Fuck imagine just.... being Ling.

Like imagine being a minor prince of Xing and the Yao clan and then going “huh I wonder what I can find about this alkhestry thing in this foreign country so I can win favor in my clan” and then when you visit you immediately stumble into a lethal top secret operation within the military government where they commit grave sins against the natural order by creating impossible abominations called homunculi using human sacrifices and also quickly coming into contact with a military alchemist who’s the top of his class and also 15 which is just a little younger then your age and he also has a brother who’s soul is bonded to a suit of armor and hey the older not metal armor one is kinda cute would you look at that he’s so flustered when he gets angry that’s adorable look how short he is hahaha but anyway the two brothers are secretly trying to understand the secret conspiracies in the government from the inside so they can unravel the mystery and regain the bodies they lost by attempting to bring their mother back to life when they were like eleven and also there are these immortal-ish beings called the seven deadly sins which is a totally western concept and when you think about it in retrospect makes absolutely zero sense but everybody just sorta goes with it and through all of this you quickly realize that you could probably cause a straight up war between your country and this one and your guards are begging you to return home or stop investigating this or do literally anything else but you just. you just kinda. you just kinda go with it. Like you just shrug and go “shit happens, seems legit, let’s figure it out!” that is absolutely wild. Ling is the real MVP, no fucking restraint at all
