Wildly aware of the fact that there was very little he could say without sounding enormously hypocritical, the Doctor settled (for the moment) on a raised eyebrow in Romana’s direction. Turning back to the scanners, he double-checked the work she’d done.

“Full coverage,” he said, more than a little awed. “Well, full as you can get anyways given the shape of the universe, but it’s not like they’ve discovered the way around that just yet. This’ll keep them out of this corner of the galaxy for… well, for as long as they can keep those satellites powered. And it doesn’t leave them too isolated from the neighbors. Soon as the Daleks get bored of hanging around, they’ll still be able to come and go as they please. ‘s too bad other star systems don’t have technology like this. It’d stop them dead in their tracks a lot better than some of the other defense systems various planets have tried over the years. Even if most of them have forgotten why they needed them in the first place.”

While the Doctor had done what he did best- annoying and foiling the plans of the pepper-pot-like warmongers- Romana had set to work developing and implementing a way to keep them out of this sector. He’d bought her all the time he possibly could, distracting them with setbacks galore. He’d really learned how to annoy a Dalek in his lifetimes. And she’d succeeded. With flying colors. Not that he’d expected anything less, but the work she’d managed with the technology that these people had was, in short, extraordinary. But it had clearly taken its toll, as evidenced by the drooping eyelids he saw when turning back to Romana.

“C’mon you,” he said, gently taking her arm. “You’re always telling me off for not getting enough rest. Time I returned the favor for once.”

What book did you last finish? When was that?

BOOKISH ASKS FOR MUNDAY || Accepting

I finished reading Early Riser by Jasper Fforde while I was working nights a couple of weeks ago. It took me like a month to read it because of work and my body clock being so off. But it was lovely! It worked great because the premise of the story is that it’s set in an alternate universe where humans migrate in the winter and the main character is part of the Winter Counsel who are a select few who don’t hibernate in ordered to keep others ‘safe’ while they sleep. So it was super fun reading about a character who had to stay up while others slept --just like I had to in my situation!

1. Do you ever doubt the existence of others than you? I’m not entirely sure what this is implying but i don’t doubt the existence of others or myself. But if you mean do I doubt there is extertestrial life? I believe there is some form of life out there, there has to be. The universe is a big place and we can’t be the only ones in the universe :) 

2. On a scale of 1-5, how afraid of the dark are you? ; 0. The dark doesn’t scare me. 

3. The person you would never want to meet? Donald Trump. Though, when I was in L.A for Gallifrey One this year, my friend and I did the walk of fame and saw his star smashed up for good! (I believe they had to replace it like three times because people kept smashing it up.)
