Hello please read this if you write fiction on here, as an author, I advice every author here on tumblr (at least for now) to clearly write on their posts that their works shall not be reposted or translated. I have for the longest times argued with people who take works and translate them onto another website and on the daily I see so many Atiny writers on that website who probably donโt even know itโs happening. Iโve talked to people running the website but they state they give โcreditsโ aka them just writing โcr. Usernameโ not even saying which website, url or so on... this makes me mad as fuck so just letting yโall know... we deserve the nice feedback under the comment section of that website, and translating is not the same effort as creating the whole fic IMO.
some of the authors that Iโve seen on the website that should (if you want to) make a clarifier that their work is not to be translated / reposted.
Itโs so upsetting that I have to say this because I thought that decency was a thing but apparently it is notโฆ

The night sky is how I came to wish to fly. It is the most beautiful art, alive with in raw energy, a proverbial song for the eyes.
There were times I felt as if I could feel it vibrating somehow, whispering in a way the ears cannot hear. I guess it felt friendly when the world of people felt so devoid of love
The stars shone as sugar spilt over black marble, glistening in the sun. The night sky was such a welcome sight, appearing like magic at each sunset, promising to return as she faded in dawn's first light.
There were times in the daytime, under skies of blue, San would think of those faraway stars and how they'd return after the shadows blended into the dark.
He knew, the skies would be even more beautiful with the wind brushing through his hair, through the humans' hair as well.
There was only one way to ascertain what breeze the humans would like.

Your footsteps echoed on the marble steps of Seonghwa's temple, the sound drowning in the chatters and prayers of the farmers who had come to lay their offerings at the feet of their Goddess.
You looked like a simpleton in your white dress, the fabric light and perfect for the gentle spring breeze that was making its way in between the stone pillars of the giant temple. You adorned a simple braid into which the young girls had twisted flowers of the first spring blood.
"Why do people assume you are a woman?" The question was something you had always wondered about. The large marble statue carved to perfection with a bushel of wheat in one hand while the other bore fruits of the harvest season.
"Mortals believe what they want to believe," a voice said, accompanied by footsteps that stopped right next to you. ย
"Yes, well, mortals claim they are all-knowing, so how come they do not know the true form of the God that blesses them with so much?" You asked again, voice lilt with amusement.
"Because, unlike the stuck up pricks who live on Olympus and drink ambrosia while knocking up their sisters, I prefer to do what is required of me...regardless of mortal thought."
You finally turned to the owner of the voice, a bright smile on your face as you plucked one of the flowers out of your hair and handed it to the man in front of you.
"The children claim they belong to the first bloom of spring. Consider it my offering, may the spring thrive this year," you said, mockingly bowing to the male who took the flower from your hand with a laugh.
"Well, that's your responsibility isn't it, (Y/n)?" The male asked, making your eyes go wide with shock before you lunged to cover his mouth, hushing him with a newly acquired urgency.
Some of the farmers and maidens in the temple eyed your act of disrespect towards the male with disapproving looks, making you bow to them apologetically before resuming your stance from before.
"You should know better than to utter a Goddess' name in front of mortals, Seonghwa," you spat, smiling a little as Seonghwa snorted with amusement.
"Mortals think that Demeter is a woman. They will profit little from knowing the name of a man who seems like a commoner."
You sighed at his words, knowing full well that he was making sense. But as much as you hated his guts sometimes, as you gazed at his sharp cheekbones and glittery eyes, there was a type of softness his gaze held as he looked on to the people who worshipped him.
The connection between Seonghwa and you was something akin to family. Maybe sibling, maybe parent-child or maybe just playful cousins but the fact that he cared for you deeper than any of the other Gods, even your so-called 'parents' did was something you would always remain grateful for.
No one questioned it when Seonghwa announced that he was taking you under his wing, and certainly, no one questioned it when the mortals started relating you to Demeter.
'Persephone', they'd call you, but to Seonghwa, you were always (Y/n).
Hongjoong wandered the barren black lands of the underworld, only the quiet hum of the river Styx and the occasional crackle of fire keeping him company.
Judging by the position of the moon in the sky, he figured that it was close to late evening, the sun would be sitting somewhere on the horizon as the moon reaches its prime.
The underworld was lonely, stark and barren in all its crevices. The only other soul was Charon but even he was a man of fewer words, much preferring to ferry soul across the river than chat with the God of the Underworld.
Hongjoong sighed as he rubbed his hands over his face, horribly exhausted by doing nothing other than watching endless souls pass through the barrier between the mortal and the after. The white fabric of ghosts surrounded Hongjoong, their empty souls and unwillingness to pay Charon, dooming them to roam the mare of the underworld.
When the moon finally ascended to its prime, Hongjoong appeared among the pine and Cyprus trees, the dark of the night helping hide his figure from the foolish humans who chose to roam the night.
He absorbed the trees and vegetation around him, breathing in the life he had missed in the underworld, the gentle breeze that caressed his lonely cheeks and turned them rosy from the deadly sunken pale. The crickets hummed as Hongjoong made his way further through the trees, leaving a trail of dead grass and withered leaves in his path.
It was here he first saw you, silent footsteps that blessed the Earth as you strolled by the river bank that was illuminated by the silver of the Moon.
He had heard tales of you, gossip from the Hermes who sometimes paid him a visit, of the beauty of spring. The Goddess who was as innocent as a dove and fresh as the dewdrops that littered the leaves in the morning. But seeing your first hand made him realise that no amount of heavenly gossip would ever do you justice.
He could see the light you carried with you, some type of ethereal glow that pained Hongjoong deeply because he knew he'd only taint you by giving in to his thought of desire-at-first-sight. He would blacken your white soul with his foul hands and kill all the life you left in your wake but he wanted it.
Wanted to feel just what the feeling of light and life could produce. Something deep down told him that you would be his guide.
Aphrodite would probably curse him but hell was where home was after all.
Spring was bleeding into summer when you first noticed the dark figure that had been trailing you. They were like a shadow, always appearing at night and never in broad daylight. They mostly kept to the shade or the places where even the moon couldn't reach but instead of intimidating, they came off like an admirable puppy to you, someone who was just seeking praise and affection. The figure had never once approached you but this time, with a determined heart, you set out and approached the figure first.
You had never once ever seen the God of the Underworld face to face but had often heard tales of him as a child.
How he would eat the souls that passed into the underworld with his pointy fangs and claws, digging into their mortal fleshes before they could even drop the offering coins in Charon's bony hands.
Seonghwa had laughed when you had recounted the stories to him, head thrown back fully as his laughter echoed through the wheat fields, brightening the harvest tenfold.
