Sorry, I meant to post about this a lot earlier!

So this au is based on an ftb Minecraft server I’m on with a few friends where we’re goofin around and kind of rping for fun and whatnot. As far as context goes, I like to think it takes place long after the events of Blood n Chaos, meaning Parvis’ Castle is mega fluxed over and Parvis had been sticking around Strife for a while as they figured out what to do (This also means Parv has been on a no-blood-magic-allowed kick and trying to find new things to keep him occupied!). As a time-staller and a way to keep Parv occupied, they set out to make a new temporary base to explore new mods and study thaumcraft a little bit.

It so happened that while we were exploring and getting a feel for the map that Strife died to a taint swarm in a tainted biome. The more he began to look into thaumcraft in order to try and push the taint back (this was useful, bc the more they learned, the more efficient they’d be at clearing out Parv’s castle), the more he got attacked in the biome, and he eventually began to become fluxed.

Of course, the more fluxed he became (his eyes were the first to change hue, then it began showing up on his fingers and spreading from there), the more alluring it became to visit the tainted biome to “study” and “analyze” the taint, meaning the faster it grew, etc... The mod pack we’re using it extremely old, in mc 1.7.10, so this is a much older version of thaumcraft and Ethereal blooms were the main go-to for a means of keeping the taint back.

Dfjsdfksdfjddsdksd you’ll have to excuse the dramatics, but we kinda went ham and we’ve been having a really fun time developing the story and changing skins and everything! I designed the flux to be kind of “electrical” in nature? Instead of being gooey, the fluxed bits of his skin give off this weird chalky substance, kind of like charred wiring.

There’s a lot developing in the story, so I can post more if anyone’s interested, but I thought I’d share the premise of the au and everything!!
