This is just a very quick procrastination doodle but omg I never realized just how much I needed Rose wearing Winry’s jumpsuit in my life up until now.
This is for shits and giggles, as I want to see who people pick. [Spoilers all the way through. Overexplained with certain context omitted in case someone who hasn't watched fma03 comes across this.]
London Ed:
You're living through WW1, another bloody air raid is happening, and then suddenly your body is taken over by some bloke - the fcker below - while you're still fully conscious and aware of everything that is happening which means you have to sit through this guy getting into an argument, dealing with some unprocessed grief, with his father(?) who you personally know. Then the git goes for a stroll during an air raid in the complete opposite direction of any nearby air raid shelters - you're likely thinking "What is he doing???? Is he lost???" - finds himself at a house where it just so happens that a burning German zepp crashes onto that exact same house a few seconds after, crushing and killing the two of you. All the while you can't even decide how you spend your last moments. This is his only relevance to the narrative and he gets one line. However, for someone with a much more optimistic ending in the end..
Edward Elric:
- He's 15 and thinks he's Icarus. He would kin him if he knew what that was.
- The ep. where has to grapple with his morality is also the ep. where he's 12 and is trying to survive a slasher film along with his childhood friend of the same age. This has irreversible ripples on their relationship.
- A group take his younger brother hostage and threatens to kill him if he doesn't kill a bunch of people so they can be [fantastically] harvested. He also has his own reasons on why having people be harvested would be the holy grail to him achieving his and his brother's goals. He ultimately doesn't go through with it, but does question himself on if he should've the very next episode. The brother's fine-ish btw.
- He's Victor Frankenstein but if he was conceptually a shounen protagonist and The Creature was his mother than some guy. He digs up his mother's grave. His relationship with his brother is never quite the same after they argue about whether or not they should kill mum. He kills his undead mother while trying to rationalise to himself that it's finneeeee because she's undead. She's not actualllly his mother. She's not actualllly human.
- Though nothing ever comes of it, his dad's shitty ex - who is genderbend Dante Alighieri - wants to revenge fuck him because she can't deal with not getting what she wants and controlling, manipulating and grooming others - especially those of an oppressed class - children in this case - are the only things she's good at. When he objects to being seduced and isn't making for the most interesting "debate" partner, she oneshots him to WW1 to prove a point ig
- He's died and been resurrected twice (as in he has one-up Jesus at that. Oh. yeah. Christianity is a dead religion in his world.): the first time see above, the second by his half-brother immediately after he learns he's actually a middle child while his younger brother looks on, unable to do anything (there's promo art which exists where his half-brother is posing with his corpse like fishermen do with their catches to post on their dating profile or wherever else). He also tries to ultimately kill himself [under a fantastical lens] to bring his brother back to life, as his brother killed himself to bring him back. Truly a "If my brother’s dead, I am not alive. If I’m alive, my brother can’t be dead." moment here from both individuals.
This is the kind of dynamic where he has had to be physically dragged back from jumping out of a moving locomotive & off the roof of a multistory hospital to go after his younger brother. Absolutely zero self preservation.
- He lives in Munich for a few years
- It's implied that he's drinking himself blackout each night by 18. Likely Munich has something to do with this. Fucking Munich.
- His half brother isn't satisfied with simply killing him* but now has moved on to try to vore him. Their deadbeat father lets himself be vored by said half-brother right in front of him. His father is very much aware of his presence to make matters...
*What is this obsession with fratricide? Well, he was abandoned by his creator/father, seen as an abomination, and decided to make it the brothers' problem despite the fact they were also abandoned by the same fcker lmfaoooo.
- The animators frequently animated him suffering or getting beat up, see these compilations: https://www.tumblr.com/calangkoh/163034312375, https://www.tumblr.com/flamealchemist/767894621544202240, https://www.tumblr.com/pandacea/42529135115.
