I must confess a mild fear of this blog is sanitizing Flowery to the public- he has flaws and does things I don't agree with. He's to forgiving to Asgore, hes avoidant and ignorant thinking that being nice will be enough to stop Asgore from committing LITERAL MURDER

He trusts the power of friendship TOO MUCH

He deified Asgore, he's uncomfortable with his kings goals but doesn't push him as much as he does with the fun gang and It's fascinating to me.

He's manipulative when it comes to happiness, he can be retraumatizing, he's self rightous and actually WRONG about some things (mostly the nature of the Grand Fountain and the fact its the only known source of pure darkness, sealing it could mean INSANE AMOUNTS OF BAD SHIT) He's focused on his own dream as much as he's focused on others, he's SUPER CONDESCENDING

IDK just some flaws I want more Flowery fans to think deeper on!! BECAUSE FLAWS ARE FUN!

I love how many different characters Flowery tries to embody in his goal to be this perfect companion for Asgore. Obviously Rudy is the most prominent, but he also initiates activities that invoke the idea of his kids like the cowboy show. At the same time, he directly parallels he and Toriel’s current dynamic outright. But despite being in Asgore’s usual position of the dynamic he still tries to emulate Toriel, giving him the pie and having the Chairery. He’s the long time best friend, the admiring son-figure and the doting partner but also none of these things specifically. He’s Asgore’s Family. He wants Asgore to get to have all of these things all at once, and he wants to be able to provide any type of care he could need. Drives me CRAZY.

YES YES YES YES. I also have the idea that Flowery is unconsciously emulating all the ideas of love he's ever seen (whether it be familial, romantic or platonic) and trying to give it all to Asgore in the hopes it'll "fix him"

He's seen Asgores toxic obsession with being proven right and holding onto the past and sees it as love, he's seen the genuine care and affection from Gorey and Tori's marriage and sees it as love, he's seen the bonds (however flimsy) Kris and Azzy have with him and sees it as love, he's seen the deep profound friendship between Rudy and Goregore and sees it as love.

Its all Love to him, and he wants to be everything for Asgore in the way he was Everything for Flowery.

Insane that in flower years Flowery (and all the flowers) are fucking hundreds of years old?? Like they were only supposed to live for like a week MAXIMUM but they've been alive for at least 20 years??! THATS IMPOSSIBLE TO FATHOM

THEY'VE LIVED ABOUT 1,000 TIMES OVER THEIR LIFE EXPECTANCY

Oh fuck the dark world was probably the first time Flowery and the rest of the gang got to see the sun since Asgores wedding. They only got to see the sun because of the window in the front of the shop. The sun they haven't seen since their only other day of usefulness.

Do you think they see the sun as their only days of truly living?

he immediately fell in love

In more ways than one. The line "blue is love and love has multitudes" has stood out so dearly to me this chapter.

He loves his fellow flowers, he treats them with respect and care, never once did he call out and call them traitorous for not fighting you. Never did he blame them, he asked them to protect Asgore and they all did it willingly because they love him.

His love for life, his love for being, in seeing others joy. He loves freely and openly, the only times he doesn't are when his love is threatened, and even then... he still cares for Kris, for Susie for Raly even when you take the joy hes been yearning about for years.

And of course there's Asgore, who his only wish was to see smile after seeing everyone leave him. He wanted to repay him for all the years of care, of love he was given. He was only meant to live for one smiling day but Asgore loved them in ways unseen by anyone else outside of the fun gang. He talks to his flowers, he sees them as his own love.

In conclusion he makes me sick

Ough remembered that golden flowers are canonically poisonous- what if Flowery was worried about lightners touching him in fear of poisoning them accidentally ??? What if he only touched clothed parts and refuses to have his hand held (and if they do he makes sure they washed their hands)

What if was mindful of his proximity?? Careful with every movement and slightly steps away from each touch.

OMG UR A BIG FAN OF HIM TOO????? THIS IS SO AMAZING ( ≧∀≦)ノ the minute i saw him i knew right away he was my REAL favorite deltarune character... he's so amazing..

THE BEST TO EVER DO IT! I've liked characters before but none like Flowery and OMGGGG ITS SO MUCH FUN!!!

He's everything I love in a character, kinda cocky, funny asf, deeper lingering sadness that is rarely if ever acknowledged, doomed unrequited yaoi, SKATEBOARD, vocal stim phrases, a constant smile despite it all, a deep profound care for his friends and loved ones, a tragic but still fitting ending, AMAZING CHARACTER INTERACTIONS, not always being in the right but still understandable
