktunaxa, Tsimshianic, Haida, Dene, and Algonquin.
BC is flooded, with sudden and heavy rainstorms in the last week and at present has flooded many communities near the southern interior of the province. Highways are destroyed by mudslides, roads, farmlands, and homes are flooded, rivers are rising above the banks, and evacuation orders have been made for towns that have yet to evacuate. Here are some organizations you can donate to if you can, but if not please spread this around!

There was a big flood, just like in Noah's Arc, and Jesus came down from the sky. I chaperone Jesus towards our family shop at the front yard and when we got there, he was shot by yodelling, cowboy hat wearing Americans, and I slammed myself to a wall to wake myself up.
I was under a waterfall and suddenly got washed over by a loud flood, turns out it was the sound of the toilet flush irl which woke me up.
It had rained so much that the water level went above my house, and despite me not living in some place where this would be common for, there were a bunch of fancy fish swimming around my window. I kept trying to ask Siri questions about the fish but Siri kept answering with jokes and was speaking mainly in Spanish. I took out my phone and started recording the fish with the flash on and a bunch of sharks came because of the light so I got scared. A hammerhead shark slammed into my window and Sigourney Weaver said it was time to wake up.
Most of the dams in the US are privately owned by billionaires and companies who failed to maintain them.
Prime example is The Edenville Dam in Michigan had collapsed due to failure of maintenance in 2020. I had seen it at the first hand. I am from the tri cities of Midland, Bay City and Saginaw area .
The private owner of the Edenville dam is trying to get out of paying repairs of the dams, residents who lives in Sanford who lost everything in the collapse by filing bankruptcy.
