Thinking about attending one of the many festivals in my FMDR........ the candle light, the carved pumpkins, the dancing! And of course, grabbing all the food we can carry and running off into the forest with a friend, the music from the festival still playing in the distance. <-goddd I miss him (guy I have never met)
•The Forest engulfs the entirety of the town I live in
•The Forest changes shape, moving paths and landmarks like a rotating maze
•The people who live in the town, and those who come to visit, all carry enchanted talismans that help guide them through the forest without getting lost.
•The fae live deep within the forest, but rarely bother anyone- they are content to live their lives separate from ours.
•The forest is alive, and it reacts kinder to those who respect it.
•When the forest likes someone, it follows them. The oldest witches in town who have the best relationships with the forest are almost always covered in some form of moss or foliage, and their houses are practically indistinguishable from the forest itself
•The forest will only consciously take people if they choose to go, unless they disrespect or insult it.
•I specified consciously, because the forest may very well swallow any Travellers that manages to get lost.
•the trees in the forest are ancient and massive. They tower high above the head, and they cover the sky, casting some parts of the forest into an eternal night
•Many locals have set up pit stops throughout the forest. Small camps with free-to-grab snacks and basic materials.
•Caves full from ceiling to floor with massive, naturally formed crystals appear randomly throughout the world.
•These crystals all have different magickal uses! Depending on the crystal, they can be used for anything from protection magick, to curses, to blessing, to elemental or weather magick!
•Some crystals are more common in certain areas than others!
•Where I live, protection and weather crystals are the most common.
•A common use for crystals is to create windcharms! Protection crystals, if treated properly, will vibrate aggressively, cause a great deal of noise when used in a windcharm, when danger approaches!
Headmate started telling me about their DR and oh my god I am in love with it. I dont want to say too much right now BUT it is based in/next to/around a GIANT mystical forest and it's ALL about magick. It's definitely a more dangerous DR but trust me it's so worth it......
Hi there! We are really excited to officially share this project. Last Spring we were a part of a small group of fellow @Monmade artists & designers that were the inaugural #FMDR Fallingwater + Monmade Design Residency. (If you scroll back a bit you’ll see some photos from our life-changing weekend there in April 2019.) • . Our Residency task was to take advantage of unprecedented time in both the wonderful #Fallingwater house built by #FrankLloydWright for the Kaufmann family as well as at the divine High Meadow retreat, all to find inspiration in the home, grounds, and objects there so that we could create exclusive new products for the Fallingwater Museum Store in the 1st FMDR Collection. • . We were inspired by so many things, from the famous kettle, to the abundant wildflowers and plantings around the house, to a beautifully designed #FLW fire grate. Swipe through to see some of our pieces and product forms, all available exclusively from the Fallingwater Museum Store + for a limited time via the FMDR Exhibition! Details for the Exhibition are: . . Falling Water + Monmade Design Residency Exhibition Opening is this Friday 11/15 @brewhouseassociation Gallery at 711 South 21st Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15203 6:30 PM – 9 PM • . And for more info about the Collection & to see the entire body of work, check out the @visitfallingwater account and website too! (Onsite 📸 by Michael Savisky.)
