Here’s a fun bird I tried so hard to capture last year and finally got a good shot of this January, a Belted Kingfisher!! As their name suggests, they are great fishers, flying along waterways and diving for fish once spotted! Their calls are distinctive once you learn them but they fly so fast it can be hard (for me) to get good pictures of them unless they are perching 😂😅💙 . . . Dinner with a great egret.
GREAT EGRET. A resident of our wetlands and this one at the lake in my back yard.
Orange Bird is the Word.....
Like many large wading birds, once the little blue heron reaches full adulthood it will have very few predators. In the wild, little blue herons have been observed fleeing from Harris hawks!

American crows can build complex tools to overcome multi-stage problems, a capacity once thought limited to highly intelligent mammals like primates and cetaceans (whales and dolphins).

Glossy ibis feed by lowering their bill into water, mud, and soil and using it to feel for prey items and often flock with other wading birds like egret and herons.
