                 ~ Review of Soap & Glory’s Purifying Foam Cleanser ~

At last, summer is almost upon us. I know it’s not the summer we had all planned and things are going to look a lot different to our usual holidays, but we can still dream of better days and hot, summer nights. This also means we need to have a few, handy products to help ease us into the warmer climate. Extra humidity, sweat and heat can all contribute to more breakouts, oiliness, shininess and just that general ‘yuck’ feeling to our faces. So it’s important to tackle this head-on with the first step in your skincare routine - cleansing.

I’ve been using Soap & Glory’s Purifying Foam Cleanser every day, come rain or shine, for just over 6 months now and it’s a great way to wake up my skin in the morning or to sluice off the day at night.

What attracted me to it is the fact it’s straight up foam - only one or two pumps is needed to lather up my whole face. While my skin isn’t that oily on the whole, I do love a good foam cleanser to make sure every scrap of make-up and grime is washed off after a long day. I usually use this cleanser as part of my double cleanse to make sure my skin is totally clean and refreshed for the next part of my routine. 

This cleanser contains witch hazel and salicylic acid to ensure a clean, clear and healthy complexion is achieved. It’s got a lovely, cooling feeling on the skin and doesn’t give you that tight feeling some foam cleansers can often cause to sensitive skin types. That being said, I do think this cleanser is best suited to those with oily or combination skin types who are prone to breakouts as it might be too strongly fragranced for those with more delicate skin types.

This bottle lasts for ages and gives me the feeling that my skin is a clean canvas for all my other products to go on after using it. It’s £8.00 and a fab way to enjoy a grease-free sunny afternoon ☀️

Gonna be getting into this lovely product by NEOGEN, how it’s working for me and what two other people had to say after using it. Let’s get started!

This cleanser’s top ingredient is fermented green tea extract and can brighten, calm, and hydrate your skin. The foam cleanser works to remove impurities like sweat and dirt effectively without stripping your skin of its natural oils.

The caffeine found in green tea can aid in tightening the skin, and since Polyphenols helps fight free radicals, which weaken the skin's elasticity. Spf is also important for your skin, while green tea won't be able to replace your daily sunscreen, studies have shown that applying green tea can help protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Green tea probably won’t magically photoshop away your scars or hyperpigmentation, but it can help to minimize and even out inconsistencies in your skin tone and help clear it up. While most acne products tend to suckup our natural oils, green tea stops the production of excess oils by reducing the production of sebum, while leaving our natural healthy oil production intact. 

Moringa Seed Extract

A flower native to parts of Africa and Asia. Packed with 90 nutrients including 46 antioxidants and an abundant amount of minerals. Moringa minimizes breakouts, wrinkles and helps guard against pollution. Full of vitamin A; which is what retinol is derived from. Moringa is also full of vitamin E, which is great for dry, flaky skin as well as other environmental stressors. Moringa is packed and rich in nutrients, such as; calcium, vitamin A, B, C, D and E. Minerals like copper, iron, zinc, magnesium, silica, and manganese. 

Papaya Fruit Water

Papaya Fruit Extract has skin whitening abilities due to the exfoliating and skin lightening effect of the enzyme papain. Papain enzyme restores the uneven-tone of your skin by accelerating the shedding of dead cells. It’s also good for repairing aged skin but helping reverse the aging of the skin by repairing, exfoliating and hydrating. Papain enzyme is seen to reduce wrinkles by modulating the collagen and elastic fibers. It’s also a good source of moisture and vitamin A.

Orange Fruit Extract

Jam-packed with a multitude of anti-aging ingredients, most importantly being vitamin E. Orange extract has a gentle astringent property that helps to relieve ance-prone skin, helping to reduce sebum, blemishes, dark or age spots. Any discoloration is helped by orange as it has a mild bleaching property. Orange peels contain a high amount of citric acid, makes for a good aid in skin brightening. 

Texture

The consistency and texture of this water-based foam cleanser are simple and fluffy as it should be for a foaming cleanser. In the bottle, it simply looks like water and green tea leaves, but once it’s pumped, comes out as a nice fully cloud of purifying brilliance. 

I absolutely love the scent of this cleanser, with hints of citrus and that wonderful clean smell of green tea, makes for a relaxing cleansing experience.

First skincare post here

My current routine has changed a bit though. The face wash and lip sleeping mask (not pictured) are the same. I actually restocked on the face wash recently and bought two more. Also ran out of serum, but am unsure which to get. Any suggestions?

Toner: I️ wanted to try this new one since I️ recently bought it over the summer. This was before I️ actually restocked on the toner in my first post haha. So far for this toner I️ don’t really see any difference, so I️ don’t know. Probably won’t restock and will switch back to the Mamonde one once this empties up.

Moisturizer: I actually emptied up my old one and decided to get the Nature Republic Aqua one instead. I’ve been eyeing for a long time and finally bought it not long ago. I️ will update again and write a more in-depth post about the toner and moisturizer later after longer use!

Black Monster All-in-One Foam Cleanser

So this is my, admin D’s, current skincare for oily skin. I’m mainly targeting my oiliness, pores, and blackheads. I like to keep it simple for myself too. The water blending lip mask is just a bonus since I like to wake up with soft lips. Sorry for the poor edited pic, I couldn’t find a nice place to take a pic of my stuff lol.

- Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam Cleanser So I’ve only used this for about 2-3 weeks but so far I don’t have any cons about it. It’s basically a foaming cleanser where you lather into wet hands and then apply to face. I apply it on my face when it’s dry to get the tightening and tingling effect more. I do like that I can feel it tightening up my pores, and washing it off with cool water gives it that astringent effect.

- Mamonde Pore Clean Toner Got this in back Dec/Jan so I’ve been using this for more than six months now. I like to soak a cotton pad with this and mainly apply this into my t-zone area. My nose and cheeks too since that’s where my skin problems are. For me it has reduced the amount of blackheads popping on my nose tremendously, but for my pores I feel as if they're the same. I don’t know really, maybe they are more cleansed and small now but I can’t really tell. In my opinion I like this a lot though so I’ve recently just bought two more bottles.

-Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Cream This cute little moisturizer is so nice. It’s like a cool smooth gel moisturizer that isn’t heavy at all. It’s actually very light and it feels great on my oily skin. My pores don’t feel clogged and I don’t sense that heavy product feel after applying it. I like to dab a bit on each corner of my face and rub it in even onto my neck, it’s a cool feel but leave my skin also feeling kind of matte but soft.

- Nooni Water Blending Lip Mask Basically just a lip mask but it smells so good in my opinion. It has Apple water in it which is probably the smell I like lol. I usually apply this on after skincare and sometimes again before bed depending on when I sleep. It has helped keep my lips moisturized every morning. For now I like it but I’ll likely be switching to the Laneige lip sleeping mask after I’m done with this.