"They're called stories for a reason, (Y/n)," he had said and now you standing face to face with Hades, you could very tell that those stories were oh, so very false. Standing in front of you, features highlighted by the peaking moonlight from the leaves and his bright red hair, you could see just how...handsome the man was.
"You're Hades, God of the Underworld, are you not?" You asked, pointing fingers at him accusingly.
Hades raised an eyebrow at you, perplexed at the lack of fear you were radiating at the sight of him. Clearly, you would've heard those wildly mismatched rumours about him.
"You're not scared?" He asked, putting his hands behind his back and sinking into the shadows of the trees, the absence of light completely covering his features.
You stepped back at his words, his tone indicating no sort of threat but the least you could do was be wary.
"Are you going to kill me?" You asked, voice small and timid, unsure of whether you were asking the correct question.
"Depends, are you going to judge me and curse me out?" Hades asked and you could only look at him with sad eyes.
"Never," you replied and held Hades' dark gaze, committed to showing him that you meant no harm.
"Then I won't have any reason to kill you," he replied and you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.
It was on one of those lonely days where Hongjoong had visited you by chance. The air was getting colder now and so was the wariness in your bones.
You looked at Hades' sharp features, his dark eyes that never seemed to leave your movements, always following you with some kind of longing light in them which would disappear as quickly as they had flitted in.
You sorely missed Spring, the luscious green fields with trees, fruits and flowers. The Spring lowers must have been the thing you missed most and the festivities...since the harvest season had faded, the mortals didn't even have any festivities.
"You seem to be deep in thought," Hades commented dryly and you chuckled back, slightly annoyed at his abrupt statement.
"I am. Deep in worries," you bit back nonchalantly, pulling your green robes around your body.
"What worries you?" Hades asked, a concerned lilt to his voice and you could only shrug back at him.
"Life is trickling away and before I know it, it will be winter."
Hades fell quiet at that and looked towards the grass-covered ground. Only the spot he was standing on was burnt black to ashes whereas your spot and the patches around you were looking greener than ever.
You never made Hongjoong feel inferior for killing everything around him but this was one of the times he couldn't help but feel so.
"I'm sorry I cannot help it," he apologised, voice laden with sorrow and misery.
"I wish you were free of your worries," he added after and you could only sigh, ย pressing your hands into the luscious grass and bringing forth one lonely camellia flower.
Hades' eyes widened at the sight of the pinkish-red flower sprouting from the Earth. It was something he had never seen, with the soil of the Underworld not being able to sustain any life and him killing everything he touched, watching you bloom a flower was almost a miracle.
"What flower is this?" He asked, dark eyes twinkling at the sight of life, no matter how fleeting it was going to be if he touched it.
"It's called a camellia," you whispered, catching one of the falling petals and handing it to Hades.
"What does it mean?" Hades asked as he delicately cupped the petal in his palm.
"It means longing," you said and looked towards the now dark sky, waiting for the moon to reach its prime.
Hades fell quiet at that again and vanished in a cloud of black smoke, leaving the crickets and other nightly creatures in your company.
"I'd like to see the Underworld," you told Hades as you wove dead daisies in a chain, trying to be as delicate as possible of the withered petals.
"You do not," Hades replied and you frowned, rather miffed at how the God was deciding for you.
"Yes, I do," you pushed and Hades sighed. You could hear resignation deep within his body, the fibres lingering between death and life while every fibre in yours lived and breathed the soul of the living.
"You'll be unhappy there. The last thing I want is for you to be unhappy," Hades said and although his words warmed your heart like sunshine in the spring, you were determined to visit the home of the God you had got so close to.
"As your friend, I would like to get to know you better," you urged and Hades gave you an odd look.
"My friend?" He asked and you nodded, a smile on your face as you handed him the chain of dead daisies.
He refused your gift first, scared of killing it but you softly shook your head, taking his hands in your and placing the flowers in them.
"You can't kill something that is already dead."
And Hades never forgot the shape and weight of the flowers in his hand, the ones he had touched for the very first time.
Hades sat opposite you, a silver chalice full of wine between his fingers with the same forlorn look on his face. He had been adorning a rather unpleasant look on his face ever since he brought you down to the Underworld. It was even worse when you refused to eat anything in the Underworld, scared that even a drop of water would trap you. Hongjoong had tried everything to reassure you but to no avail.
"Hongjoong," he uttered, placing the chalice down with a clink, turning to you with a small frown on his face.
"What?" You asked, shocked at the God uttering his first words to you in what you could only imagine had been an hour or so. He had after all spent the time sulking around you like a kicked puppy.
"Hongjoong. That's my name. Call me Hongjoong," he said and went back to sipping his wine, turning his face away from you.
You nodded blindly, eyes wide at the implications of Hades, Lord of the Underworld telling you to call him by his name.
"(Y/n)," you replied back, and Hongjoong turned to you with a confused look.
"(Y/n), that's my name. Not Persephone, (Y/n). Call me (Y/n)," you said and smiled.
Hongjoong felt something warm unfurl in his heart and in the thousands of years he had felt cold and alone, the feeling of warmth from something other than fire was a foreign one.
The Underworld was more different than you thought it would be. You had always pictured sinful howls and pained screams but the only sound that ever reached your ears while in the Underworld was the ghostly whispers that felt like caresses on your skin and the low hum of the river Styx.
"Where is the hell fire?" You asked abruptly, gazing at the pointy black tourmaline crystals that looked dull in the faint lighting in the Underworld.
"Hell fire?" Hongjoong asked, taking your hand softly and running his thumb over your knuckles.
The action made you blush, something akin to nervousness fluttering in your stomach at Hongjoong's touch. You never would have guessed that the God of the dead was someone whose touch could be so gentle.
"Yes, the hellfire. And where are all tortured souls? What about cerberus?"
Hongjoong cracked a smile at your questions, amused that out of all the rumours, you chose to believe the one about hellfire and tortured souls.
"Not only sinful souls come to the underworld. The underworld is a home for all dead. Elysium exists for a reason," Hongjoong explained, pulling you closer and into his grasp.
You were never one who shied away from physical touch but there was something about Hongjoong's that had you feeling wild with butterflies. He touched you in the most innocent way possible, the way childhood friends would hold hands and joke around with each other.
You had known him for a handful of time, but you couldn't deny the bubbling of emotions you were developing.
"And Tartarus is too below for us to hear anything."
You nodded mutely at his words, taking in everything as you gazed at his gorgeous features. Somehow they matched with the lighting of the underworld, piercing but so beautiful when embraced.
"Don't tell me Cerberus doesn't exist," you said, a smile on your face.
