Requesting some more sick oliver!!!!
This is pretty much just a lil continuation of Oliver’s bout with the flu. Not too much emeto, but a ton of cuddles and fluff😊.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was around 2 in the morning when Oliver blinked awake. He felt cold. Despite the plush sheets on top of him and the arm around him, he felt so cold. He was shivering, but he could feel sticky sweat clinging to his forehead and the back of his neck.
And he could feel something climbing up his throat.
Shakily, he scooted closer to the edge of the bed and hung over the side, hovering over the bucket that Isaac had placed there. Oliver had hoped that Isaac was in a heavy enough sleep that he wouldn’t wake up, but he wasn’t surprised when his movement caused the blonde to stir and yawn.
“Olive?” Isaac mumbled, half asleep.
Oliver opened his mouth to answer Isaac, but it was like opening the flood gates and suddenly he was throwing up a stream of puke into the bucket, gripping it with one hand so he didn’t miss.
Behind him, he heard the blonde curse and climb off the bed. In just a few seconds, Isaac was crouching in front of him. Oliver felt fingers gently pushing hair away from his face, and he felt the bucket get taken from his shaky hold.
Isaac continued to hold up the bucket as Oliver managed to bring up two more pathetic streams of bile. After a round of dry heaving, Isaac knew he was empty.
Oliver fell back against the pillows with a groan. “This is horrible. I feel so crappy.”
Isaac cringed in sympathy, setting the bucket down and sitting on the edge of the bed, by Oliver’s hip. His fingers were still pushing back Oliver’s hair.
The black-haired boy looked up at the blonde, eyes wide and hazy with the high fever. Isaac didn’t need a thermometer to know that his fever had probably gone up instead of down.
“You think you could keep some medicine down?” Isaac asked, despite being pretty sure he knew the answer already.
Oliver shook his head, closing his eyes and leaning into Isaac’s touch.
The blonde sighed. On the pillow beside Oliver’s head, he could see the rag that he had run under cold water and placed on Olive’s forehead. It had long gone warm now.
He stopped petting Oliver’s hair—causing the sick boy to stir and groan softly—and he grabbed the rag and took it to the bathroom. He re-wet it with cold water and brought it back to the bedroom, but he didn’t place it on Oliver’s forehead.
“Hey, Olive, can you sit up for me real quick?”
Oliver blinked his eyes open before nodding. He shakily pushed himself up into a sitting position, one arm going around his aching gut while his other went to his pounding temple.
Isaac grabbed the bottom on Oliver’s shirt, lifting it slightly. “Lift your arms up,” he said softly.
After a beat, Oliver obeyed and lifted his arms. He trembled even more without the shirt, despite the fact that Isaac could feel heat radiating off of him.
Isaac also pulled the blankets all the way down to the foot of the bed, causing Oliver to frown and whimper slightly. “Isaac, it’s cold,” he said in a quiet, whiny voice.
Smiling sympathetically, Isaac took the rag in his hand and went around the bed, climbing back on. “I know,” he said softly. “Here, lay down.”
Still frowning, Oliver laid down again. When Isaac opened his arms for Oliver to cuddle up in his arms, the guy did it without thinking, craving the comfort.
Isaac could feel Oliver’s stomach gurgling fiercely against his own, aware that his best friend’s gut must be hurting like hell.
“This might feel awful, but bear with me, okay?” the blonde whispered.
Oliver only cuddled closer, nodding softly.
Isaac ran the cold, wet rag down Oliver’s spine, and Oliver let out a gasp at the coldness, flinching and shaking.
Isaac shushed him and whispered reassuring nonsense as he rubbed the rag all over Oliver’s back, his nape, his sides, his shoulders—
After a while, Oliver stopped shivering so much. The cold rag was cooling his skin, and he got a little used to it. But his grip around Isaac didn’t loosen. Isaac felt his best friend’s face nuzzling into his chest, and he couldn’t help but smile softly and hold the guy closer himself as he continued to rub with the rag.
“Isaac?” Oliver whispered.
“Hmm?”
“Thank you.”
The blonde smiled even wider, hugging his best friend even closer. “You’re welcome.” He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of Oliver’s head, but the black-haired boy didn’t feel it since he was already asleep again.
