I really hate it when I say “Please don’t yell at me” or “I don’t understand why you’re yelling at me” to parents/adults and they respond “I’m not yelling at you!”

I mean, sure, you didn’t scream. You scolded me in a very aggressive manner, but hey, you didn’t increase the volume of your voice that much.