Hongjoong rolled his eyes playfully, shifting the heavy black robes around his body before chuckling.
"And if I told you that Cerberus was actually an adorable little puppy?"
You gasped, hand slipping out of his as it flew to your mouth.
"Do not lie," you said, eyes twinkling at the preposterousness of Hongjoong's words.
But the other didn't say reply, merely sat back in his chair and smiled, something rather cheeky in his expression.
Time moved differently in the Underworld and to some extent, you had gotten a grasp of exactly how to tell what time of day it was in the mortal world by looking at the positions of the moon.
Hongjoong was a great companion, even though he was sometimes stand-offish and cold. He had his moods but at the end of the day, it was always you, he came back to.
But something felt off, even to you when Hongjoong returned to his bed chambers, a melancholic look on his face as you greeted him with a smile.
"What's the matter?" You asked, pressing yourself close to him as he hung his head low.
"Word from my brother was delivered by Hermes today."
And somehow, you felt like you knew what he was talking about.
"Is it about Demeter?"
Hongjoong pursed his lips, a bleak expression taking over his face as he nodded at you, handing you the parchment that was stamped with Zeus' signature lightning bolt.
"He says that winter has come early and even the winter harvest crops are dying because Demeter refuses to do anything until you return to him."
You stayed silent, listening to Hongjoong as you skimmed over the contents of the letter, confirming what the God was telling you.
"At this rate, the mortal world will perish soon due to starvation and cold," Hongjoong sighed and you bit your lip, feeling lost and rather ashamed.
"I must return to the mortal world," you stated silently, knowing that it would be best to hash it out with Seonghwa instead of letting mortals selfishly die.
"I will return you," Hongjoong stated deadly and he held you close that night, hands curled in your hair as if you were never going to see each other again.
Feelings lost in duty and love to never be found again.
"Seonghwa," you whispered his name, soft as it got lost in the winter breeze.
The male snapped his gaze upwards from where he was seated, dead bushels of wheat at his feet his face hardened into a glare before softening into something maternal.
"(Y/n)," he whispered, rushing up to hug you and hold you close.
From the corner of your eyes, you watched as Hongjoong receded into the shadows of the temple, out of view from the mortals who were swarming with their scarce offering to appease the God.
"I thought I lost you," Seonghwa muttered, cupping your cheeks in his hands as unshed tears pooled in his eyes.
"You didn't," you said, smiling and covering one of his hands with yours.
"I'm here now and I won't disappear again."
So, you spent the next six months with Seonghwa, working hard in the winter even though the cold sucked the life out of your bones. The winter flowers never seemed to satisfy you as much as the spring ones did but as long as the mortals were surviving, you would too.
It was when spring had come around again when you felt the absence of Hongjoong's presence in your life. It seemed as though the God had completely left you alone, only the occasional black wisps of smoke serving as a reminder that he was always watching over you.
Camellias had bloomed everywhere and Seonghwa had taken to teasing you, saying that you were longing for your love. But what he didn't know, wouldn't hurt him.
The moon was in its prime when you were seated at the river banks, the water tumbling over the rocks as it took on the moon's silvery sheen.
"We have terrible timing," a voice sounded from behind you and you turned with a soft smile to greet the one person you had missed so sorely.
"No we don't," you reprimanded, handing one of the camellias you had pressed in a book to him.
Hongjoong took the flower carefully, brushing the soft petals before sighing, watching as it turned to ashes and fell to the grass beneath him.
"How come you do not visit," you whispered, somewhat heartbroken at the absence of Hongjoong's visits.
"Demeter would not like it and the last thing I want is to be reprimanded by him like a child," Hongjoong muttered and you giggled, so amused by the fact that Hades, the God of the Underworld was scared of getting an earful from Seonghwa.
"He can be difficult," you agreed and laid your head on Hongjoong's shoulder, breathing in the scent of pines that always seemed to come from him.
"But he raised me, treated me like a sister and I am forever grateful," you said, playing with Hongjoong's long fingers, both of you overlooking the river as the water hummed.
Hongjoong remained silent, not quite sure what to say in response. He knew how important Seonghwa was to you, how important you were to him. The God had put mortals through an entire winter of starvation until he got you back Hongjoong knew that Seonghwa was no one to be messed with.
But God, he was selfish. He wanted you all to himself, to protect you from anything that could ever harm a hair on your head. He dreamt of making you the Queen of the Underworld, a crown with black tourmaline crystals and green-gold robes fit for the one who rules the dead.
"Will you ever come back to me?"
Was the only question Hongjoong could muster. It was a soft whisper that fell from his life with an air of loneliness you had never seen surround the God.
"What do you mean?"
Hongjoong sighed, clasping your hand with his calloused one. They were black of the soot of the dead and the souls of the tortured but you found them mesmerising all the same.
"The Underworld feels darker without my love."
You smiled softly, raising your free hand to cup Hongjoong's cheek, him leaning into your touch.
"My love...you've never called me that before," you said, stroking away dark strands of hair from his forehead.
"For someone who has never experienced love, it is a foreign feeling."
"Then how do you know it is love?" You whispered, resting your hand on his chest.
Hongjoong smiled, something you seldom saw him do and it made your heart flutter, something akin to flames licking at your stomach as heat flowed through your body.
You've felt love before and it feels so horribly familiar to something like this...
"Hmm," Hongjoong hummed, tilting his head and he looked like such a sweet thing, it was hard to believe death was ever associated with something so...so saccharine.
"When you spend as long with the dead as I have, there is hardly anything that comes out of lying."
And the explanation was so simple. It was as if he just knew what he was feeling was love and nothing else.
"Then kiss me, my love," you boldly replied and pulled Hongjoong closer, lips meeting in between life and death.
There was nothing sweeter.
Summer had transitioned into something warmer, the heat settling deep into the skin as you lingered around the same spot near the river banks, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, something, anything.
You knew there would be a low chance of seeing him out in the broad daylight but the hope never seemed to dim in your heart and every day began with one thought and ended with the same: Hongjoong.
"Seonghwa, please, I just want to know if he is okay," you begged, following the male around the small kitchen of your cottage in the forest.
You had been begging him for permission to visit Hongjoong in the Underworld, there was a sort of itch under your skin that you figured only Hongjoong would be able to scratch.
"(Y/n), he is dangerous," Seonghwa said, pinching the bridge of his nose with an exasperated sight.
"No, he is not. I can swear on it," you said firmly.
You never argued or fought with Seonghwa much but you were going to stand your ground this time.
Seonghwa returned your argument with a sharp glare, every living plant in the house suddenly withering due to all the negative energy he was pouring out.
"Seonghwa..." you trailed off, approaching him with slow steps and your hand outstretched.
