It takes everything within Zuko not to go back to Katara’s room.

He can still feel the ghost of her skin against his fingertips, the warmth he’d felt in the crook of her neck as he’d breathed in her scent, and the way that she’d felt with her chest pressed flush against his. It had been thirty minutes now, and still, that fleeting moment played on a loop in his mind, the memory of it causing pleasant tingles down his spine.

It’d taken everything in Zuko not to deepen the press his lips against her neck or pull her body in closer. In his sleep-addled state, he’d not even been mindful of the way his lips brushed her skin as he whispered his goodnight, or that the way he’d squeezed her hips could have been interpreted as a promise of a lot more than a parting embrace between friends.

It’s probably for the best that he left when he did.

His mind recalls the way that her blue eyes had darkened when they parted and the shiver that’d wracked through her body from the words he’d pressed against her neck. The memory teases Zuko’s hopes and dreams. If it were any other girl一if it had been Song, or June, or hell, even Mai一Zuko would take the sign for what it was: obvious attraction. He may even have acted on it, fully pressing his lips to their neck and dragging his hands across their backside. But this is Katara and, truthfully, the idea of Katara being attracted to him is scary. To even consider it is dangerous, and in the encroaching darkness, it is all that Zuko can think about.

What is your favorite and least favorite angsty trope? Go! My least fave is when one half of the couple dies and the other half turns out to be pregnant at the end of everything. My absolute fave is a couple that loves each other; it's cute, healthy, all that. But, something like being separated in parallel universes, or some curse, or obligations makes it impossible for them to ever be together.

I’ve got to say that my least favorite angsty trope is anything that involves major character death. I tend to shy away from fics like that, mostly because I live for happy endings lol. If I know that I’m being taken through a journey between two characters just for one of them/both of them to wind up dead….I don’t want it. I think one of my faves is secrets. Secret relationship that the friends/family don’t know about; a secret baby that was kept hidden from the father in fear of his reaction or because he was taken away (ex. Draco getting out of Azkaban to find out that Hermione had been pregnant with his child before he was sent away). Of course those types would have to have a happy ending as well 😂

Amber - What's something you do every day?

No lie, nothing too adventurous lol. I work a 7-4 so definitely go to work everyday and spend hours thinking about how I can make the next marketing piece look different from the last one.

Cardigans - Favorite Autumn Colors?

Olive green, marigold, coffee browns, and brick red colors! It helps they're colors that I buy the most of when autumn comes around lol.

Frost - Anything you're looking forward to?

A vacation! My s/o and I are planning a trip next month, but COVID is slowly encroaching on normal life again where I'm at, so it may be a trip where we spend a lot of time looking at the inside of our room lol. Either way, it'll be a nice break from our city.

Macabre: you have peculiar interests?

Honestly nothing that I can think of at the moment. I'd say my interests are pretty common and that I share with my friends/family/SO so i've never seen them as peculiar.

Novel - favorite book?

🤧Let me go ahead and make a list. There is no singular favorite lol! I have yet to go back and read any of these books for a second time, so they're more like my favorites of this year.

Five things that make me happy.. Hm…

1. Words. I don’t know but I have a fetish for words. Whether it is written or sung, it makes me feel happy and like somehow the person who wrote it is talking to me and we have this small connection. Weird, I know.

2. Books. They transport me into a new world which may be temporary (or fictional.*cue in sad tears*) But it is nice to have someone (fictional) to relate life with. Sigh. Books are life.

3. Friends. I mean, friends with flesh and bone and blood and fun. From my personal groupies (Olympians, as we call ourselves) and to internet people that are around the globe (that I don’t get to talk to that much because I’m too shy). But you guys are awesome. And you make me happy.

4. Family. Where everything started.

5. Life. Life makes me happy. It is like you are another human being given such opportunity to savor all the happy and sometimes bad things, but along the way, we get to experience and appreciate the beauty of it.
