What would you be like offline?...Chaotic. super fun on road trips. Probably down to just blare music and sing off key the whole way. Cracking epic jokes. But then being totally down to just crash at a hotel or AirBnB for down time when we get exhausted.
Wow, this sounds super fun. We should totally road trip and I'll show y'all how to drive down country roads at 70mph with only your knees on the steering wheel.
FLORA HELLO! happy trivia tuesday :) i love aesthetics, and yours are always amazing, so if you want, what’s your process for making your aesthetics for your characters! maybe for someone like my queen miriam 🥺
Hi Shannon! Always a pleasure and, of course, we are here for some Miriam content.
Okay, I usually start off characters with at least one or two themes, time periods or a general color palette that makes scanning pinterest a little easier.
For Miriam, I had 1910s-20s, WW1, and red. Those were my first searches. As the character progresses, I usually start finding other facets of her personality or her story that can be added.
Once I have my main theme, I start combing through the Pinterest feed. (The key is to put "aesthetic" after every search😂)
When I find something I like, I download it to my thumb drive and I keep searching. I will often collect photos, quotes, and stuff that I vibe with for weeks before making my first aesthetic.
I make them using Canva
(are there other sites you can use? Yes. But this is the only one I am familiar with so....)
and just upload nine photos as a time that I think would look good together, or really embody my character.
For Miriam, it's red, crows, skulls and any dark colored Slytherin quote.
I mess around with brightness and stuff but I usually don't do too much to the actual photos. My process isn't too fancy, just a lot of searching and a lot of patience.
I usually send the in progress aesthetics into my discord server and @julianneday1701 will make a few suggestions that just add the extra sparkle. (If you like my aesthetics, all credit to Julianne :^)
I love making aesthetics and it's so therapeutic. I'm actually in the process of making another for Lady Blood as we speak😅

Ahhhh Easy and Zhanna. Bit of a rocky start. They will definitely warm up to her sooner than Sveta. If you wanna know, like friendships and relationships, I'm afraid I want to keep it all hush hush.
Spoilers, you know?
But Zhanna is NOT the best of pals with the main crew (Luz, Liebgott,Toye, Guarnere, Bull, Martin, etc.)
As already stated in the chapter, and by my co-author over on her post: Zhanna is cute and small and quiet. Which makes people want to save her, even when she isn't the victim of a situation. Her cuteness will make her an easy target for misplaced trust and defense.
Anything specific? Is there some chemistry that we shall see grow? Will Zhanna really shoot Sobel?

Getting more into Tumblr during quarantine and more into writing has shown me what art can do for people. Its kinda amazing. And there is a whole post I could dedicate to that but i probably never will.

For ALD I really pushed the two faced nature of Virginia's character but I never had like, a specific theme. I did place a lot of emphasis on names and nicknames.
For Under The Banner is just the fire and ice difference between Zhanna and Sveta. Zhanna is always described as cold. In more ways that one. And I'm really excited to use that.
Lady Blood, uses red to describe what Miriam is running from. She is haunted by red tones and it's so fun to play with different descriptions for that.
Oh and crows. Look out for crows.