"(Y/n), he is dangerous," Seonghwa repeated, brushing his thumb over the swell of your cheek.
"And he will not hurt me," you whispered back.
The older male could only sigh, tipping his head back as he inhaled deeply.
"The mortals need you, you cannot stay in the Underworld," Seonghwa tried to reason again but he knew he had already started a losing game.
"I will come back to you, I promised that I would never disappear."
You could see the tired lines on Hongjoong's face, the ashy complexion that seemed to cling to him like a ghost in the Underworld.
"My love, you look so tired," you said, cupping his cheeks in your hand and stroking the skin under his eyes.
Hongjoong gave you a weak laugh, "Not when you are here."
It seemed so cheesy, something so romantically outrageous for the manifestations of life and death to fall in love.
"How long are you staying?"
You didn't answer his question, choosing to look around Hongjoong's throne room once before selecting a corner that looked pretty lonely.
"Not so soon," you replied, crouching down onto the ground and digging your hands into the dead soil of the Underworld.
And what Hongjoong had never seen in all his years of ruling, life sprouted from dead soil, leaves uncurling as they blossomed into flowers and branches.
"How...?"
"They are fruits of death and fertility. The mortals call them pomegranates."
The insides were redder than the lifeline but each seed represented something so special to Hongjoong. You opened Hongjoong's palm, dropping six little ruby-like seeds into them.
I know I've been gone for a while but I'm here right now to explain what's been going on.
To put it frankly, I haven't had the time to really write anything substantial enough to give you guys, I'm so grateful for everyone who takes the time to read everything I've ever written on this blog and I'd hate to give you half-hearted work which is what I've been writing for the last few months...
Call this laziness, but I think it's just writer's block and lack of time considering that I am in the last year of high school. People around me are getting badly infected with covid so it's been pretty overwhelming as well.
I do hate to tell you this but I will be taking a small break from writing on this blog. The Dazzling Light series will be put on hold because while writing Hongjoong's piece, I felt like I was going in circles with no substantial plot or development.
I'll be back soon and till then, I'd like to thank you all for reading my pieces and also apologise for this abrupt break. I hope you all understand and I promise I will be back with Dazzling light series as soon as I get myself together!!

"Mingi, this isn't one of those hidden-camera pranks, right?" You giggled, eyes covered by Mingi's large hands as he guided you through the house.
"How dare you," Mingi gasped from behind you, his deep laugh ringing into your ear as you tried to get just a peek of where he was taking you through the gap in his fingers but the sneaky boy kept his fingers tightly squeezed together.
"Don't even try to peek," he said, stopping for a moment to plant a kiss on your cheek from a rather awkward angle.
"If only you'd tell me," you sassed and Mingi let out another excited laugh, like a little child who was being given a surprise by his parents.
"I promise you're going to like it, okay?" he said and you decided to drop the topic, putting full trust in your boyfriend.
"Don't let me fall," you warned, hands instantly shooting out when Mingi faked a trip.
"Mingi!"
The tall boy laughed and you could just imagine him tipping his head back, teeth on display while his eyes turned into smiley crescent.
You loved this boy with all your heart.
"I would never," he said and continued moving, stopping right before what you could only gauge was the....kitchen?
"Why are we in the kitchen?" you asked, confused when all you wanted to do was take a shower and then cuddle with your boyfriend.
When you heard no response from him, you moved your hands behind, trying to feel for him when he laughed again.
"My hands are still on your eyes, you know," and you fought the urge to roll your eyes, knowing that Mingi would know.
"Okay, wait here, I'm done yet," he said, quickly slipping a blindfold to cover your eyes, messing up your hair and removing his hands.
"You have zero trust in me," you stated blandly and heard Mingi snigger from one corner of what you still presumed to be the kitchen.
"In matters like this, absolutely."
And then the room fell silent again, only the occasional shuffling of Mingi across the floor being heard.
"Okay," Mingi said, taking your blindfold off and then quickly running to the other side of the room.
It took a while for the blurriness in your eyes to clear, fists rubbing at them for clearer vision but whatever you had expected, it was definitely not this.
"Happy birthday to you~" Mingi sang, head adorning a party hat as he hid his face behind a huge cake.
"What-" you cleared your hair out of your face, rubbing your eyes one more time to make sure you weren't in some sort of dream.

You couldn't help but smile at the sight of your boyfriend, his handsome face illuminated by nothing by the warm glow of a candle shaped in the number zero.
"It was the only one they had available," Mingi shrugged, handing you a knife with an indication to blow the candle.

Maybe it was because you were lonely in your life. Maybe, it was because you were bored and too out of the dating scene to ever find an ounce of hope even in the mutuals of mutuals your friends tried to introduce to you.
Maybe it was because you had always wanted a pet but your overbearing parents had always managed to convince you otherwise.
You didn't quite know the reason as to why you ended up standing in front of the shelter on your day off but what you did know was that by the end of today, you would have a new addition to your lonely apartment.
Walking in, again, you weren't very sure about what type of pet you wanted, just that you wanted one and the constant yapping of the shelter worker named Wooyoung, really wasn't helping.
"Oh! We have cats, I think you look like a cat person, are you a cat person?"
You had tried to interrupt him many times, trying to say that no, you were not a cat person and that you would rather he yap your ear off about dogs instead.
"Actually maybe-"
But the boy never listened and just rattled off about the various cat species they had rescued in the past month.
You could see that he wasn't really paying attention to anything you were doing or trying to say, so you took the opportunity to wander off, cooing at the dogs who wagged their tails in delight or pressed their noses to the window in a wet mess.
Very part of you was filled with love and endearment at the cute fluffy creatures that were barking and yipping at you, almost as if they were calling out to you, 'take me home, take me home'.
"I definitely didn't see you as a dog person," Wooyoung mumbled from behind you and you shrugged, not really interested in hearing another one of his rambles.
"Yes, well. I don't know how I came off as a cat person to you," you suggested back and bit back a laugh at the way Wooyoung visibly blanched.
"Is there any particular breed you're looking for?" Wooyoung asked after a bit of silence and you shrugged again, not quite sure of anything except the fact that you were a dog person.
"Okay..." Wooyoung trailed off and went towards one of the rooms, coming back with the cutest puppy you had ever seen in your entire life.
It had black floppy ears hanging over its head and a small tuft of white hair on its chest in the middle of all the midnight fur.
You couldn't control the coo that left your lips.
"Aw, aren't you the cutest little thing ever," and maybe you sounded like a grandmother but God, the puppy was so darn cute.
You opened your mouth to ask Wooyoung for the details of the puppy when a voice sounded behind you.
