In this #airship #pendrawing by @rb_sketches_and_ships we find an old flying ship, battered from years of use, full of patched holes, rusty edges, and (based on the artist's caption) the memories of several generations of the Carvalho family. Oh, and apparently a blind ferret... because that's what every airship needs, right? @rb_sketches_and_ships did some great work detailing the planks on the hull of the ship, and I love the design of the engines. There's a real nice subtle different between the details to add an aged look to the ship and the darkened spots to signify shading and shadows. While it does get kind of muddled where those two types of detail run together, I think that's the point... sometimes you just can't tell if something is dirty, or if the lights aren't shining properly. My guess from the amount of smoke spewing out of those stacks and the "hazy" background, dust and dirt and "age marks" are probably on every ship sailing through those skies. But you got to take your freedom and sky flights when you can get them, right?
