it was a lazy, cold sunday. you and your boyfriend locked in your shared apartment, laughing and watching series, tucked under the covers with fuzzy socks and matching pajamas on. yapping about everything and nothing at the same time. how hungry you were, how cute you both looked, your future plans, your future family, your work, your projects, your cravings, everything.
talking had always been easy with wooyoung. he didn’t hold back, so you didn’t feel like you ever should. he always made you comfortable with being yourself, unapologetically so. do you feel the need to be loud? be loud. need to be vulnerable? be vulnerable. need alone time? have all the time you want, my dear. he’ll be here when you feel better. so, if at almost 9PM you say that you’re craving apple pie, he’ll simply jump off the bed to make it for you, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead and smiling sickeningly sweet in your direction, heading to the kitchen without giving you a single chance to protest.
except a few minutes later, when the clanking and clacking of the utensils had stopped, his call was clear for you.
“baby? would you come here for a second?” you jumped out of bed, sliding in the shadow the hedgehog themed slippers he had bought for you before pacing lazily to the kitchen, finding him with his cooking apron on, shirtless and with a knife in his hand as he diced up the apples. ”can you tie my hair for me?”
he requested, earning a giddy giggle out of you, who nodded and looked around for a hair tie, positioning yourself behind him. gathering his hair in a low ponytail, you kissed the nape of his neck before tying it properly, giggling as you watched him shiver. that encouraged you to place another kiss there. and another, and another, hugging his waist from behind and nuzzling your face in between his shoulder blades, laying a soft kiss on the naked, soft skin, still with a few scratch marks from the night before.
“i love you,” you mumbled, deeply inhaling his natural scent, ”so much.”
he smiled, waddling around the kitchen with you glued to him, ”i love you too, baby. so much.”
well that was a short one! thank you all for reading, i'll see you next time !! <33
부인 성명 (disclaimer) : read at your own risk. there is going to be fluff and angst themes. NOT PROOFREAD. written for shawty bae @choisanswife.
something about hitting the road with the love of your life was so comforting. san even planned the entire trip, he wanted everything to go just right. you were a little nervous, but only because san wanted to do this the old fashion way. no gps just a good old paper map and you were given the duty of navigator.
“alright the car is all packed up and ready to go, are you?” he asked as he rounded the car and over to the passenger door to open it for you placing a kiss on your temple. “yes, but are you sure we can’t just use a gps?” you questioned with a shy little smile. “oh i’m sure, if we get lost then we do. i won’t mind because i’d love to get lost with you.”
about two hours into the drive you two were having your own carpool karaoke moment. you were both singing along to the playlist you had going on. his voice was obviously better but the two of you were just enjoying the moment and you were using your water bottle as a microphone. you had to pull out your phone to document this for your friends and his friends. you posted it to the story that you titled “roadtrip with sannie” and then looked down at the paper map.
“okay so we are going to be on this road for awhile it seems like.” you didn’t notice at first but there were little hearts on the map around certain spots and you arched an eyebrow. “what are the hearts for?” you peered over at your boyfriend who had his eyes focused on the road. “surprises.” he responded, taking your hand and bringing it to his lips to place a kiss upon the back of it. “you just have to get us there baby.” as if that didn’t make you nervous or put any pressure on anything.
after another twenty minutes you two made it to the first heart on the map. when you got out you noticed it was a cute little park, much like the one you met san in. the memory brought a smile to your face. it was also good to get to stretch your legs since you’d been in the car for a little bit. you heard music coming from a speaker a little in the distance and you listened just a little that is until you noticed it was your favorite song. “oh i love this song.” you said turning to look for san, but he wasn’t behind you. he had wandered off. “san?” you headed off to look for your boyfriend only to find wooyoung instead. “woo what are you doing here?” you walked the rest of the way up to him. “here this is from san. you can’t open it just yet though.” he handed you a wrapped box. “it’s only one part of the gift so you have to wait until you get to the rest of the hearts.” he grinned cheekily then just walked off.
that was odd, but you looked behind where he was and saw on the picnic table a lunch set out. san walked over now with a grin, taking your hand. “for you beautiful” he motioned the the picnic table. you gave him a little look and then sat yourself down at the table. “what exactly are you planning choi san?” you narrowed your gaze playfully at him picking up some food and taking a little bite. “you just have to wait to find out. i promise you that it will all be worth it. you saw wooyoung and got your gift right?” he said it so casually and you held the little box up. “yes i did.” the two of you continued to eat until you got full and he finished off the rest of the food.
you two hit the road again and were off to the second heart on the map. you had put the gift in the backseat even if it was secretly calling for you to open it you had to ignore that. another hour and you two had made it to heart number two, you were pretty proud of yourself as navigator too because you haven’t gotten lost. the two of you got out and this time it was a coffee shop, just like your first date. you went inside and found yeosang with another gift, san sent you in alone. you came back out with your favorite coffee drink and the gift. “you are so extra.” you laughed a little as he opened the door for the car for you again. “oh i know, but you love me.” he smiled and pecked a little kiss to your lips before you got back into the car. two more stops and you found jongho and mingi at these stops with more gifts. gifts you couldn’t even open yet. they were just staring at you from the back seat.
“san what are in all these gifts?” you finally asked because now you are just looking at the piling up gifts in the backseat. “you will see baby, you just have to be patient. we only have two more stops” he grinned cheekily as he kept focused on the road. you let out a little huff and looked back to the map directing him as needed until you made it to the next stop. this one was an amusement park. san told you he loved you for the first time at an amusement park, you remember because you were not expecting it and it helped to calm your nerves on the rollercoaster. standing at the entrance were hongjoong and seonghwa waiting with a gift and cheeky smiles.
“alright, alright hand over the gift that i can’t open.” you held your hand out. “oh no this one you get to open.” hongjoong replied. your face must have shown the shock because they both let out a little laugh and looked to each other. san came up behind you and hugged your waist with a little nod. “yep this one you get to open. i figured at this point you’d be getting annoyed with the ones you can’t open so i have to toss you one.” you elbowed him for the comment, but smiled as you opened up the gift to find a hoodie. not just any hoodie but the hoodie that san told you that you COULDN’T steal. “wait are you for real? it’s mine now?” you had a little evil grin on your face. “yes, all yours baby.” he placed a kiss on your temple and you pulled out of his arms to slip it right on. “hell yeah.”
you two spend a little bit of time at the amusement park and go on a rollercoaster then head back to the car. only two more hearts on the map and the last one is the destination you two were trying to reach anyways. “i’m guessing we are going to see yunho at this next stop, correct me if i’m wrong.” you joked lightly considering you’ve seen the rest of his friends on this road trip. “you are quite inquisitive, nothing escapes that keen eye.” he teased and you nudged his arm.
you were right though because when you got out there yunho was with a gift for you and a smile. you took it and thanked him, this spot had a big beautiful fountain and you tried to think back to moments with san since all the other locations were related to something special in your relationship then it hit you and your cheeks flushed. you two went to an event together and while you were in your dress and him in his suit you two ended the night splashing in the fountain in front of the venue. it was so much fun and it was the first night you two slept together. “you really thought of everything huh sannie?” you said as you turned back to look at him and he was just stood there admiring you. “well i am a romantic when it comes to you y/n.”
you guys made it back to the car and it was time for the last stop and you felt butterflies in your stomach over it. the last stop was a beach that you two picked out forever ago saying you both wanted to visit. he made everything about this trip so perfect and you loved him even more than you ever thought imaginable. when you pulled up at the beach you smiled and went to get out of the car but he stopped you. “you can open all the presents now but you have to do it in the hotel room, then meet me on the beach okay?” he had already checked in on his phone and it was a digital room key so now you had it too. you looked confused a moment then nodded. you took the gifts and walked to the hotel room, setting it all out and as you opened each gift you realized it compiled into an outfit. each gift even had a little letter in it written by san explaining why he picked this out for you. you looked at yourself in the mirror and san really knew your taste because you looked great in the outfit.
