Just happened:
*lady walks into the shop and looks around for a second*
Her: Do you have red roses?
Me: *points them out* yup right in that cooler.
How many were you looking for?
Her: I’m not sure, can I pick my own?
Me: To avoid broken merchandise (including flowers) we usually don’t let customers pick their own flowers
Her: Oh well some flower shops actually let me pick my own
Me: I totally get that, but it’s just something my boss is big on.
In my head: THEN FUCKING GO TO THOSE OTHER FLOWER SHOPS IF YOU WANT TO PICK YOUR OWN SHIT I’M NOT GETTING IN TROUBLE OVER YOUR HIGH MAINTENANCE ASS I DO THIS FOR A LIVING SO STFU AND TRUST ME TO PICK OUT BASIC ASS UGLY RED ROSES!
Teleflora: $25 dollars including delivery fee to deliver a huge arrangement to the other side of the state
Us: We need at least 20 more dollars to fill this order.
Teleflora: okay please cancel the order
Teleflora: *sends same order again thinking we won’t notice*
HOW AM I ORDERING FOR MOTHER'S DAY-
IT'S THE WEEK BEFORE VALENTINE'S DAY AND THE OLYMPICS HAVE BEGUN which means i will be living at work, watching figure skating replays after work, then falling into bed and getting up and going back to work again for the next week or so.
so like don't be surprised if i post nothing, i'll just be living in flowerland and trying to survive until then 😭
(and watching lots of ice skating because it's literally the only thing i care about with the olympics)
sometimes being a florist is it being hours after you've left work and you've done a bunch of other things since then but then you bump your hand just right on something and you realize you've got a thorn splinter in the back of your hand somehow and you gotta get that one out at least because there's no getting out the three other microscopic ones embedded in your fingertips so you wanna deal with the one that you can
I need to do 2 more arrangements but I only have time to do one aaaaahhhhh
