The road that he had taken on the way to becoming Emperor of Grannvale was paved with blood and dirt. He’d lost his adoptive father for it. He’d lost his beloved little brother for it. He’d lost Sigurd for it. To make his ideals a reality, he’d sacrifice anything... He’d never wanted to hurt the people that he’d cared for, but fate had other plans for them all. His own happiness hadn’t mattered; if it meant an end to discrimination, prejudice and injustice than it would be selfish of him to hesitate in striking whoever stood in his way down. Only he could fix things. Only someone like him, trapped in as tenuous a position as he was, born with both holy and unholy blood, living with as much torture and torment and hardship as he did, could truly understand what it was the people of Jugdral needed. He didn’t appreciate having the culmination of all his hard work be mocked openly to his face.
The meteors had been necessary. The Battle of Belhalla had been NECESSARY.
Sigurd had to die.