it was getting dark outside and you could see the sunsetting on the beach as you walked out of the hotel and looked around the beach trying to find san but instead you found a candle lit path and your initials in roses to the side. you made the executive decision that you were suppose to follow this path so you did, walking along until you reached the end where san was stood waiting. he had changed too and looked so good in his button up suit. “y/n, you look even better than i could have imagined.” he said softly as he took your hand and pulled you to himself. your stomach felt like it did a backflip. “you don’t look bad yourself.” you said then placed a small kiss to his cheek. he gave you such a loving smile before he kept ahold of your hand and took a little step back. “i’ve been waiting to do this all day.”
you couldn’t believe your eyes but there choi san was getting down on one knee in front of you and pulling a ring from his pocket, his one hand still holding yours. you felt the tears spring to your eyes already and he hasn’t even spoken yet. “i wanted today to be perfect and go through every moment of our relationship because i want to keep making memories with you y/n. forever, i want you to be mine. so will you let me hold you and be yours for the rest of our lives? will you marry me?”
you were trying so hard not to cry, happy tears of course, but they kept falling anyways as you nodded a bunch. “of course san!” you let him slip the ring onto your shaking finger and he stood to embrace you in a kiss and that’s when you heard the clapping and hooting and hollering. when you pulled back from the kiss you saw all his friends there cheering you on and recording the moment. “oh my god.” you laughed slightly as you hid your face in his chest. “come on guys.” san called out but he was smiling too.
a/n: this took me longer than i thought it would take me. i did not proofread either so don't sue me. hope that you all enjoyed. likes, feedback, and reblogs are always welcome!!

You had just given birth to your newborn and were lying in the hospital bed, exhausted but happy. Wooyoung sat beside you, his eyes fixed on the tiny bundle in your arms. He was looking at the baby with a mixture of awe and adoration, a small smile playing on his lips. "She's perfect," he whispered, gently brushing a finger over the baby's soft cheek.
"Can I hold her?" he asked, looking up at you with hopeful eyes. You nodded and carefully handed the baby to him, watching as he cradled her in his arms. Wooyoung held her gently, his touch soft and careful as he gazed down at her.
"Hello, little one," he cooed, his voice soft and loving. "I'm your daddy." He rocked her back and forth, smiling widely as she opened her eyes and looked up at him. "She has your eyes," he said, looking at you with a tender expression. "And your nose."
You smiled back at him, feeling a swell of love in your chest as you watched him with the baby. "She's got your chin," you pointed out, reaching out to touch the baby's tiny face. Wooyoung chuckled and looked down at the baby again. "I guess we'll have to wait and see who she takes after in personality," he said, bouncing her gently in his arms. He continued to hold her, looking at her with such adoration that it made your heart melt. It was clear that he was already completely smitten with their daughter.
As Wooyoung held the baby, you watched as he started to hum a soft tune. The baby stirred in his arms, cooing softly in response to the sound of his voice. Wooyoung's face lit up with joy as he looked at the baby, clearly thrilled that she was responding to him. "She likes my singing," he said proudly, glancing up at you with a grin.
"You're going to be a great dad," you told him, feeling a sense of contentment wash over you. "I can already tell." Wooyoung smiled at your words, his eyes shining with emotion. "I'm going to do my best," he said, looking back down at the baby. "I'm going to love and protect her with everything I have."
He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on the baby's forehead, his heart swelling with love for both you and your daughter. "I can't believe we made this little miracle," he whispered, his voice filled with awe. You reached out and placed your hand on Wooyoung's arm, feeling a surge of affection for him. "Me neither," you said softly. "But I'm so grateful that we did. This is the best moment of my life."
Wooyoung looked at you with a tender expression, his eyes filled with love and adoration. "I feel the same way," he said, squeezing your hand gently. "I never thought I could love someone as much as I love you... and now, our daughter too." Wooyoung continued to hold the baby, rocking her back and forth as he hummed a lullaby. The baby began to fuss, letting out a small cry.
Wooyoung immediately stopped humming and looked at you, slightly panicked. "Is she okay?" he asked, his voice laced with concern. You chuckled and reassured him. "She's probably just hungry," you said, gesturing for him to hand her to you. "I need to feed her." Wooyoung carefully transferred the baby into your arms, watching as you began to nurse her. He sat beside you, still looking a little worried.
“I hope I'm doing this right," he said, watching the baby feed intently. "I want to be the best dad ever." You smiled at him, touched by his concern. "You're already a great dad, Woo," you said, patting his hand. "Just being here and loving her is enough." Wooyoung relaxed a bit at your words, a small smile spreading across his face. "Thanks, Y/N," he said, reaching out to brush a strand of hair out of your face. "I'm just so happy right now. I never knew it was possible to feel this much love for someone."
He leaned in and kissed your forehead, his gaze drifting back to the baby. "I can't wait to see her grow up and watch her become the amazing person I know she will be." The door to the hospital room burst open and the rest of the members piled in, carrying a variety of gifts and balloons.
"Congratulations!" they all shouted in unison, their faces lit up with excitement. Wooyoung looked up, a wide grin spreading across his face as he saw them. "You guys made it!" he exclaimed, standing up to greet them. The members began to set up the presents and balloons, chatting excitedly among themselves. Hongjoong stepped forward and handed you a large bouquet of flowers.
"Congratulations, Y/N," he said, smiling warmly. "You did an amazing job." The others echoed his sentiments, each one coming over to congratulate you and coo over the baby. You smile knowing not only did you just bring a baby into your own family but theirs as well.
Ateez reaction to their partner having a praise kink

Kim Hongjoong:
You were in the middle of a make out session, sitting on Hongjoong’s laps as his hands were roaming over your back.
You bit his bottom lip a little and started moving your hips against his. A groan left his throat and he looked at you, dazed.
“Oh you’re so good baby, you drive me insane,” he said with admiration in his voice.
His words had a huge effect on you, more than he could ever expect. You moaned at his declaration and started moving faster on his growing bulge. Hongjoong’s eyes lit up as if he just had a revelation.
“W-wait, you like that, don’t you?” he asked.
“What?” you asked in return, acting clueless.
“When I talk to you like that,” he kissed down your jaw, “when I tell you how I feel about you, about how amazing of a person you are and how good you make me feel.”
You hid your face into the crook of his neck, unable to face his expression at that moment. You simply nodded to agree with what he said. A chuckle left him and he stroked your back soothingly.
“Well it is all true, and you deserve to be told all those things every single day, sweetheart,” he held you by the shoulders so that you were looking at him, “and I will make sure of doing so myself.”
Hongjoong was geniunely pleased with that side of you and wanted to do his best in making you happy that way.
Park Seonghwa:
The sound of the doorknob and keys made you turn your head from the tv screen only to meet a tired-looking Seonghwa. He let go of his bag, took off his shoes, and quickly joined you on the couch with a deep and loud groan.
The sound took you off guard, turning you on against your will. You slightly rubbed your thighs together as you looked at your boyfriend, whose head was thrown back against and eyes tightly closed. His parted lips looked very plump and welcoming at that very moment.
Another groan left him as he readjusted his position and let out a long sigh.
“Can you stop starring at me,” he suddenly said, his eyes still closed.
“What? And you, can you stop making porn noises?” you replied.
Seonghwa cracked one eye open, side-eying you and scoffed before opening both eyes and completely turning to your direction.
“Porn noises? What are you, fourteen?” he asked with a raised brow.
You got up and stuck out your tongue at him. As you walked right in front of him, he took held of your arm and drew you closer to him, making you straddle his laps.
“Hello, darling,” he finally greeted you with a small peck.
“Hi handsome,” you brushed his hair back.
He hummed and let his head fall against your hand.
“I prefer you like that when you behave well and do your best to please me,” he admitted in a low tone.
You felt yourself blush and getting more aroused, so you began wriggling a bit on your spot to get up from him.
“Hu hu...” he tsked, “where do you think you’re going? I know how much you like when I talk to you like that, so let me take it further and please in return.”
Seonghwa was not a bit surprised about your kink, in fact, he noticed it some time prior but only acted on it tactfully until that day.