"I'll take him."
You coughed loudly, getting over your initial shock to turn and face the man who so rudely had interrupted your opportunity to get the perfect companion.
"Excuse me-"
"Can you draw up the adoption papers, please?" The man continued, completely ignoring your presence and looking at Wooyoung instead, who had a big smile on his face.
"I want to adopt him too!" You said rather quickly, grabbing Wooyoung who was about to walk off and get the adoption papers for the man who had suddenly popped up from nowhere.
"Uh," Wooyoung looked at the both of you sheepishly before looking down at the puppy who was now snoozing in Wooyoung's arms.
"What they mean is," the man started, pulling you closer and wrapping one arm around your shoulder.
"Is that we'll take him, isn't that right sweetheart?"
Your eyes went wide as you registered the unknown man's words before throwing his arm off and facing him, ready to spew some swear words before you were interrupted by Wooyoung.
"Great! It's always nice to see a happy couple adopting. I'll go and get the papers!"
And with that, he left you and your 'boyfriend' in the corridor.
"What was that?" You asked, voice frustrated and annoyed as you looked up at the tall man in front of you. He had a small smile on his face as he observed you and held up collars in all the colours of the rainbow.
"What colour do you think will suit Oreo the best?" He asked, eyeing the red collar with interest with also the blue.
"Who is Oreo?" You asked rather snappily, still not over the fact that the man just swooped in and took your companion.
"Our puppy," he stated obviously, looking at you wildly as if you had grown two heads.
"Why...why Oreo? And 'our puppy'?"
You were confused now, brain not quite catching up to whatever the man in front of you was implying.
"You know...Oreo...the black cookies with the white cream in the middle. Looks very similar to our puppy, I thought it'd be cute name," he said, shrugging his shoulders in the same dismissive way you had been shrugging it at Wooyoung earlier.
"Our puppy?" You echoed again, and the man in front of you just blinked before smiling.
"Yeah! I could tell that you wanted to adopt him as well so why not just fake a relationship and then you can have him a couple of days of the week and then I can have him for the rest. I would say it's pretty smart, no?"
The man looked so proud as he explained his entire plan, hands moving animatedly as he gestured to where Wooyoung was standing a few moments ago to the collars in his hand.
After his entire explantation, he looks at you, eyes shining like they held the galaxy in them and you could only nod at his words.
"Okay, but we're registering my address as Oreo's home," you said, causing the male to smile.
"I would have it no other way."
"Also, blue," you mumbled, holding the door to the front office open.
"Huh?" The male asked, confused about your abrupt declaration of colour.
"Blue...for the collar," you stated and rolled your eyes, walking to Wooyoung who was waiting with the papers.
"I was thinking the same thing!"
"My name's Mingi, by the way," the male said, holding Oreo in his arms.
"(Y/n)," you supplied back, reaching behind the puppy's neck to clip the blue collar.
"Nice name," Mingi complimented and stroked Oreo's ears, the puppy nuzzling into Mingi's large hands.
"Right back at you," you said, feeling kind of awkward with the amount of short conversation that was going on.
"So, what days do you want custody of the little guy?"
You snorted at Mingi's words, them sounding too similar to how divorced parents would deal with their children.
"What, are we divorced parents or something?" You asked, unable to hide the small laugh that accompanied it.
"I mean sure. We live in separate houses but we have a little kid, do we not?"
You snorted again but nodded nonetheless, thinking back to your schedule.
"Uh, I can have him on the weekends. So, Thursday to Sunday?"
Mingi squinted, probably recalling his schedule too before he nodded.
"That's fine with me. Work gets hectic for me around the weekend anyways."
"Okay, now give me my little puppy," you said, cooing as you took the small bundle of fluff into your arms.
"Hi, little fella," you whispered, hands stroking over the tiny white tuft of hair.
"Say bye to Mingi now," you said, lifting one of Oreo's paws and imitating a waving motion.
Mingi laughed and waved back at the little puppy in a cute motion.
"Here's my number. Let me know if something comes up and text me your address so that I can pick up my son in a few days," he said, handing you a little piece of paper with his number and a smiley face on it.
"Cute," you smirked, looking at his doodle.
"I always am."
And with that, you parted ways, satisfied with becoming a mom and divorcee on the same day.
Before you knew it, it was already Monday and you had just picked up Oreo on Thursday.
"Come on little fella," you cooed, prodding the little puppy who was sleeping by your feet on the bed.
"Time for breakfast," you said, putting a mini bowl with Oreo's name on it on the floor and pouring some dog food in it.
Little patters of paws were heard on the floor when the puppy dashed into the living room, tripping over its own feet and tail trying to get to his food.
"Atta boy," you whispered, petting Oreo between the ears as he dug his face as deep as it could go into the bowl.
Pulling the hem of your t-shirt down further, you cracked your neck to get rid of the stiffness and yawned sleepily at the coffee that was dripping out of the machine when your doorbell rang, shrill and loud throughout the entire apartment.
Rubbing your eyes, you flattened out your hair and opened the door to find Mingi standing on the other side. He had a wide smile on his face, horribly wide for early on a Monday morning but the questioning look didn't even make him falter as he held up a bag of pastries and coffee.
"I'm here to have the one shared breakfast before I take Oreo for the week!"
You silently stepped out of the way, inviting Mingi into the apartment. The man walked in, a slight skip in his step as he set the bag of food down before going to search for his son.
"Oreo~" he called out, deep voice echoing through your apartment before an excited yip came in reply, followed by the clumsy pitter-patter of puppy paws.
"Baby!" Mingi squealed, bending down to scoop the puppy into his arms with a loud coo.
"Cute," you stated teasingly, looking at the father-son bonding with a smile on your face.
Mingi snorted and turned to face you with a roll of his eyes, "I'm always cute."
You just nodded in reply and moved to take out all the food items before mingi excitedly came next to you, removing one of the muffins from the bag and setting it next to Oreo.
"I don't think you can feed him that," you said, eyeing the cupcake warily, picking it up to smell or feel for anything weird.
"Ah, it's fine! They're called pupcakes and this bakery near my house sells them!"
You watched in amusement as Mingi tore the muffin into bits and placed them into Oreo's food bowl.
"He just had breakfast though," you stated, sipping on one of the coffees.
Mingi shook his head and scratched the spot behind Oreo's ears, "He's a growing pup, he needs everything he can get."
"Do you have everything you need at your place?" You asked, changing the topic before munching on a muffin of your own.
Mingi nodded from his place on the floor, "Yeah, I'll just take the bowl and maybe a few toys. Which brand of dog food do you give him?"
You pointed to the large five-kilo pack of dog food you had bought a few days ago.
