IM NOT OKAY ABOUT FULL METAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD
⚠️SPOILER WARNING (Full Metal Alchemist and My Hero Academia)⚠️
I don't understand how some people are satisfied with the ending to 03fma???? Like??? Damn why y'all want those boys to suffer so much. Personally I think the ending to fma:b is so much more structured, well thought out and just... good. And happy. THOSE BOYS DESERVE TO BE HAPPY OKAY. Also Hiromu Arakawa is a goddess and her work is incredible.
You know, I just feel so bad for hohenheim
I mean, leaving his family was hard, so hard that he couldn't even look at his son as he left but he did so anyways to try and figure out a way to protect his family, only to come back to find that his wife's been dead for years and his sons ran off to join the military after burning their house down and mutilating themselves while trying to play god, I mean seriously. That is the absolutely worst thing I can think of to come home to. I can't even imagine how that conversation between him and panako went. How he was so calm with Ed after had found out all that had happened I have no idea.
Just a thought
Ok so something's REALLY been bugging me about Fma03 lately. In general, I like the series, but I do have some issues with it. But, seriously. *sighes* HOW COULD ED AND AL NOT RECOGNIZE THAT SLOTH WAS THEIR REINCARNATED MOTHER?!?!?! I mean, they're freaking identical! Ed's like, "I noticed the resemblance." Are you kidding me? Ressemblance?? It's your own mother you doorknob!!! Ok, I'm done.
So let’s talk about episode 29
Ok first of all, HOLY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT BATMAN!!!
There is seriously so much subtly in character development that happens during this episode, and it’s done so gently that I didn’t catch half this crap the first time I watched it.
1. We see more EdWin development. (Ed freaking out when Bradley tries to use her against him. The phone call. THE WAY WINRY FREAKING CRADLES THE DAMN PHONE)
2. We also see more Royai backstory. (Rica breaking her composure when Roy finds her and then formally correcting herself. SOME REFERENCE TO SOMEONE TELLING HER NOT TO GIVE UP AND WE ALL KNOW WHO THAT IS)
3. The whole clusterfuck that’s Greedling (LIKE LING’S STILL IN THERE AND WE ALL KNOW WHERE THAT’S GOING)
4. Ed trying to figure out how Scar and Mei used their alchemy when father cancelled their’s out
5. Marcoh promising to tell Scar about Ishval
And that’s just some of it. I’ve heard some people complain that episode 29 is just kind of filler/nothing much happens, but it’s EXACTLY what the show needed to justify all the shit that goes down in episode 30. It’s so flawlessly set up that you don’t even realize how perfectly the wheels are set in motion. It’s the freaking perfect breath of fresh air between two pretty intense episodes.
The writing in this show is a damn masterpiece.
*deep breathe* Ok I’m done.
Time for a FMA rant...
I've been thinking a lot about Maes death since re-watching brotherhood. I think what gets to me is that he was the only military character (that we really got to know anyway) that really had his life together. He had a wife, a daughter, and basically a life outside the military. (Yeah Roy and Riza have a thing but I'm staying away from that tangent.) Also, out of all of the Ishvalan war vets, he was actively taking on a case that was revealing important and damning information about the homunculi and understanding/preventing the deaths of state alchemists that he respected and worked with everyday, something that could and does turn the power structure, the military, and all of Amestris on its head. This is not to say that his life or pursuits are more important than any of the other characters, but he was incredibly important. He was the last person anyone wanted to see die. He was the one who "made" it. And yet, he does anyway. His death is true to the character of the show, but damn does it hurt to watch.
Mother's Day
Yes yes, Mother’s Day is depressing for the FMA fandom. But I honestly don’t think the Elric brothers would be that upset.. I mean, wouldn't it be OOC for them to mopey about their mother’s death? They don’t waste their time being upset over things from the past that they cant change (at least when they grow up). But also, just take a look at Al! He is basically a male version of her. He’s sweet, caring, and has a big heart, just like his mother. He also never gives up on anyone, just like Trisha never gave up Hohenheim. I dunno. I just think the Elric brothers have a lot to celebrate when it comes to Mother’s Day.