Jeong Yunho:
The beeping of the microwave took you out of your daydream. You had been standing in the kitchen, looking into the void, recalling the events of the night before for the last five minutes.
The intense love-making you had with Yunho was so intense that you remembered every single part of it, including the part when you begged him to keep praising you as tears pooled in your eyes.
You were then just hoping that he did not remember it and will not mention it during breakfast. A shiver took over you and you shook your head to focus on something else, like the coffees that were waiting and getting cold.
You turned around and smiled as he was leaning against the door frame, looking fresh with a button-up shirt and tamed hair. He came next to you and left a small kiss on your temple.
“Morning,” you replied closing your eyes at the loving gesture.
“Did you sleep well?” he asked as he sat down on one of the barstools, “I slept like a newborn baby,” he added.
You froze on your spot, eyes wide but thankfully, your back was facing him. You simply hummed in response, not wanting to risk answering with a shaky voice. The sound of him chuckling made you turn back around. He was looking at his phone but the smirk on his face was certainly not from his screen.
“What are you laughing about?” you dared to ask, leaning against the sink behind you.
“Come on, are really not going to talk about what you said last night?” he looked at you with encouraging expression, “I didn’t know that you were into that.”
You felt your face heat up at the subject being brought back to light. A long and deep exhale left your lips as you made your way to stand in front of him, with just the bar counter between you.
“Listen, I just said that in the moment and-”
“No you didn’t, you know that it’s not true,” he cooked his head to the side, “Bunny, you can be honest with me and tell me anything! Actually, I wanna know everything! Since when do you like that kind of stuff and how do you want me to act with you, how do you want me to talk? Tell me, you deserve it, you deserve every little thing that you want and need,” he declared with a fond look.
You felt your heart beat faster at that moment. Yunho was completely drawn by you and your explanation when you finally answered him.
Kang Yeosang:
Days off were really rare in your relationship with Yeosang, especially for you two to have your day at the same time. So every time it happened, you tried to make the most of it by enjoying each other’s company.
With him it meant, staying in and spending the day sleeping, cuddling, and playing games. For the moment you were still at the cuddling phase, with Yeosang’s head resting on your folded legs as you played with his hair.
From time to time he would stretch out his neck so that his face was upward, offering you a pout to kiss. You both listened to the other’s storytelling of the past few weeks and how you were happy to rest together.
But something was actually on your mind, you had been thinking about telling your boyfriend about the thoughts you had lately, some private thoughts.
Yeosang was not the type to be vocal about his feelings or needs, let alone in bed. He usually was quiet and let things happen on their own. So the lack you felt and the incapacity of getting your fantasies fulfilled started to become a burden to you.
“Yeosangie?” you called his name in a whisper.
“Hum?” He looked up at you.
His hand that was caressing your knee stopped and his brows furrowed as you did not talk right away after that.
“Is something wrong?” he asked.
“No it’s just- I...” you stopped when you saw the concern in his eyes as he sat up, facing you, “Do you think that you could maybe...”
“Maybe...?” He repeated.
“Maybe...Tell me things when we have sex?” you told him.
His eyes grew wider, and an odd spark went through them. But to your surprise, he seemed interested in your request. He then dramatically put his hand behind his ear to mention that he was listening.
“Things like how good I am and I make you feel, tell me that I’m doing things right and How you like my body maybe...?” You said in a rush, looking at the wall instead of him.
“You mean like praising you?” he asked curiously.
“No! Not like praising...Yes like praising.” You tried to defend yourself, but the unfazed stare he gave you made you give up.
He took a good minute to seemingly think before looking at you and nodding.
“I can promise you that I will do my best baby, I’m so sorry I didn’t make you feel loved or valuable enough! I’ll change that!”
Choi San:
The lewd noises that were coming from your bedroom would easily make anyone horny or embarrassed, especially you.
But not this time because you were the one making them. You kept moaning repeatedly as San cursed with each thrust he made.
The emotions in his eyes were a mix of lust and love. He threw his head back and brought his hands to grab your waist tighter.
You two had been going at it for over fifteen minutes, having you overstimulated and sensitive to any touch. But you handled it because it felt too good and seeing your boyfriend’s face twist in pure bliss always made you eager for more.
“Fuck b-baby, you’re so good at this,” he groaned, “you’re taking me soooo well...You’re really amazing.”
His praise went straight to your head and your lower part which clenched around him. A low growl left him and he looked even more desirable like that.
“Don’t stop p-please,” you begged, panting.
“What do you mean, Honey? I’m n-not s-stopping,” he said with a deeper thrust, “like that?” he asked.
You cried out his name.
“N-no, don’t stop praising me-ah,” you moaned.
San’s movements came to a halt, and he looked at you with a dark stare. You held his gaze, accepting that you could not take back what you had just said. You two exchanged a long eye-contact, staring into each other’s souls. It was so intense that you did not immediately notice how he slowly began to roll back his hips into you.
“Yeah?” Was all he said, in a curious tone.
You shook your head yes and reached for his shoulders to bring his face close to yours. With a small peck on your lips, he switched your positions so that you were on top of him.
“Then,” he started, his signature smirk on his lips, “let me tell you how stunning you look when we are having sex, mainly in this position,” he said, massaging your behind.
You rose a bit before going back down his length. He groaned again and you placed your hands on his torso as he kept praising you.
“You’re always taking me so fucking well and looking stunning while doing so,” he said with a slap on your butt, “fuck you’re tight! You’re just perfect to me, baby.”
After hearing those words you two speed up the rhythm of your ministrations and came in sync, the third time that night for you.
Song Mingi:
“Okay your turn now!” you said with a wide smile.
Mingi looked up at the ceiling, thinking about his next answer as you brought another spoon of ice cream into your mouth.
You two were seated on the floor of your bedroom, facing each, confessing your fantasies and kinks. And decided to bring ice creams and candies along with it.
So far, you had already confessed about how much you loved his hands and wanted him to use them more on you, then he told you about wanting to try senses restrictions like blindfolds.
The mood was rather light, despite the usual sexual tension that was always around the two of you, this exchange did not make you horny whatsoever.
After his first revelation, you told him about your love for aftercare, mostly his. How you loved being taken care of and also taking care of him after you two made love.
“Hum...I would say that I’m really into...” he looked you in the eyes before resuming, “dirty talk.”
With a small nod, you acknowledged what he had just said and put a little candy into his mouth. Mingi suckled à but on your fingertip, sending waves throughout your lower body.
“I mean, I could have guessed,” you said, chuckling.
“What do you mean?” He raised a brow in curiosity.
“Well, you’re pretty vocal and sometimes I just feel like you’re restraining yourself from saying things,” you shrugged.
“Am I that obvious?” He mumbled to himself, “anyways, it’s your turn!”
You looked at his excited state and gulped at the idea of you finally telling him about your weakness for praises.
“I- I have a praise kink,” you simply said before taking another spoon of ice cream.
Mingi did not respond at all he only looked at you as if he was waiting for you to add something. He nodded his head slowly, still looking at you. His silence made you even more nervous and you started to regret confessing at that point.
"Aren't you gonna say something? Anything?" you asked, looking at your hands.
"I was hoping you were going to say something else...Is that it?" he said.
"Hum yeah?" you frowned.
"I thought you were gonna tell me something I didn't already know," he said, chuckling, "that's nothing new, my love, I already noticed that and that's why I am being so vocal most of the time."
Your mouth hung slightly open and your eyes were round at his statement which made him laugh until his eyes could not be seen anymore.
Jung Wooyoung:
Being loved by everyone and getting compliments was something that you had in common with Wooyoung. You two loved getting attention from the ones you cared about and receiving the proof of their affection. Everyone around you noticed that.
So when you were spending some time with Yeosang, making some food for the boys while you two gave the other names, it did not shock anyone, not even Wooyoung.
“You’re a real chef,” Yeosang told you.
“No, it’s thanks to your help!” You replied.
“Don’t be so humble beautiful, you’re really good at this,” he sent you a wink.
