„I have predictions. But I don’t want to make them public until they happen.“
As long as she stays far away from the Immortal Universe I have to admit that I don‘t care about her roles. I watched Territory in parts and her big episode of Family Next Door only to see if i like her as an actor. I don‘t. Her Territory performance especially was hard to watch…
I really hope that the majority of Sam‘s fans get to a state of indifference as described by various posts today. I never got the hype. But I think the only way to stop her from dragging Sam into this mess is by ignoring her posts altogether. I quit IG completely, so I found my own radical solution to more inner peace. Tumblr is on thin ice too… 😬
I hear you. I would rather see people get to a state of indifference, and not be so upset one way or the other. None of this is that deep.
Honestly idk how theyll make a season 2 of family next door seems it got wrapped up storywise 1st season like whats there to drag out?
(spoiler: Teresa palmers found out her missing sister was pips character and pips characters didnt care that she basically was abducted and asked her not to press charges against the mom)
and honestly i feel like thats a problem in all Australian media ive watched they rush their storylines in one season. and when it comes to the next one its a bunch of things mashed together to just drag it out i felt like they kind of did that to newsreader which sucked because the forst season was so solid and couldve gone a different direction if only a certain plotline hadnt been insert but whatever its over.
Is that because they are trying to create drama? Or is it because they get scared they won’t get renewed?
I read the possibility of renewal in an Australian TV blog. But it wasn’t confirmed. What’s with all these TV shows with 6-8 eps? 😭

Is he really ‘taking’ her if she is literally in the cast and would be there anyway? The wording implies special access, but since she’s a cast member, her presence isn’t contingent on him at all.
Very true. She’ll go 100%. His attendance probability is closer to 80% depending on this TVL obligations. They are certain to join a group or be between TNR and TFND
she feels ready to stop playing the young girl at 31.
Did she actually say this blog owner? Because if so then why has she accepted two roles recently where she plays a teenager? I have to side with the anon and agree there’s posturing going on.
That was my takeaway, but she already had those gigs when she said it. She was emphasizing the FND gig where she was playing a parent.
After a COVID career setback, the 30-year-old star of The Newsreader and Territory appears in a new ABC drama based on a Sally Hepworth best
I don’t think she should turn gigs down until she gets to the point where she has enough to make choices.
Some notes to add on intimate scenes Pip has been a part of that I watched when I saw the entirety of her work:
In Limbo - She had two "steamy" scenes with Ryan Corrs character (btw he was in bloom with sam) in the first episode they makeout outside a bar they're kissing and yeah its basic nothing that makes her seem sexy just a normal encounter with the situation given in the show. Then the next steamy scene ryans character had just had a funeral for his friend played by Bob Morley from TFND. She tells ryans character shes sorry for how she acted beforehand as they get closer she does that glassy eyed stare she always does trying to emote depth or something but it felt flat with the situation. Theres a cut scene and Ryan and Pips characters are in bed again a standard after the deed scene they're kissing and cuddling. Again nothing that screams sexy on her end not going to focus on Ryans chemistry with her because this is about Pip but yeah it just looked like standard chemistry this is what has to be done. For the adults here (I hope we all are btw) think of the most basic sexual encounter you've had with someone and yeah just apply it to this scene because that's what happened basic not sexy just there.
The Family Next Door - So this scene wasn't so much sexy to me just more about a woman finding her sensual side after having children. Which I will get into more afterwards but in the scene she stares at herself in the mirror after a hard moment earlier in the episode and gets close to her on screen husband and says in the most unsexy tone she thinks she wants to have sex. As his character touches her breasts she's telling him she's sensitive because of breastfeeding i assume so he touches her down there and she gives what I believe are supposed sexy satisfied faces but honestly its giving the same look she usually does in a scene where more emotion is needed. I think this scene was important as it is something many women face after having children finding their sensual side after the matter but i dont think Pip executed it as efficiently as needed and those glassy eyed stares she does consecutively don't help.
Territory - So Pip's character Susie is dating this other guy who is played by Joe Klocek. There's a fight between Joe's character and some other guys in a bar. After the fight Pip and Joe's characters go into a car and do it. She's on top and again with the weird faces not of pleasure or seduction just awkward and there but she did try to look in charge when beforehand she pushed him against the wall and kissed him but nothing that made me go ooh like angelina Jolie does and im a straight woman but if anyone can make a basic steamy scene look wild and hot its an angelina jolie type and Pip is anything but. And then there's a scene where they makeout in a lake. It was a little passionate but not sexy.
Newsreader - That infamous scene...yeah...I think Territory so far has had the best if you can even call it "steaminess" with her...this was just awkward and try hard and the way she tried to dance sensually all over sam as dale was just for lack of better word bland. It's like if you gave the most sexually awkward person the word sexy to play out this was it and also sam didnt look that into it even as dale sometimes when actors do those scenes you see a bit of their real self slip through even though the act itself in front of people on set is weird in it of itself, ive done acting before so i know this for a fact and yeah that was as bout as dry as the sahara...did someone mention she was a venus in scorpio? I see none of that in her even irl. I feel like the after of that scene was top knotch though because sam as dale got out of bed so quick next to her to go practice what he was going to say instead of staying there and that looked so natural in comparison to the scene beforehand lol.
My final take on Pip's sexy scenes: She just doesn't have that aura/vibe about her. I think this is why she is where she is acting wise because unfortunately people do want to see people who have that aura about them and she simply doesnt have the look, vibe, or presence for it. That's not necessarily her fault some people just are that way but it's funny to see it when sam with all his introverted and shyness have eons more sexual vibes to him.
💀💀Thank you for this descriptive analysis, Anon.
Thanks, Anon.
Can she really feel bad when her future is brighter than ever?
Lmfao, yes? Two things can be true at the same time: She has been busier than she has ever been this year, which must feel good (and is backed up by that interview she did where she confessed there was a period where she was disappointed about not landing any role) + she’s disappointed she didn’t land any solo noms for her work from a prestigious award ceremony, which is something we’ve seen her work for in the past weeks.
I’ve noticed she tends to hype up the Australian scene as this niche underdog capable of producing gems in their own right (as opposed to, I presume, the US or the UK). And while it might be true to an extent (and is true for any non-US/UK market, really), Australian talents still export *really* well and I don’t think you can just waltz into the Aussie scene like that and expect flowers after one busy year. Sam was able to do it with Lambs of God but he was already pretty seasoned from his UK days.
Pip’s performance aside, I’ll say the role of Essie definitely was material that was award-worthy. Kay’s wasn’t fleshed out enough for it to ever happen, IMO. Idk about that GCBC role but it seemed very small too. If she lands similar roles to Essie in the future (complex, polarizing, etc) and works even harder to make them compelling and memorable, she’ll eventually get her flowers. Expecting it for this year’s AACTA was optimistic and there’s nothing wrong with pointing it out.
Yup. Now if FND has a second season, then there’s an opportunity to keep digging in and keep trying to make it happen.
