Have you heard of the term “Karen?” According to Wikipedia, “Karen is a pejorative term used in the U.S. and other English-speaking countries for a woman perceived to be entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is considered appropriate or necessary. A common stereotype is that of a...white woman who uses her privilege to demand her own way at the expense of others.” 🙅🏻♀️ Social media posts about Karens have been appearing with increasing frequency here in the U.S. 🇺🇸 Maybe you’ve seen a photo or video example? Many show a defiant and argumentative woman in a store, for example, refusing to wear a mask. It’s a choice whether or not a person wants to wear one. 😷 Masks can be uncomfortable and make it hard to breathe. 🙊 But It seems to be a small inconvenience, especially if it helps stop the spread of COVID-19. 🦠 The likeliness of a return to normal life looks far off in the distance unless a vaccine is developed, and people are willing or able to be vaccinated. 💉 Meanwhile, the only thing that looks like it would be helpful is if we work together to reduce the spread.🌎 🌍 🌏 What do you think about wearing a mask? 👍 or 👎?