You blushed at his comment, glancing at your boyfriend who did not even flinch and kept talking with San.
Later that night, you talked on the phone with your friend, listening to her gushing over the fact that her boyfriend started calling her sweet names in the bedroom.
“Ha, I wish it was me not gonna lie,” you told her, “like, he does talk during sex and all but he doesn’t really say the words I wanna hear you know? Like, tell me that I’m doing just fine and that I am being good!” You groaned over the phone.
Your pleading made her laugh and you kept talking for an hour. You told her about how clingy and needy Wooyoung could be sometimes, especially in the bedroom, to a point where you end up wanting to please him more than anything.
The sound of someone clearing their throat made your heart skip a beat and you turned your head to see your boyfriend leaning against the wall facing the bed. You excused yourself and hung up.
“So you are into praises huh?” He simply asked, “why didn’t you tell me sooner? So you liked how Yeosang talked to you earlier, didn’t you?” he added.
“Babe, it’s-“ he cut you off.
“You know how much I love when you tell me that I’m making you feel good and I’m the best and all, so why didn’t you just tell me you were also into that?” He questioned, looking a bit worried.
“I just didn’t know how to tell you and I like how you react when I tell you that kind of thing, I didn’t want to take that from you,” you admitted.
“Then,” he squatted down to look at your face, “why don’t you be a good one and show me just how well you can do?” he suggested, raising a brow challengingly.
Choi Jongho:
The sun was setting and watching it with Jongho from the balcony was just a perfect way to end the day for you. Your head resting on his chest, the fresh wind caressing your face, the little swaying from the swinging bench, everything was perfect.
“I’m so glad to have you in my life,” Jongho suddenly said.
“Where does that come from?” You asked jokingly.
“No, I’m being serious,” he said, “you are so precious to me, one of the best things that happened to me,” he confessed.
You froze at his words, completely overwhelmed by his declaration and his choice of words.
“Jongho...” you said, implicitly asking him to stop.
“I mean it, love,” he insisted, “you always make me feel good and happy, you’re an amazing person.”
You felt this, not only in your heart which was pouring in your chest but throughout your body like a tidal wave washing over you. You did not like to admit it, but your lover’s sudden vocalization of his feelings made you feel some type of ways that were beyond a simple romantic reaction.
That was the reason your face was utterly red and your breathing was heavier. You did not realize how you physically reacted until Jongho’s hand came to rest on your shoulder.
“Are you okay?” He asked, “I’m sorry, maybe that was too much at once...”
“Not at all,” you were quick to respond, “actually, I like it, when you talk like that.”
“Really?”
“Yes, I absolutely love it, when you compliment me and tell me that I’m enough and doing great, it makes me feel...good,” you confessed in return.
He smiled fondly at you but his gaze changed for a split second before going back to the loving one. He hummed and nodded in acknowledgment, hugging you tightly.
“Then, I will make sure to repeat it enough for you.”

Small kisses trailed up your palm, the kisser's lips rough and chapped due to the cold weather.
Stroking your thumb over Hongjoong's cheek you gave him a warm smile before laughing at the ticklish sensation.
"Stop, Hongjoong. It's ticklish," you whispered, the bright silver light of the moon coming through the windows of your shared bedroom.
"Can't help it," he said, voice breathy and barely audible as his eyes swirled a loving red.
You and Hongjoong had already been mated for a couple of years, running the pack together without any hitches but no matter how much time bled away into the Earth, the love he held in his eyes never seemed to fade away.
The same loving red, the burning passion that you felt through your bond as well. The belief that everything would be alright as long as you two stuck together had carved its way into your chest and nestled between the loving caresses of your mate's touches.
"You're so beautiful," Hongjoong whispered back and pressed his lips to each fingertip, the touch feather-light and delicate.
You leaned forward, pressing your forehead to his, drinking in every feature and line that had made its way onto your mate's face.
"I love you," you said, every pent up emotion being released into those few words that Hongjoong would never get tired of hearing.
"I love-"
"(Y/n)!" A distressed Yeosang burst into your arm, causing Hongjoong to growl slightly and cover your t-shirt clad figure with his body.
Yeosang's words died in his throat as he took in his pack leaders' states, a slight blush making its way onto his face as he raised his hands and backed out the door before you got out of bed, pulled a pair Hongjoong's shorts on and dismissed your growling alpha with a flick of your hand.
"What is it Yeosang?" You asked, growing slightly panicked at the thought of something happening to one of your packmates.
"Nothing, luna," he gave a nervous smile to Hongjoong who was still glaring daggers at the boy.
"Hongjoong, stop," you said, glancing back at your mate who just huffed and flopped back onto the bed.
"Is someone injured?" You asked, causing Hongjoong to sit up quickly, muscles taut as he got ready to go out and protect his pack, his mate.
"No..." Yeosang trailed off and rubbed the back of his neck before he produced a few burnt hairs that were lying in his palm.
"Seonghwa got hurt?" You shrieked, rushing back to pull Hongjoong out of bed.
"Ah, no, I may have burnt his hairs off myself?" Yeosang said, unsure of his actions as well.
"What do you mean?" You asked, hand slipping from Hongjoong's who just grabbed it again with a roll of his eyes.
"It means, my love that our healer Yeosang here, was trying one of your potions again and burnt Seonghwa's hair," Hongjoong said and pulled you back into bed, nosing your neck and kissing the red mating mark.
You shivered, pulling away from your mate and looking at Yeosang with wide eyes.
"Really? Again? I hope it's a joke this time," you said, but the shy smile on Yeosang's face and San suddenly coming through the door told you that it was not.
"Come on, boys. I have some of the cure left over from last time," you said, sighing and giving Hongjoong a kiss before turning to look at the boys.
"I'll be back, love," you whispered and interlaced your hands together before Hongjoong gave you a smile and kissed your locked hands.
"Come back soon," he said and you laughed.
"Always."
Hongjoong wasn't sure when exactly you came back to bed, having fallen asleep while waiting. But seeing you curled up against his chest in the morning was a sight he could watch on repeat for twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and still never get bored of it.
Rubbing his eyes with his fingers, he stretched his arms above his head before he heard you shift next to him.
"Joongie?" You called and patted the pillow next to you, a small frown taking over your lips when you weren't able to feel himself.
"I'm right here, love," he said and laid back down, turning to face you.
"When did you get back last night?" He asked, causing you to laugh, the sound being dry and almost hopeless.
"Not soon enough," you replied, sighing and then getting out of bed to stretch your limbs.
"The damage was worse than I thought so Seonghwa's going to be in wolf form for a couple of days," you said and Hongjoong winced, huffing at the endearing nuisance his younger packmates were.
"I'm guessing that's not the only thing?" He asked and you let out a weak snort, rolling your eyes.
"What do you take your boys for?" You asked and shook your head.
"Of course that wasn't the only thing. They burned through half my herbs and now I have to go herb picking earlier than I had scheduled," you said, rubbing your hands all over your face with a huff.
Hongjoong nodded and pressed a kiss to your forehead before giving you some clothes to change into. He always loved it when you wore his clothes, the primal instinct in him coming to life when he knew that other lycans would be able to smell him on you.
"I'm pretty sure the boys are waiting for us," he said and sent you off to the bathroom with a little smack on your behind.
The house was eerily quiet as you and Hongjoong walked down the stairs. Something about the situation had Hongjoong's wolf itching at the surface and you could feel his unease through your bond.
Placing your into his, you muttered a small spell, one you had to keep memorised after being mated to Hongjoong for so long. The alpha who got protective and riled up at everything had to be kept calm and while a mate's presence often helped, you knowing a calming spell was just the cherry on top.
"Stop calm spelling me," Hongjoong muttered under his breath before pinching you on the arm slightly, causing you to yelp and pull away from him, only for him to pull you back and wrap his arms around you.
"What're you going to do if we're attacked and I'm all calm under your touch?" He asked, nosing at your throat, his fingers caressing your bare spine under his t-shirt. The feeling sent electrical impulses down your spine, making all snarky replied and bit backs die in the back of your throat.
