oh my dear Florence, one of the two "main characters" of my next gen (probably will end up as more than two but ya know) I adore you so

Florence is the daughter of Amy Pimling, well, one of her four children. Florence was raised by Alpha Pimling, (who even took his wife's last name when they married to appease her and her dad more). Alpha adores Florence, despite quickly figuring out that she was faarrrr from his kid.

Florence herself got away from the family a couple years after her mother divorced her adoptive father. Alpha and Amy split their kids for 50/50 custody, and that's about how split the kids are towards their parents too. Florence and her sibling, Stevie, lean more towards Alpha personality wise. Mackayleigh and Joey are both Amy's prodigal child, male and female. Florence...struggles with her siblings and family.

Which is why, once she was able to start college, she moved away. With her Uncle Pim. The most...functional? of her delusional family. At least, she thought he was growing up. After his divorce...less so... and it's becoming more obvious.

She distracts herself with her college classes (fashion design) and her waitressing job. She works at a cafe across the street from her Uncle's work, The Smiling Friends. They're all regulars. She loves her new life, but struggles with day to day things due to her family undermining her confidence her whole life (minus Pim and Alpha ofc) but she's trying!!

Pim got a divorce? Why? What is he like after the divorce?

I didn't see this before posting Sibyl, but funnily enough almost all these questions got answered in her introduction but ill elaborate some! Jennifer and Pim: Jennifer and Pim got together after Jennifer and Shrimp had an ugly, very one-sided, break up. Shrimp was happy with his new girlfriend, but still extremely hung up on Shrimpina, even getting ahold of Pim and Charlie/The Smiling Friends again to help. Jennifer and Pim started to get to know one another better, but Pim felt incredibly guilty the entire time because his feelings towards Jennifer resurfaced. Jennifer, on the other hand, was very comfortable leaving Shrimp for Pim. Jennifer did *not* let Shrimp down easy. She was incredibly blunt on why she left him. For a man who was hung up on her, not another woman. They dated for about a year before Pim eagerly proposed to Jennifer, which again, loving how into her Pim was, she accepted. Pim and her had her storybook wedding, paid for by Pim himself. Afterwards, Jennifer revealed to Pim she wasn't sure about having a family, causing him to pre-maturely crush his dreams of a large family. Pim struggled, more outwardly than he liked to admit. Jennifer caught on, and it caused some issues between the two. Then Jennifer got pregnant. Unexpectedly. They started their family after that, stopping after their third child. They had their three kids within about five years of one another, and Pim took care of a lot of the child rearing. But, when it came to everyone picking favorites (for shame, but they did) Jennifer picked their eldest and only son, Guy. Pim spoiled his children to pieces, struggling to say no to anything. Every tantrum was inadvertently rewarded. (ex: please stop crying, ill buy you that toy instead!) That's the why to a degree, that among other issues I'll expand upon. But Pim post divorce wasn't great, at least for the first year. He was a shell of his former self, only his work and best friend, Charlie, were able to keep him afloat. Since his children weren't around, Sunshine and Guy stayed around their mother and aunt- Sibyl stayed away from everyone. When Florence asked to move in with him, he pulled himself out of the gutter and remade himself. Now one of the top performers at the Smiling Friends once again, him and Charlie support the office with (Pim's) go getting attitude! (totally not breaking down on the inside at alll)

Taking a small break from Pimling posting- I figured since Charlie was finally mentioned, I should start introducing his kids- starting with his eldest! Meet Stan Zachary Dompler! He's the eldest of Zoey and Charlie's kids- and he spends quite a bit of time with his father, as Stan is also a Smiling Friend. Head of the IT Department, in fact! (Also, an official smiling friend, but everyone forgets it just like they did with Allan) He's quiet, enjoys his alone time, but also values companionship and comradery! Which is why he joined the Smiling Friends in the first place- issue is they shoved him in the wall. Well, where that used to be. It's actually a room now. (Thank fuck) His Uncle Pim hangs out with him pretty often, and Izzy, the Boss's assistant. Usually when she has nothing to do. In the mornings he spends his time at the Cafe near the office, that Florence works at. He has a small crush on her best friend, who also works there. Only really ordering coffee and the occasional small breakfast. He's too nervous to talk to either of them, seriously, at least. He doesn't want to make them uncomfortable, as he's seen how uncomfortable his father makes women. At least, most women.

so, there's a running trend in Florenceverse.... the trend being that the men in this universe are garbage and that I want to hit them with a Ford F150. To start that trend, we have Pim's eldest. Guy Pimling. Guy Pimling loves bitcoin. He loves podcasts, and reddit and calling himself an alpha male. His boy mom, Jennifer, encouraged this subconsciously a LOT. Pim is the accidental cause of him not being able to hear no. Again, Guy is garbage. He runs his own podcast where he promotes toxic dieting culture and how to be an "alpha male," (he was around Uncle Charlie too much...) he might actually get a significant following if he admitted to being gay though. The closet is glass, buddy. But, he denies it through and through. I'm probably going to post another next gen to make up for this fuck won't lie lmaoooo

Finally, we have Pim's youngest child, Sunshine Felicity Pimling. Pim will never outwardly say he has a favorite child, he wouldn't dare, but Sunshine and everyone around her know that she's his favorite. Youngest daughter + girl dad... yikes Sunshine is spoiled and has rarely heard the words no. (If she did hear it, tantrums followed) She struggles with doing things herself and is massively entitled. Her mother really struggles to tolerate this quality about her (and Guy, but she lets it slide quite a bit more with him) The main thing this girl does is gossip, shop and mooch off her dad. While doing those things she's often with her best friend, and partner in crime, Mackayleigh Pimling. (Her cousin) Her Aunt Amy adores little miss Sunshine, and sees her as an extension of her own daughter. Sunshine is happy to spend time being a Plastic with her cousin and aunt, though she thinks she's Regina George...

Sibyl Ravenleigh- or Sibyl Pimling, legally at least, she was reasonable when changing her name... well, maybe not reasonable but aware of how sensitive her father, Pim, is about most things...especially family. She loves her mother and father, a lot, she just doesn't love being in the same room as them. For any period of time if she can avoid it. Her father has always been adoring and loving and kind... but never disciplinary. Not that Sibyl needed it, moreso that her siblings did... and Pim and Jennifer never consistently disciplined either of them. This caused a lot of resentment towards her siblings (and unconsciously, her parents), especially when neither of them choose to be kind people whatsoever. Pim tries everything to keep his family together in Sibyl's teens, when things clearly start falling apart. Jennifer filing for divorce over parenting differences (and Pim's familial trauma causing long term problems) and Sibyl moving out before she turned eighteen really caused Pim to spiral for a long while. Now, with his niece, Florence, living with him- he's been revitalized! Combined with Florence being Sibyl's favorite cousin, she's been more inclined to spend time with her father.