"It's the puppy version, the vet said that he needs to eat version specifically and...oh! He's due for another shot in a few days," you said, handing Mingi the vaccine schedule.
"Oh, I'll get that done then. Just give me the address of the vet?"
You nodded and texted him the address. His name was right at the top of your contacts list. Ever since getting Oreo, the two of you had been texting nonetheless. While your conversation mostly consisted of him begging for Oreo's pictures and you spamming with the same, you found that Mingi was an easy guy to be around. He didn't have any super complex or an overzealous partner who demanded his whereabouts every other second. He was just a puppy dad with a puppy son and you were more than happy that you ended up with him as a divorced spouse, you could definitely deal with him.
You moved about the house after breakfast picking up all of Oreo's toys. There weren't many because Oreo being a young puppy was always asleep, curled on top of the place where the blanket was bunched up the most. He was a blanket hogger, to say the least, and if he wasn't sleeping, he'd be looking for things to chew on, prancing about your apartment with clumsy steps. The small, shallow teeth scratches on the legs of your chair were proof enough.
Handing the little bag of toys to Mingi, you almost broke into tears at seeing the little guy all packed up to go.
"You'll see him in a few days," Mingi said, eyes rolling from all the exaggerated drama you were pulling.
"But he's my baby," you cried, reaching to nuzzle into Oreo's black fur.
"Sorry, but he's my baby for now," Mingi teased, pulling Oreo away from you.
"Did you put everything?" He asked, peeking into the bag and rummaging through it.
"Yeah, along with a basic schedule for you. Just so that he gets familiar with some sort of routine."
Mingi nodded and slung the small bag over his large form. It looked like some toddler had forced their cosplay item on him but you just shook your head, a little laugh leaving your lips.
"Make sure to send me pictures and call me if anything goes wrong!" You called behind him, watching his retreating form throw you a thumbs up.
"See you Thursday!"
And as you closed the door behind him, you were surrounded by the quietness of your apartment. Only scratch marks, teeth marks and Oreo's large bed left as a reminder that you were not alone anymore.
You had a puppy son...and with him was a puppy dad. Like a bad one plus one deal.
You were hanging out with one of your friends, Jongho when your phone lit up with millions of texts from Mingi, the device vibrating so much that you could feel it through the table.
"A boyfriend?" Jongho asked, stealing some food off your plate.
You sighed and pinched the bridge of your nose when you saw the first notification from Mingi.

Removing all the notifications from your lock screen, you dialled Mingi's number, leg tapping anxiously, worried that something had happened.
The line rang a few times before you heard Mingi's voice over the phone. He sounded oddly out of breath as if he had been running a marathon.

"(Y/n), hey," Mingi said, panting and mumbling something under his breath.
From across you, Jongho raised his eyebrows at you before going back to eating off your plate.
You raised your eyebrows at him, the boy just shrugging at you before eating yet another piece of salad off your plate.
"Everything's fine- Oreo, no! Down, boy," Mingi started but ended up yelling and you had to pull the phone away from your ear with a wince.
"I'm coming over right now," you said with a determined voice and cut the phone before Mingi could argue.
"Stop eating off my plate and gather your things. I need to go and see my son," you said, paying the bill and shoving everything into your bag.
"Son?" Jongho asked, following you out of the cafe in a hurry, struggling to keep up with your fast steps.
"Yes, son."
"Since when did you have a son!"
The walk from the cafe to Mingi's place was supposed to take twenty minutes but you reached his doorstep in ten minutes, followed by a heavily panting and out of breath Jongho.
Before you could even ring the doorbell, the door swung wide open and a tall boy with white hair popped his head out.
"Heyy...are you (Y/n)?" The tall boy said and quickly turned his head when a small crash and Mingi's cursing was heard from inside.
"Was that Mingi?" You asked, slightly alarmed and also wary of what was going on.
"Yes...and no," the tall boy answered and quickly shut the door in your face, leaving you extremely confused.
"What just happened?" You asked Jongho who was standing next to you.
Jongho looked at you with the same confused expression.
"Uh...I have no idea?"
But his words came out more like a question than an answer.
You rang the doorbell again and it was Mingi who answered this time.
"So I didn't get the wrong house," you stated dryly and narrowed your eyes at Mingi who was nervously rubbing his neck.
"Sorry, that was my roommate Yunho. I was a bit preoccupied."
"Yeah, no shit," you said, fiddling with the small rip in the man's shirt.
"Oh..that...Oreo's been a bit of a handful," he admitted, clamping his hand consciously over the rip in his shirt.
"He's a darling," you countered and Mingi just sighed, stepping aside and letting you inside.
You had anticipated some damage. Maybe some scratch marks and maybe some tooth marks in the chairs but definitely not what had greeted you.
Some form of stuffing was flying everywhere with bits of paper that had been torn to shreds. You found Yunho with a broom in his hand sweeping up whatever could be before he brought out the vacuum cleaner.
"How does a puppy do this?" You asked and Mingi just exhaled shakily, not quite sure to answer you.
"He still hasn't left some of the papers. They're papers for work but he just right through them," Mingi said, sounding really defeated.
"You lost to a puppy," you stated, jabbing the taller male with your words.
"Just...Oreo!" Mingi called and you heard a flurry of papers before your son appeared in front of you with a small stack of papers in his mouth.
"He just won't leave them. I even tried to bribe him with treats," Mingi said and flopped down on the bed.
You frowned, crouching down on the floor and beckoned the puppy with your hand.
"Come here, boy," you said and fished one of the dog treats you had in your bag.
The puppy pattered towards you, papers dangling from its mouth.
"Drop, boy," you said, voice firm, holding the treat out in front of him.
Oreo trudged forwards and sniffed the treat before dropping the paper and scampering away with the treat.
You picked up the stack of papers and turned to the three boys who were standing behind you.
"I don't know how you managed this..." you said, gesturing to the mess that Yunho was still cleaning up, "But here you go."
You thrust the stack of papers into Mingi's hand who was still looking at you with big wide eyes.
"How did you...what did you..." Mingi gave up, throwing his hands with a huff before he walked out of the room.
"Thank you so much," Yunho said, offering you and Jongho a smile before he went back to sweeping everything.
"Let's go?" Jongho asked and you exhaled, nodding frantically.
"Your son is really cute," Jongho added nonchalantly, trying to make conversation as he walked you home.
"I didn't know he could be such a handful."
"I think it was just the dad," Jongho said carefully and you just sighed, nodding along to your friend's words.
"I wouldn't even be surprised."
Thursday morning found itself with Mingi and Oreo at your doorstep. They had arrived sometime in the afternoon and it was safe to say that Mingi was looking exhausted.