Hongjoong knew exactly how to get you, where to touch to make sure you felt everything and he always took advantage of it, the sneaky lycan.
"I'm sure I'll be able to take the attackers you're talking about myself," you replied back, clearing your throat and pulling away from him to clear the cloudy haze that was beginning to seep in.
"I can't believe Seonghwa just saw all that," San said, his voice horrified as he took in his pack alpha and luna standing at the landing of the staircase feeling each other up.
"Uh, good morning," you said and cleared your throat, walking into the kitchen and taking a seat next to Yeosang who was petting Seonghwa's big brown wolf.
Pulling a few pieces of fruit and toast onto your plate, you thanked the Earth for its offering before smiling down at Seonghwa who was gazing at you intensely.
"How are you feeling today?" You asked, stroking the patch of fur around his air that was shorter and more coarse than the rest.
The wolf huffed and took the piece of toast off your plate before sitting down next to you.
"Rude wolf," you muttered under your breath and reached forward to take another piece of toast.
"Seonghwa's just annoyed because he saw everything you and Hongjoong did on the landing," San said and smirked at the pack alpha who just bared his teeth at his younger packmate.
"I'm sorry you had to see that, Seonghwa," you cooed and bent down to pet the giant wolf as he nuzzled into your hand.
Although you, Seonghwa and Wooyoung had gotten off on the wrong foot, both of them were now the closest to you, save for Yeosang and San.
They often helped you collect ad sort herbs if Yeosang was ever busy.
"The weather's really nice today," Jongho said, earning curious glances from his fellow packmates.
"And?" Hongjoong asked, munching on a piece of toast.
"Why don't we go out into the forest? Seonghwa is already in his wolf form and it'll be nice to run free for a while," the younger suggested, earning a sideways glance from Seonghwa who had now sauntered up to San.
You nodded and stood up, gathering your basket and coming back to the table. Meanwhile, the boys helped Hongjoong clean the dishes before they stepped outside into the bright winter sun, weather windy but sky blue.
"What herbs do you need?" Hongjoong asked and you gave him a pointed look, glancing at the boys who had now taken on their wolf forms, their furs shining under the sun.
"Just the usual, sage, echinacea, milk thistle flowers and others," you said and Hongjoong tilted his head questioningly, not quite understanding any of the plants you were naming.
"Just ask Yeosang, make it a punishment," Hongjong mumbled, pressing a kiss to the side of your forehead before running up to the others in his white wolf form.
While you wanted to go across the pack lands, one huff from Hongjoong made you roll your eyes at his protectiveness, choosing to stay within the boundaries instead.
The wolves all bathed under the sun, ears lax on their heads as some snoozed while others just rolled around, tails wagging like happy puppies.
Bending down to dig some of the roots out, you heard a low growl come from behind you before you frantically stood up, rushing to where your mate and packmates were being petted by some very enthusiastic forest spirits, the lingering tinkle of laughter in the air.
"Yunho, the puppies are so cute," Mingi cooed, stroking Hongjoong on the hair, the wolf growling at the spirit.
"I agree! Who's a good boy, are you a good boy," Yunho asked, his voice rising in pitch as he scratched behind Seonghwa's ears, the wolf releasing purring sounds before they changed into scratchy growls.
"Hey, boys," you greeted, tucking the basket over your arm before making your way over to your mate, sitting down next to the enormous white alpha.
"Sorceress," Mingi yelled, stroking some strands of hair from your face before pulling out a small bouquet of chamomile flowers.
"We found them growing near your old house, figured you might need it," he said and dropped it in your basket before sticking his tongue out at Hongjoong.
The wolf huffed, shifting to rest his heavy head in your lap as you moved to thread your fingers through his fur.
"Thank you, boys," you said, smiling at the two forest spirits who were now bothering Jongho.
"Are there any more herbs you need?" Yunho asked, floating over to you, a look of mirth in his eyes as Jongho tried to nip at Mingi's arm.
"Some lavender would be nice," you shrugged, missing the nice fragrance of the purple flowers.
"Ah, those are hard to come by," Yunho said, thinking hard about where lavender could be located in the forest.
"Maybe even some tree bark," you said and saw from the corner of your eyes as Yeosang and San perked up.
"Those are located near the lake," Yunho said and you nodded before pointing to Hongjoong's big white wolf who was snoozing on your lap, snores coming from his nose.
Before you could move his head, Yeosang and San jumped up with happy yips, sauntering towards the lake to pick the tree barks you had requested.
Prideful wolves...
You rolled your eyes, before lying down in the grass, Seonghwa coming up and lying next to your head, his large paws heavy as they rested on your arms.
"How are you feeling?" You asked, tone soft as you looked at a sleeping Hongjoong.
The brown wolf made some foreign noise before rolling over onto his back. You laughed and scratched his belly, his large furry tail wagging at the sensation.
The sky had taken up an orange hue by the time San and Yeosang and returned, various bunches of roots, leaves and barks handing from their mouths.
"There you guys are," you said, smiling at the other pack members who were now bidding you goodbye.
"Where have you been?" You asked, handing them each a shirt and a pair of shorts.
"Tree barks were harder to collect than we thought," San said, emerging from fully clothed and human.
"We picked up whatever we could find," Yeosang added, handing you muddy clumps of plants.
You gazed at the plants, separating them with your fingers when you felt hands wrap themselves around your waist.
"Hey, love," Hongjoong said, planting some kissed up your neck before setting his head above your shoulder.
"Hi," you greeted back, kissing the side of his head before looking at the two boys standing in front of you.
"Uh," you stuttered, looking at Yeosang with a pained look.
"Do you even read the guide of herbs I had given you?" You asked, petting your hands rest on top of Hongjoong's.
"Yes?" He said, making it sound more like a question.
"Then you will know that these are poisonous," you said, holding up some roots by their leaves.
Hongjoong snorted, hiding his face in your shoulder trying his best to control his laugh as Yeosang fidgeted under your gaze.
"How was I supposed to know?" He said and looked to Hongjoong who just laughed.
"You are supposed to know because you're the one who's learning the art of witch healing," San bit back before taking the roots from your hands and retreating into Hongjoong and your house.
"Ah, I'm sorry (Y/n)," Yeosang flushed, picking up the other plants and then rushing behind San.
You turned to Hongjoong with a smile on your face as the sky turned a dark pink, the orange bleeding into red which would ultimately turn black.
"Your packmates are crazy," you said, cupping your mate's cheeks.
"Our packmates, love," Hongjoong laughed, kissing your palms, as he pulled you close.
"Quite right," you said, connecting your arms around his neck, pulling him close for a kiss.
"I love you, my lovely mate," Hongjoong whispered, the shared promise of forever hanging from the hushed words.

San tossed around in his bed, the covers making a swishing noise as they tangled around his limbs uncomfortably.
It was already half-past two in the morning, and you had still not come back home. San tried not to bother much as he knew your job usually kept you until late hours in the night, but it was never this late and it was never without a prior message.
The room was dark, and the only light that came in was through the sheer white curtains that covered the large windows in your and San's shared bedroom.
San turned from his side to his back, staring at the white-painted ceiling above him with endless thoughts floating in his head.
Where were you? Why had you not called or texted him? Were you okay?
A never-ending spiral of questions regarding your wellbeing clouded your boyfriend's mind as he finally made up his mind and swept himself off the bed. His feet hit the wooden floor with a certain amount of determination. Grabbing a pair of black sweatpants and a white t-shirt, he set a baseball hat on his head and dialled your number.
The line rang a few times as San made his way out of the front door, standing in front of the elevator as the numbers aimlessly moved floors.
"Hello?" Your voice suddenly sounded and San almost cried out of relief.
"Hello? (Y/n)? Where are you baby?" San fumbled out in a rush and clutched the phone tighter in his hand, frantically pressing the elevator button as if it would make the metal box move faster.
"Hello?" Your voice rang out once again and San checked the bars on his phone to see if he was getting enough network.
