According to the report, FLUX-mimic is built on internet-scale video pre-training. Operators can teach a robot a new behavior through roughly 30 minutes of human demonstration, which the company contrasts with traditional robot programming workflows that typically require more than 30 hours of code work for comparable tasks.
Mimic said the model is currently being tested at an Audi facility in Hungary, where it has been applied to fine-grained assembly tasks that conventional programming reportedly struggles to handle. The pilot focuses on cases where task variability or complexity has historically made automation impractical, with the goal of shortening the engineering effort needed to retool robots for new production steps.
The announcement frames the approach as a way to make robot redeployment more practical in mixed-model manufacturing environments, where product changeovers are frequent.