You raised your eyebrows in question as you let him in, but he just shook his head.
"The guy doesn't sleep and just walks around the house at night like a ghost. I feel so scared that he's going to chew on something, I can't even sleep," he muttered, throwing his head back with a groan.
It had been a month or so since Mingi and you had adopted Oreo but the puppy had grown so big already. He was definitely not at the size to be carried around anymore but never hesitated to jump into your or Mingi's laps with his big body.
"Do you want me to take him for this entire week? You can come and collect him next Monday, you look like you could use a break," you said while setting the table for lunch.
Mingi looked at you with a pout. He was feeling so guilty but maybe you were right...
"Are you sure?"
You nodded your head, putting down Oreo's bowl with food inside it.
"He behaves so well with me. Join us for our walk today and you'll see then," you said and handed Mingi a plate full of food.
"Alright then, I guess it's set. I'll go and visit my parents next week then. They've been asking me to drive down anyways," he said and the look of relief that passed on his face almost made you laugh.
Oreo didn't stop barking and jumping about the minute you picked up his leash. The smallest clink of the hook had Oreo become the little monster Mingi knew him to be and it took you five whole treats to finally get him settled and leashed.
"I swear, he's going to get fat," you said, tucking a few extra treats into your bag while handing Mingi the bottle of water attached to a collapsable rubber bowl.
"With the amount of running around he does? I don't think so," he said and opened the door, heading down the stairs and towards the park.
The weather was bright and sunny with a pleasant breeze blowing through. Oreo's black ears were flapping everywhere as the three of you walked towards the park.
Mingi had started with the leash in his hand, fingers playing with the button that made the leash retract at will.
Oreo, being the ever-curious puppy he was, couldn't help but sniff around everywhere, nose leading him in different directions as Mingi was pulled around, forced to follow the small puppy everywhere to avoid any harsh tugging on Oreo's neck.
Halfway to the park, Oreo got impatient and started to tug on the leash, chewing up and down as Mingi tried to get the puppy to walk straight.
"Oreo, stop," he said firmly, tugging on the leash from his side as well, getting the puppy as riled up as possible.
"Oreo," Mingi warned but the puppy only growled in response and tugged the leash harder, causing you to laugh and pull a treat out of your bag.
"Good boy, drop the line and I'll give this to you if you promise to behave like a good boy for the rest of the trip," you said and crouched down next to the puppy who had suddenly lost all interest in the leash.
"Attaboy," you cooed, petting the puppy between his two fluffy ears.
Mingi made an odd sound, somewhere between a groan, a choke and a whine. He silently handed you the leash before taking the bag of toys and other puppy requirements off you.
"He's a good boy...he just needs some love," you said and smiled at the giant man.
"I give him a lot of love...he just doesn't accept it," he whined and then looked right at you.
"I wonder who he takes after."
You choked on your words as you processed Mingi's.
"Why was that so passively aggressive?"
Mingi shrugged nonchalantly and popped one of the biscuits from your bag into his mouth.
"Imagine whatever you-"
"Those are not for human consumption, Mingi spit it out!"
Safe to say that Oreo was not pleased with Mingi that day.
Mingi spent the following few days preparing to drive down to his parents'.
He was sweeping up all Oreo's leftover endeavours when Yunho peeked into the room with a vacuum cleaner.
"I figured you would need this," he said and Mingi thanked him before discarding all the chewed up toy stuffing.
"Where's your dog mom?" He asked, very used to you always making abrupt appearances at their doorstep to spend the day with Mingi the dog dad.
"Oh, we went to the park yesterday with Oreo and now they have him for the entire of next week," Mingi explained, running the vacuum cleaner all over the floor, watching the bits of stray stuffing and paper get sucked into the machine.
"Oh okay," Yunho said but Mingi could almost feel how relieved his roommate was about having a break from the adorable little hellion.
Yunho loved Oreo to bits and was ecstatic when Mingi had mentioned that he had adopted a puppy but the sheer stress of a small (now not so small) puppy scampering around the house after midnight and opening all sorts of doors without knowing how to close them, was just too much.
"Are you done packing?"
Mingi looked from where he was cleaning the last bit of loose stuffing and nodded.
"The bags are all in the car, it's only some stuff that I need to put in. I'll start the drive down early in the morning tomorrow," he said and then put the vacuum cleaner away, heading to his room to finish whatever miscellaneous packing was left.
Having your little puppy companion around the house for longer than four days was a very welcome but new feeling for you.
Instead of waking up on Monday morning waiting for Mingi to come and take Oreo, you leashed the little guy up and decided to go around the city for an early morning walk.
Both of you had fallen into a good routine in a very short period and worked like clockwork around each other.
The first few days of the week went by in puppy bliss, waking up to Oreo licking your face every morning instead of the alarm but on a Saturday afternoon, when Jongho wasn't free and Oreo was snoozing away on your bed, you found yourself missing Mingi, tempted to text him but not doing so.
He was at his parents' house, taking a break from having to deal with Oreo and you for a week and you guessed that the last thing he wanted to see was a text from you.
It had been a week already and you had received no indication from Mingi that he was back in the city. Even though you would never admit it to anybody (even on your deathbed), you were missing Mingi poorly and maybe, just maybe, you were projecting onto your little puppy.
"Don't you miss your dad, buddy?" you cooed out to a sleeping Oreo but the snore that the puppy gave in reply just concluded that it was really only you who was missing Mingi.
Which is how you found yourself standing at his doorstep with Oreo's things and him on a leash, not very happy about being woken up from his nap.
"(Y/n)," Yunho greeted as soon as you rang the doorbell.
"Is Mingi home?" You asked, swaying back and forth on the balls of your feet, hoping to see one tall guy make an appearance behind his equally tall roommate.
"I was just going to ring you up! Mingi asked me to tell you that he's decided to stay for a few more days...some family stuff..." Yunho explained, not very descriptively but the sheepish and sorry smile he sent you was enough to indicate that even he didn't quite know why Mingi hadn't come home either.
"Alright, thanks. Sorry for bothering you," you said and offered Yunho a smile.
"Mingi's not come back yet," you pouted, speaking to Jongho over the phone.
"Your boyfriend?" He asked, not quite listening but also teasing.
"He's not my boyfriend. He's my son's father," you explained, not really making the situation sound any better.
"If you say that to a stranger, they'll think you're crazy."
You rolled your eyes and scoffed, half annoyed at Jongho's teasing before groaning and slumping down on your sofa further.
"What am I supposed to do? Oreo just sleeps all day long and doesn't even play with me!"