"Hello? Baby? Can you hear me? Where are you?"
"Hello...lo..lo...lo, yell...ow...ow..." a small giggle accompanied your words and San furrowed his eyebrows.
"(Y/n)? Are you alright?" He asked and almost through himself into the elevator when it arrived.
"Whoooo is this?" Your words were heavily slurred. Every letter stretching out like play dough in a child's hands.
"It's me, baby. San."
San stood in front of the elevator's door, almost shaking from the panic that was slowly building up in him. The only thing keeping him sane was the fact that you were alive and on the line with him.
"San!" You giggled and snorted at hearing your boyfriend's name and started making kissing noises over the speaker, making San cringe and draw the phone away from his ear due to the disturbing noise.
"Yes, baby, it's me, San. Where are you right now?"
"I'm...I don't know...but there's a big fucking smiley face staring right at me."
San sighed and rubbed his temples before smiling. He knew exactly where you were and thankfully it wasn't that far from the apartment.
Hooking his phone up to the car, he punched in the location and pulled out of the parking lot. All while trying to make conversation with you.
"Hang in there baby, I'm almost there," he said you giggled again before a thumping noise came and the call got disconnected.
San pressed the accelerator with an inhuman force and even skipped a few red lights before pulling up in front of a 24x7 convenience store called 'Smiley Convenience'. Parking along the sidewalk haphazardly, he grabbed his phone and dialled your number to follow the ringing noise to back where the tables were located.
Seated in one of the plastic chairs, there you were. Hair slightly tangled, falling all over your arm as you snoozed on the table. Your phone was pressed tightly between your cheek and table as soft snores left your mouth.
"Baby," San shook you awake but had to hold his breath due to the strong smell of alcohol that was coming off you as if it was some new perfume you had sprayed.
"Baby," he tried once again and lifted you up, shaking you by your shoulders slightly to get you awake and going.
Incoherent gurgles and mumbles left your mouth as you slumped on top of him. San moved you to the backseat, lying you straight down but upright enough to buckle you in.
Getting you back into the apartment was another task on its own. Throughout the elevator ride up to your apartment, drunk you thought it would be a good idea to press all the buttons and giggle as the elevator stopped and opened on every floor. San had to apologise multiple times to the elderly couple that had committed the grave sin of getting onto the same elevator as you and him. His back hurt from bowing to ninety degrees, apologising every time you pressed a button only to giggle and then lean into him some more.
San let out a huge exhale as he finally managed to get you seated at the kitchen island. Placing a big glass of water and a banana in front of you, he moved to your side to take off your coat and sweater.
"Come on, baby. Let's get you changed," he said gently and pulled at your coat and sweater until you whined and stopped him by holding his hands.
"Excuse me, sir," you slurred out, reaching your finger out to boop San's nose at 'sir'.
"I have no idea what you're doing, but I have a boyfriend."
San had to stifle the little chuckle that threatened to spill out of his lips.
"Don't joke (Y/n), come on. Let's get you to bed."
He tugged at your sweater and coat only to be met with a harsh glare from you again.
"Sir! I love my boyfriend very much and will not be cheating on him, thank you very much."
San's heart swelled at your love for him but the better part of him wanted to smack you for your lack of recognition.
Deciding to humour you, San left your clothes and moved to the other side of the island, peeling the banana and placing it in front of your lips.
'Oh yeah? Is your boyfriend hot?" He asked and watched with amusement as you bit the banana with a little pout, thinking long and hard.
"Sir," you said and blushed a bright red, covering your face with your hands.
"My boyfriend is the hottest," you replied and giggled at the end.
"That's good to hear," San said and peeled the banana further, stopping to give you a sip of water, pressing the straw to your lips.
"What's your boyfriend's name?" San asked, just to really kill the cat with curiosity.
"His name is..." you trailed off and San almost hit his face on the marble countertop in amusement but also frustration.
"You don't remember his name?" San mused and took out a bowl of strawberries, placing them in front of you.
"I know his name, sir. Don't be silly. His name is mountain!"
The surety in your voice as if you had hit eureka made San burst out with laughter as turned around to refill the water and throw the banana peel out.
"His name is mountain?"
You gave a determined nod and set your hands on the table in fists.
"His name is Mountain and I love him with all my heart. I want to spend the rest of my life with him."
Your eyes were hard and set ablaze with some kind of fire. But they also held a soft amount of love in them.
Love and admiration, dripping out as honey while you talked about 'Mountain', your supposed boyfriend.
San choked a little at your confession and leaned across the kitchen island to reach you. He pressed a loving kiss to your lips and smiled at you.
You whined and pushed him back, complaining about how your boyfriend wouldn't like you kissing some other man but San heard none of it, your earlier confession ringing in his ears.
"Your boyfriend told me to tell you that he loves you too," he whispered and stroked your hair making it loll to the side as you pressed your cheek into his hand.
"That's good news, sir. Otherwise there would be a problem," you whispered back and then yawned. San could see the after-effects of your little alcohol solo party start to take its toll majorly and lifted you in his arms. You nuzzled into his neck, clinging to his body like a koala to a tree branch.
"Sir, I must say, you and Mountain smell the same. You both smell like home. My home," you murmured and then finally fell asleep, eyes drooping closed.
San could feel soft puffs of air against his neck as he shifted you around in the bed, finally unwinding your arms from his neck and pulling the blankets over you.
"I'll always be your home, baby." he whispered and cleared hair strands from your face, smiling at the little pout that had formed on your lips.
Getting into bed next to you, San inhaled as you immediately almost reflexively cuddled into his side.
Four walls created a house but home is always where the heart is and San's heart was with you; his home.

As Hongjoong fake smiled at the customer and turned around to make yet another damned pumpkin spice latte, he found himself hating this part of the year more than any other.
It was a curse in all its worth to live in the human world, having to make mortal money. But no matter how much Hongjoong cursed his existence, he took slight comfort in the fact that at least he wasn't on the street starving and dying.
"Here you go, miss," he smiled and handed the paper cup to the lady and moved onto the next customer. It had been the same routine for the last few years Hongjoong had been cursed to the mortal world by his witch coven and it was getting boring, to say the least.
"Next customer, please," he said and tapped the register before looking up at you standing in front of him.
"What can I get for you today?" He asked after you didn't utter a word and just stared at the menu while fiddling with your hands. Your face was covered with a grey hood, and all Hongjoong wanted to do was yank it down and hex you for taking so long.
"Why don't you wait on the side while I take the rest of the orders?" He suggested, and a chorus of agreements for you to step out of the line was heard from the back.
"When you're done deciding, I'll help you out."
With that, he saw you move out the line and get cursed by the obnoxious and uptight people behind you, who were probably running late for their "important" meetings.
After shuffling about and preparing drinks behind the counter, he finally saw you stand in front of the register and right the little bell that was kept there to attract his attention.
"Are you finally ready to order?" He asked and you muttered a low 'yes' in response.
"What will you be having today?" He said and watched in annoyance as you brought your hands up to your hood and lowered it down to reveal your face.
"Just a black coffee, please. As strong as possible." Your voice was small and almost came out as a whisper. All the ill-will that Hongjoong had harboured against you vanished the moment he saw your blotchy face with dried tear streaks and small cuts.
"I'll get right on it," he said and mustered up a genuine smile, with his teeth showing.
You took out a crumpled note from your hoodie pocket and thrust it into Hongjoong's hand who just smiled at you again and put it in the tip jar, claiming your coffee was on the house.
When he stepped behind to attend to your drink, he made sure to provide extra attention to it. It looked like you had been through a rough day and all Hongjoong wanted at that moment was to make you feel better with his coffee. His coffee, crafted by his hands, made only for you.
An odd feeling churned at the bottom of his stomach as he lidded the paper cup and carrying it towards the end of the counter.
"Here you go. Strongest black coffee I could prepare," he said and you gave him a thankful nod.
You turned to leave, pulling your hood back over your head before Hongjoong called you out.
"Listen!"
