DM Advice 001
I wanted to touch base on the question @slytherin-assassin had about tips on DMing DMing is a pretty wide subject I have a lot of advice I would like to share but I am going to give a general answer now, and if people have more specific questions I would be happy answer them. …………………… When you are a DM you have to remember you are telling a collaborative story. The world and npcs you build react to the players all the time. The best advice I can give is for you to run and write a game that fits your players. If they want a more combat oriented game where they can min-max the numbers of their characters, try and go that way. If story and interactions between characters are more their interest, try and focus on those more. Every game will have both, but finding the balance that fits your players is key. Before I start to write a game, I try and ask my players what kind of game they are interested in and use that as a baseline. Keep in mind that you may be running the game but you are playing it too. If you aren't enjoying it, you can talk to your players. As with all things in life, communication of feelings can help come to understandings and generate solutions to make you all happy. Happy gaming everyone :D @vulpesfluxus (DM)
