What’s a Filipina immigrant got to do in Houston? To find love? Seek opportunities?
I’d like to know as well. My curiosity brought me to the official book launch of Rainne Medonza’s: Fobolous.
What is FOBOLOUS?
Fobolous is what you call an immigrant with unfathomable resolve and inner strength, who never gave up despite dealing with homesickness, exhaustion, disappointments, rejections, starting from the bottom, discrimination, freezing weather and doing piles and piles of laundry and more house chores after a 12 hour shift at work.

The sakura are just lovely and pink on the book cover. <3
The book cover got me even more curious. But what amazed me more is the fact the author, Rainne Mendoza is a fellow Filipino who’s based in the US that pursued her writing career.
By far this is now my second time attending a book launch event of a local author. But this is a milestone for me since this is the first time for me to be invited at an RSVP event as a blogger. :) <3 Thank you Lord for this opportunity.
Since this is my first time at an RSVP event, I commuted to the venue 3 hours earlier than the designated time. (LOL!) Mainly because I’m not good with directions and that I easily get lost. Even though according to Google Maps, A SPACE Makati is just a cross Greenbelt 3.
Luckily, I got to the event safely after a long, winding and adventurous walk in Greenbelt for 2 hours. Tiring! But all of that faded away when I got to see A SPACE’s office space.

I was WOWed!!! <3 This, by far, is the coolest office and events space that I’ve experienced in Manila. :) No wonder it was tagged as on the Coolest Offices in Manila by Spot.ph. When I have my own publishing company alongside with in friend, I’d definitely keep in mind A SPACE as one of my go to offices. ;) As you can see in the slide show, INSPIRATION is everywhere there!
At 6 in the evening, I proceeded at the Art Gallery Space where the Book Launch will be held. BEHOLD! Snacks, dinner, desserts and iced tea. <3
Hmmmhhmm~ <3 Good food!
Food and music for ambience, while waiting for Ms. Rainne to arrive. I got to create new friends. <3 (Yay!!!)
She’s a fellow blogger with a brilliant mind and a beautiful heart plus a fellow book-worm, say hello to Rowena a.k.a. Walk With Miss Piggy. Check out her blog on this link. ;)
The selfie is a must! <3
Plus a few more photos before the
Plus a few more photos of the book stand before the authors arrives and settles in.
And Ms. Rainne arrives!!! (Gahh! <3 Fangirl mode on!) A book reading was given by the Author herself plus four of her closest friends. The book reading did the trick! It got me more interested in reading the book and giving a review. Soon, I’ll tell more about #Fobolous. ;)
Got my book signed!!! <3 If it’s not obvious enough, kinikilig on my photos. LOL!
Overall, the Book Launch for Fobolous is a success! It’s such a wonderful experience to be part in making one of a fellow Filipina’s dream come true as a writer. She is such an inspiration and it’s refreshing to know that it is never too late to pursue your dreams, Thus, I won’t ever forget the words she told me:
Hope on your plane of dreams. Don’t stop writing.