You stopped in your tracks and shifted to face him. His red hair was falling into his wide eyes as he called out to you.
You approached him slowly and looked up to meet his eyes. They were a burnt umber colour, almost a warm reddish-brown and you found yourself getting slightly lost in them.
"If you don't mind," he started and you backed away a little, knowing how this would go. He was surely going to ask you for your number and you had no intention of giving it.
"What exactly happened? Who made you so sad that you couldn't sleep?"
The question startled you. You thought you had washed your face enough times to get rid of any lasting evidence but it seemed as if you were wrong.
"I-" you mulled over your words. Was it really alright to dump your problems on the barista of your local cafe?
"I stayed up all night fighting with my boyfriend," you admitted sadly and looked down at your hands that were clutching the coffee cup.
"Oh," Hongjoong frowned and felt that odd churning at the bottom of his stomach. Only this time, it was more fierce.
"It's not a problem, really. He just tends to get angry really quickly," you said and shrugged your shoulders as if it was no big deal.
Hongjoong didn't say anything but he had a small inkling as to what you were going through. While he may not have an immediate fix for it, he thought of something that would help.
"Hey, San!" He shouted and you watched as a lanky black-haired boy trudged out from the kitchen area.
"Can you please pack two cookies from the display case," he said and the boy meekly nodded before going off to do his task.
"I'm not sure of how much it will help..." Hongjoong trailed off and gave you a small knowing smile.
"But, I assure you, for as long as I have been living in the mortal world, I have never found any other cookie better than this."
You furrowed your eyebrows at his comment.
'Mortal world'?
Deciding to ignore it nonetheless, you lowly thanked the red-haired man in front of you before taking the paper bag out of San's hand, exiting the cafe.
As you soon as you exited, San clutched Hongjoong's hand and dragged him back to the kitchen area.
"I know what you're thinking," he said and Hongjoong watched the lanky boy turn back into his cat form and jump into his witch's arms.
"And what exactly am I thinking?" Hongjoong mused and raised one of his eyebrows, petting San's black fur and scratching behind his ears.
The cat hissed and bared its teeth at the witch who just laughed and ushered the cat back onto the floor.
"Sometimes San," he started and untied his apron, hanging up on one of the hooks, "You're too smart for your own good."
Hongjoong inhaled the scent of burning sage as he opened the door to his apartment with a small opening incantation. You could never really be too sure with these pesky humans. All pesky...except you.
Ever since Hongjoong's interaction with you at the cafe, he had set his heart on making you feel better, even if it does create a small dent in his supplies.
"San!" He called out once again and the cat made its appearance in front of him at once.
"Come on," Hongjoong said and stood in front of his bedroom door, muttering a quick spell before turning the handle and walking in.
The room was lined with wooden shelves from top to bottom with all types of witchy paraphernalia.
"Really? You're going to make that pesky human a potion?"
The cat turned boy was now leaning against the back wall, watching his owner word about his brewing room with a certain determination he had never seen before.
"Why not?" He said and dropped strawberry leaves along with a few dried jasmine flowers in a pot that was situated in the middle.
Hongjoong stood on one of the stools searching the higher shelves before he turned to San.
"We're out of willow barks," he said and San rolled his eyes before pushing himself off the wall and exiting the room through the window in cat form.
Hongjoong bustled about the room, adding different elements to the pot which had now turned an ugly black mixture.
Throwing in some dried butterfly wings and yarrow flowers, he sat down in the corner and waited for San to come back with his bark.
The night wind whistled through the room and Hongjoong's idle thoughts floated back to you. Even in your miserable state, he thought you mesmerising and while he wouldn't call it love at first sight, it was definitely love at first sight.
Everything about you set Hongjoong's nerves on fire with some kind of aphrodisiac. The poison of love slowly making its way through his system, flushing out all negative thoughts and replacing them with happy ones instead.
San meowed as he made an appearance in front of Hongjoong and dropped the willow bark into the pot. The potion turned a sweet dark pink and Hongjoong tipped the entire thing into a vial before shifting back to his room with a snap of his fingers.
When Hongjoong saw you next, he was more than prepared. But what he wasn't prepared for was for you to be in a worse situation than you were previously. The tear streaks had turned into cuts and the puffy eyes had turned into black-purple bruises that peeked out from under your makeup.
"What happened?" Hongjoong whispered and ghosted his fingers over a particularly nasty bruise. You flinched back and closed your eyes, thinking he was going to do exactly what your boyfriend did to you. Instead, he lightly caressed your cuts with his fingers, almost butterfly-like touches that you made you want to press your face into his hands.
"Was it him again?" He asked from behind the counter, leaning forward a bit to make sure that no one heard him.
You didn't say anything, the words getting horribly stuck in your throat. But your silence was answer enough for him.
"What's your name?" He asked and your eyes widened.
"(Y/n)," you whispered and looked down at your fiddling hands.
"Well, (y/n). My name is Hongjoong," he said and pointed to the small enamel plate pinned on his apron.
You nodded and gave him the most genuine smile you could muster in your state.
"Now, I'll make you some coffee and we're going to sit at that table over there and talk. Is that alright with you?" He asked and you nodded once again, hair covering your eyes a little.
He painted fingernails brushed the hair out of your face and shooed you out of the line with a sweet grin before turning around to make your coffee.
Slipping the small vile out of his apron pocket, he tipped in a capful of the potion he had concocted and watched as it slowly fizzled pink inside the blackish-brown liquid before settling down.
He set a small cookie on the saucer of your cup and set it down in front of you while seating himself in the opposite chair.
"How long has it been going on?" He said and you choked a little on the hot liquid, not expecting him to cut right through the chase.
"This is the second time," you responded, nibbling on your cookie.
Hongjoong didn't say a word. Except, he motioned for you to continue with your coffee while he just sat opposite you, admiring the way you looked so perfect. Save for the injuries here and there.
Slowly sipping the caffeinated liquid, you felt it soothe your oesophagus as it gushed down and settled in the pit of your stomach. The feeling was warm and it was almost as if it was temporarily fixing all your problems.
Oh, if only you knew.
"Do you like it?" Hongjoong asked and you nodded enthusiastically, the bitterness of it still stinging your tastebuds.
"There's something very flowery about it," you said and Hongjoong just gave you another one his innocent smiles before letting out a sheepish laugh.
"It's a special type of bean we get imported," he said and you completely believed it.
The conversation stopped there as Hongjoong had to go back to work. Picking up your now empty cup, he greeted you with a soft goodbye which you returned as you exited the cafe and walked down the street. It was a puzzling revelation to you but you found yourself feeling much better; half a heartbreak almost cured.
"You're falling in love with her, aren't you," San hissed from his corner in the room as Hongjoong grabbed the butterfly wings from his shelf and placed them on his work station.
"Absolutely... yes," Hongjoong said and smiled at his table that was scattered with handwritten notes for you. All declaring his love like some Romeo lost in time and oh, how jealous Juliette would be.
San sighed and turned back into his cat form, jumping up onto his witch's tables and scratching through some of the letters Hongjoong had written.
"Hey!" Hongjoong yelled and threw his body over the paper to shield them from San's claws.
"Mind your paws," he said and San just trudged off the table with an indecent flick of his black tail.
Over the past few weeks, Hongjoong and you had gotten close. It was finally yesterday when the last straw of his healing potion had worked and you broke out the courage to dump your stupid boyfriend and report him for abuse.
With him rotting in prison, you had a lot of time on your hand and what better way to spend it than with your precious Joongie.
"Why are you even making her another healing potion? Didn't (Y/n) dump the guy already?" San asked as he slinked over one of the chairs, his legs jutting over the arms.
"Silly kitty," Hongjoong started and San hissed in reply, baring his teeth.
"This," he gestured to the pot and then smiled, "Is not a healing potion anymore. It's a love potion."
At Hongjoog's words, San jerked straight up and looked at him with wide eyes.
"Are you serious?"
Hongjoong scoffed as he neatly folded his handwritten letters and placed them under one of the jars.
"Yes, very. I am very serious about my love for (Y/n). Now hand me the scissors."
