Tarzana (fin/us/be) Tarzana is the collaboration between Spencer Clark (Monopoly Child Star Searchers) and Jan Anderzén (Tomutonttu), joined live by Floris Vanhoof (Floris Vanhoof). They are touring in support of their recent LP "Alien Wildlife Estate". According to the press release, the music is “engaged as a Fruitopian vision of a rescattering of all elements within an International Airport to be presented as Audio exhibit!” We couldn’t tell you what that means, but it sounds amazing. For the past 20 years Jan Anderzén has been the main pilot of the band Kemialliset Ystävät. Tomutonttu is a creature who looks after all the dust and in a solo mode Anderzén makes the music of Tomutonttu audible. A detailed close­up of music, a microcosmos of strange sound events and dirt flying around in stereo space, interacting with a logic all of their own. Spencer Clark is using top­-of-the-­line music imaging keyboards from the 80's and 90's to produce hallucinations of Past and Present Juxtaposed Eras, Far­Off exotically composed tropical maladies, and wondrous inner­-outer Ouspensky driven Fourth Dimensional Landscapes. After having collaborated with James Ferraro in the Skaters, he went solo as Monopoly Child Star Searchers, amongst countless other aliases. His label Pacific City Sound Visions has ejected Cassettes, Lp's, and Private Movies for the past 8 years. Floris Vanhoof connects his many worlds, ideas and influences into highly personal live performances and recordings, He keeps on amazing people here and abroad with his combo-style of both highly-original visual performances and oddball modular electronics. -- Red Brut (NL) Red Brut is the solo moniker of Marijn Verbiesen, who also plays drums in primitive no-rock trio Sweat Tongue and handles the vocals and synth work in electronics duo JSCA. As Red Brut she records and plays (back) crudely edited tapes. Underneath the noise and hiss of degraded flea market cassettes, you may recognise the sounds of a Korg MS10, small keyboards, ethnic instruments and other (domestic) objects. Not so much structured chaos, but more chaotic structures. JOOKLO DUO

(IT) Hard-hitting tenor sax & drums duo / High-energy free form jazz

Jooklo Duo is the hard-hitting tenor sax/drums duo of Virginia Genta and David Vanzan. 

In the past seven years of restless activity, the couple has toured the US and Europe extensively, performing around five-hundred concerts with their high-energy free form jazz. Jooklo Duo have collaborated with Sonic Youth, Chris Corsano, Paul Flaherty, C. Spencer Yeh, Bill Nace, and many others.

In 2009, they also began working with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, performing on October 2010 for “Nearly Ninety” at the Barbican Centre in London, together with Takehisa Kosugi (Taj Mahal Travellers) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin). For their performance at MiMa they're stripped right back to the pure skronking duo, hitting Rotterdam after finishing a residency in Belgium.

Christian Hansen working with sound, 'happy accidents' and public spaces / Presenting new video 'Excursions'

Christian Hansen (209) is a student at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. He mainly works with sound and public space but sometimes also plays guitar and synth in free form band The Joseph Boys. Everyone who saw him performing his "Keyboard-Skateboard" piece at Worm last October just couldn't wipe that big phat smile of their face. No doubt they'll hurry their ass to Roodkapje the 15th for some more happy accidents, surprising sounds and a fresh video work (in progress) called 'Excursions'. For his audio based performance Christian will bring some brand new samples, recorded in the Süd Tyrolian Alps. They will form the basis for an improvising piece about being in two places at the same time.
