The Plane That Couldn’t. A trip to Nelson was thwarted by bad weather and visibility. JetStar didn’t help much either. After circling Nelson for a harrowing 45 minutes (complete with a screaming child), the plane diverted to Wellington. Long story short, at 4.40pm, the promised return flight was cancelled, and JetStar would fly us all back again to Auckland from where we left at 9am. Uncle said it made no sense, demanded a refund (grudgingly given, in 10 working days, mind). And re-booked a flight with Air New Zealand, at a fare that would have taken him halfway to Sydney. After having airport food all day, a treat at Little Penang on The Terrace awaited. He had the Nasi Lemak with Nyonya Curry and vegetable fritters. To say it was traditional would be pushing it and Uncle was in no mood to be magnanimous. The Kuih Talam might have helped but it didn’t. #flyingblues #nasilemak #nyonyacurry #kuihtalam #littlepenang #theterrace #wellington (at Middle Earth) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bzd_F8gJai9/?igshid=mzyv0jpyakgz