San rolled his eyes and passed the scissors which Hongjoong used to cut up the rosed into small fragments of petals.
Flinging the roses into the boiling potion in the pot along with some bay leaves and lavender, his heart bubbled with excitement at the deep red colour it took on.
Taking all of his handwritten letters, he shredded them to pieces before adding them to the pot as well.
San and Hongjoong both moved away from the pot as it bubbled furiously and then shot out a bloody red mist in the air.
Hongjoong inhaled deeply while San hacked a cough here and there, changing into his cat form to hide from the poisonous mist.
Tipping the final step of his plan into a vile, he stored it safely in his jacket pocket for tomorrow before stepping out of the room.
"Good morning Joongie," you piped as you smiled at the red-haired boy in front of you.
"(Y/n)," he acknowledges and taps the screen of the register before clapping excitedly.
"Oh! We just got some new tea that I would love for you to try," he said and ushered you to one of the tables before getting behind the counter to prepare your tea.
Setting the prepared drink under your nose, you marvelled at the gorgeous colour. The way the sun hit just right to make the red seem almost pink and the way the steam from the cup had taken on a misty red hue.
"What is this called?" You asked and Hongjoong laughed, setting himself down in the opposite chair.
"It's a love potion," he said and you laughed, thinking he was joking.
"Well, let's hope it's my lucky day and I fall in love with the one I'm looking for," you joked back but Hongjoong just frowned and fiddled with his hands nervously.
Did you like someone else?
"Drink up," he said and you pushed the cup to your lips, drinking in all of the liquid at once.
Hongjoong almost squealed in excitement but he contained it and reached out to stroke your hand with his thumb instead.
"You know, (y/n). There's something I've been meaning to tell you," he started and watched with bubbling ecstasy as he saw your pupils dilate with a reddish tint before returning to normal.
"Go on," you smiled and clutched his hand. The rings felt cool against your skin and a slight buzz between both your hands caused your skin to tingle.
It was a refreshing feeling; the feeling of cliche love.
"I... I really like you (Y/n) and I was kind of hoping I could take you out?"
There, he had said it. Hongjoong had confessed the smallest part of his undying love for you.
"Oh..." you trailed off and Hongjoong furrowed his eyebrows.
Did the potion not work?
"Just think about it and let me know. You have my number," he said and got up to continue his work.
You, on the other hand, were at war with your inner self. There was a coworker that you had been crushing on for the last week or so and were planning to ask him out but why a clouding sense of Hongjoong had left you occupied with thoughts of him instead.
The walk back to your apartment was spent in a perplexing self argument. Every time you forced the thought of your coworker in your head, a repulsive feeling washed over you and only Hongjoong's face brought you to ease.
Instead of walking back to your apartment, you circled the playground near it the entire day before a ringing from your pocket interrupted your thoughts.
"I was wondering," you heard Hongjoong's smooth voice over the line and instantly found yourself smiling.
"If you had made up your mind?" He said and you sighed at the fantasy of him whispering 'I love you' to you in that voice. A rosy feeling poured out of your heart and rubbed the part over your chest to ease the excitement that was thrumming under it.
You looked around the playground and watched little children run and play with their parents. Suddenly, the world seemed to take on a rosy mist as if you were viewing it through red-tinted glasses.
"Hongjoong, I-" you spoke but your fingers tingled a little when you heard him laugh over the phone.
"Okay, alright. Take your time. Good night, (Y/n)," he said and hung up. You stood in the middle of the street, blinking as the shit-stained world was revealed to you once again.
Where did all the wonder go?
Your breath hitched as you started taking steps to the cafe, breaking out into a full-on sprint midway.
All the lights of the cafe were closed except for the spotlight on top of the counter. You saw Hongjoong clearing some things and quickly tried to push the glass door, only for it to not budge.
Frantically, you hit your palm against the glass causing Hongjoong to get startled and look up at the source of the noise. You locked eyes with him and it was as if at that moment, it was la vie en rose again.
Hongjoong hurried over from behind the counter, unlocking the door and pulling it open as you pushed from the other side.
Barrelling through the door, you locked your arms around his neck and buried your face into the crook of his neck. You exhaled shakily and Hongjoong almost fainted due to your warm breath that was hitting his neck.
"(Y/n), what happen?" He said and stroked your back with almost the same affection that a mother would give to her sobbing child.
Hongjoong tried to pull back but you only hugged him tighter, winding your arms tighter around his neck and pressing your body into his.
"I-I...I wanted to see you," you exhaled and Hongjoong's heart leapt at your words.
You wanted to see him!
"I'm right here," he said and led you to the back of the cafe where you saw San lazily sipping on a cup of milk.
"Hey (Y/n)- oh," he said and gazed at yours and Hongjoong's intertwined hands.
Hongjoong leaned against the counter next to San who had now shifted back into his cat form, nuzzling into Hongjoong's side.
"Is this your way of saying yes?" He asked and you just giggled. Hongjoong seemed ethereal to you under the rosy mist and his red hair complemented the flowers of love perfectly.
"No, Joongie...let's just skip all the initial formalities. I want it to be just you and me forever," you confessed with absolute determination in your voice and Hongjoong pulled you closer to him at your words.
"(Y/n), I love you," he whispered and San made a gagging noise at the side as Hongjoong yanked on his tail lightly, causing San to yowl and then scatter away.
"Joongie, I love you too."
For the people who said that the honeymoon phase never lasts, you and Hongjoong proved them horribly wrong.
Now, a year and a half into your relationship, you had shifted into Hongjoong's apartment with rosy dreams of marriage, little children or even more cats. You had quite your job, believing Hongjoong's claim about his job being more than enough to support the two of you. You spend your days lazing around the house with San who mostly stayed in his cat form unless he needed to stretch. During those times, instead of San the cat, you would hang out with San, Hongjoong's coworker and friend from the cafe who had decided to pay a visit.
Hongjoong never let you leave the house unless it was with him or unless he had given you an extra-strong cup of tea in the morning. You were perfectly content with being left to your own devices at home, dreaming of Hongjoong and bathing in the love you had for him.
"Here you go, love," Hongjoong said as he handed you the familiar red tea he had deemed a love potion. Over the months, the red tea had become your one source of liquid courage, comfort and support, completely oblivious to its side-effects.
Hongjoong watched you with a lovestruck smile as you sipped the tea he had concocted. Your pupils dilated with a red tint like every other time he had given you the tea, the rosy mist clouding your senses and mind.
An overwhelming amount of love spread through your body like fire as you leaned up to kiss Hongjoong on the lips. The sweet residue of his tea lingering between the two of you before you settled on the sofa to take a small nap.
"(Y/n)," Hongjoong called as he appeared in the doorway all dressed.
"I'm going to the cafe for a bit. Some stock has come in that the boss needs me to run it through."
You sighed dreamily before your eyes opened in panic and shock.
Hongjoong was leaving?
"Joongie, it's your day off. You said you would stay."
The male laughed and walked over to where you were lying down, stroking your cheeks and hair affectionately.
"I promise I'll be back as soon as I can," he said and brought your hand up to place a sugary kiss to it.
He picked up his things and moved to the front door as you launched yourself from the sofa and grabbed onto the back of his shirt.
"No, Joongie, please. I get so lonely and I just- you said you wouldn't go. Today's your day off," you begged and fisted his shirt in both your hands, preventing him from leaving.
Hongjoong felt slightly alarmed but he would be lying if he said he didn't like it. He had never seen you act this way but it was something he wanted to keep.
"Alright (Y/n). I won't go," Hongjoong said and ushered you back into the house, brushing a few stray tears from your face.
"Thank you, Joongie. Can I please have some more tea please?" You asked and pouted, trying to woo the male in front of you.
Needless to say that he was already very whipped for you.
"Of course, my love," he said and moved to kitchen as you attached yourself to him like a koala.
"I love you, Joongie," you said and hugged him tighter, "Promise you won't ever leave me?"
"I love you too, (Y/n) and yes, I promise I'll never leave you."
