Mahagenco fly ash evacuation: EOI hardwires scale filters and bans JV bids
Mahagenco has issued an EOI for lifting and transporting dry fly ash from Koradi and Khaperkheda thermal plants.
The eligibility criteria reveal this is not a general contractor tender — it is built for large bulk logistics operators.
Key filters include ₹500 crore turnover, utilisation of 25 lakh MT ash from two plants, loading 365 rakes annually, ownership of 100 bulkers and 100 tippers, and established cement/RMC customer networks.
Joint ventures and consortium bids are banned, preventing smaller players from pooling credentials.
The agency must also build evacuation infrastructure, arrange rakes, ensure MoEF compliance, and operate round-the-clock.
With a 15-year tenure, subsidy-style bidding, and penalties for underperformance, this is a tightly structured bulk evacuation mandate.