Jongho chuckled on the other side of the line and then you heard some shuffling and whispers before his voice sounded again.
"San and I are going on a trip over the weekend, you can come along if you like, bring the puppy also?" Jongho asked and then was interrupted by some aggressive whispers from next to him.
"Okay, no San says that if you're coming you have to bring the puppy."
You huffed and crossed your arms over your chest, forgetting that neither Jongho nor San could see your irritated expression.
"Where are you going?" You asked, voice suggesting slight interest in the idea. At least this way, you'd be occupied and distracted until Mingi decided to come back.
"To the beach," Jongho said vaguely but you were already pretty set on going anyways.
"Alright, count me in. You better have enough space in the car for the puppy and me," you warned playfully making Jongho laugh and San cheer in victory.
You hung up and gazed at the puppy who was still snoozing away on your bed. Sighing, you decided that you might as well get packing before you have a hyper puppy on your hands.
Mingi stood at your doorstep the next morning, a small bouquet of sunflowers and take out bag breakfast (pupcakes included) in his hands as cleared his throat and prepared to ring the doorbell to your house.
His hand hovered over the small white button when you swung the door wide open, hauling a suitcase behind you and a sleepy Oreo.
"Uh, hi, where are you going?" Mingi let out a bit awkwardly, holding up the bag of breakfast that had become somewhat of a tradition for both of you.
You looked in surprise, shocked to see Mingi standing at your door when Yunho had clearly mentioned that he wouldn't be back for another couple of days.
"You're here," you said, blinking at the tall man rather stupidly.
"Yes, I'm here?" Mingi let out again, not quite sure where you headed.
"Uh, where are you going?"
You gazed around at your luggage which consisted of one suitcase and a small bag for Oreo's things.
"Oh! Uh, Jongho invited me for a weekend trip to the beach and told me to bring Oreo along as well and since Yunho told me that you'd be away for a few more days, I agreed!"
Your words were rushed and flustered as you tried to coax the sleepy puppy awake before leashing him up.
"I'll catch you next week yeah?" You called out before locking the door behind you and speeding down the staircase to Jongho and San who were waiting in the car.
"Uh...yeah," Mingi said, taken aback by the intensity of everything.
While he wouldn't admit it to anyone (okay, maybe except Yunho), he had come back early because he missed you and Oreo terribly. Being around his family was fun but spending time with his puppy mom and son was even better.
But with a rather heavy heart, he watched both of you get into the car.
He'd definitely have to catch you next week.
It took another whole week before you and Mingi were finally in the same city together.
When the puppy dad had first received the text message of your arrival, he wasted no time in rushing to the bakery near his house, buying his staple pupcakes, muffins and coffee before going to your house with a wide smile on his face.
"That was...fast?" You said, tilting your head in confusion, having sent Mingi the message about your arrival just ten minutes prior. You had yet to unpack your bag and set Oreo's food down when Mingi showed up at your doorstep.
"I missed my son," Mingi stated obviously, rushing past you to greet the puppy who was tittering around the house all clumsily. He had grown even bigger than the last time Ming saw him which was a week or two ago.
"Oreo~ my sweet baby," Mingi cooed, bending down to gather the puppy into his arms, nuzzling into its black and white fur, just like that of an Oreo cookie.
"Did you miss me?" He asked, scratching the puppy's belly and stroking his ears.
You snorted from the other side of the room, amused at the scene of Mingi and his son reunited.
"If you saw the way he was chasing crabs on the beach, you wouldn't think he missed you at all," you said, sitting next to Mingi who had moved to the sofa and leaning on his shoulder a bit.
"Ah, it's been a busy few weeks for both of us," you sighed out, head not leaving Mingi's shoulder as the tall man blushed from head to toe like a giddy schoolboy.
"I-it has," he stuttered out and Oreo gave out a small yip at Mingi's fingers which had stopped stroking his ears.
"Sorry little guy," he apologised and went right back to stroking the puppy's ears.
For the past week, Mingi had thought long and hard, often bothering Yunho with his late-night mumbles and advice sessions that would often result in the both of them sitting in front of the tv and shovelling ice-cream in their mouth before Mingi would desperate bring up his developing feelings for you.
He had known you for a solid few months already and between all the shared walks you took together with Oreo and the early morning breakfasts or late lunches at each other's houses, he had gotten so comfortable with your presence that he found it hard to really let you go.
"You've been whining about it for a week now and I don't understand why you can't just tell (Y/n) about it," Yunho had chided, quite annoyed about being interrupted in his sleep.
"What if they reject me," Mingi had pouted, flopping right on top of Yunho who let out a pained 'oof'.
"Then you saw sorry and get over it."
And although that had not been the best advice, Yunho's whole point had basically just been about how Mingi should man up and confess regardless if apologies had to follow or not.
Your apartment was doused in silence with Oreo's occasional whining. The breakfast muffins that Mingi had gotten were still lying in their bag as all three of you just lounged on the sofa.
"Hey, (Y/n)," Mingi suddenly called out, and you hummed in reply, feeling quite relaxed, head still lax on Mingi's shoulder.
"How do you feel about going on a date with me?" His voice was unsure and hesitant. There was still the lingering doubt and fear of rejection but-
"Sure."
And your answer had definitely not been worth all the pining and whining Mingi had been doing to Yunho for the past week. It was simple and almost automatic as if you had the answer on your tongue and you had just been waiting for Mingi to ask it.
"Oh...o-okay," he stuttered out and then it was decided; you and Mingi were set for a date.
"Oreo~" you sang, voice airy and light as you called the small puppy who was pattering around your house.
"Guess who's moving in today~"
You carried boxes after boxes into your home, Mingi and Yunho carrying the heavier ones as they moved some of the clothing boxes into your room and the rest into the guest room for the time being.
"I don't think it's going to impact him that much," Mingi mused from the front door, where he was carrying another box into the house.
It had been almost a year and a half since you and Mingi had gotten together. Oreo was now looking like a full-grown dog, no longer a pup in appearance but definitely one in behaviour as his teething habits worsened.
"Make sure to put your shoes on the highest shelf," you called out and tried to distract the dog who was eyeing all the new shoes with a treat.
"I mean you were basically always at my house anyways," you said and picked him up, heaving a little at the weight of the dog before setting him down in front of his toys and away from the shoes.
"How do you even pick him up anymore, the dude's so heavy," Mingi mused, patting his thigh at Oreo who immediately jumped into the man's lap.
"I've been weight lifting at the gym," you said, a teasing smile on your face as Mingi snorts.
"Don't lie," he said and wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you in.
The scene was definitely domestic, the picture-perfect family with their dog.
Too bad you and Mingi started off as divorced spouses.
