Love in many different ways.
my boredom activity is doing redraws of way old art, so have a couple of old homestucks i did recently! you can tell my designs for the characters have evolved with the art style, lol
(new, then old)
Some OC doodles I’ve done recently. Trying to work on something I could potentially make into a webcomic!
First off, an illustration of a trio of fools.
Second off, I’ve fallen down a hole of character design and fine-tuning and something that’s talked about a lot but is still really helpful in making fun-looking and dynamic characters is SHAPES! Just use shapes!
It’s true that it’s easier to do so in a more cartoony style, but it doesn’t have to be! I’d like to say the way I draw human bodies decently realistic (I’m still learning, ha) but I can still use simpler shapes to differentiate between them.
Another thing one can look for, especially in groups, is having a variety of shape and color in characters. Since these three are specifically a trio, they have that distinctive stoplight aesthetic so that it works well together. Also note that having dramatic clothing like Hana’s skirt or accessories like Abatan’s bag can help accentuate shapes where the body itself can’t. Making groups of character designs that compliment each other can be as simple as having groups of complimenting colors or shapes.
i am a sucker for large healthy friend group who over time begin to understand each other fundamentally and become found family
snuggling and watching a movie with the bros, aka the perfect night.
