So... remember how I talked about Yandere Wriothesley? In >this< post? Yeah... I decided to take a crack at the idea and made 3 routes. The first two I think I gave him yandere vibes, but the last not so much in my opinion but I kept it in.
It the usual Exile au setting.
An injured and betrayed Furina!MC in chains, thrown into a boat, and banished from Fontaine in some crude sense of Justice because of her 500 years worth of 'Lies'.
But she's barely on Sumeru soil, having only stumbled off the boat and onto the beach, when she hears heavy footsteps rushing up from behind her and large hands grab her, covering her mouth with a scented cloth-
She blacks out... and wakes up in a comfy bed, chains gone, bandaged and clean (Where were her clothes?! Why was she wearing just a large shirt-)... And not alone.
Sitting quietly beside the bed was Wriothesley. The Duke was watching her with a intense gaze... He... He almost seemed... pleased?
He was the one who grabbed her, having separated from the crowd and tracked her boat to Sumeru soil, and stole her away to his personal home that was far from the hustle and bustle of the Court of Fontaine.
He claims he was NOT going to hurt her, that she didn't deserved what had happened to her. He claims he wanted to help her. So, he brought her here where she can be safe and secure.
Furina!MC, of course, didn't understand, as she was still heavily traumatized from the brutal betrayal of Neuvillette throwing her away so violently-
She was scared. She was still stuck in a nation she was no longer welcome in and would probably be executed if she was caught-
She didn't want to die! No! No-
But Wriothesley hushes her, gently whipping her tears away, seemingly ignoring her violent flinch at his touch, and carefully pushes her back into the bed, telling her once again that everything was ok.
He would keep her safe from now on.
He wouldn't let her rot out in the wilds of Sumeru, where anything could've killed her or worse since she was a powerless human.
"So be a good girl and stay put. This is your new home now... And I'll take care of you from now on, sweetheart~"
And so, that's how Furina!MC ends up staying trapped in Wriothesley's pent house. Where she would spend her days in the safety and invisible chains of the duke's care.
Sometimes she considers running, because by all accounts, Wriothesley doesn't lock her up while he's down at the Fortress.
But again, she's too scared to leave, cause what if someone sees her-
What if her husb- Neuvillette, sees her?! He would- no. No, she couldn't think about that...
Saying that, she reluctantly stays in her new home prison, and slowly but surely, over the next several weeks, then months... She comes to relax, to even loving when Wriothesley came home.
He helps keep the nightmares away when she thinks about her exile, helps ease the pain of her scars around her wrists and ankles whenever they flare up-
Eventually, when a nightmare becomes too much, she starts asking for cuddles.... Then for him to sleep in the same bed as her so she wouldn't be alone
And only then does Wriothesley know he's won.
Basically a very soft and careful Stockholm Situation, and Furina!MC becomes Wriothesley's secret, stay at home wife.
Route Two - The Focalors Lives au
Unlike some of the other Focalors Lives au, Furina!MC doesn't leave Fontaine.
She still divorces Neuvillette and moves out the Palais, instead finding a small apartment within the Court.
She tries not to pay any attention to gossip, or how people gave her pitying looks.
Or how not even a few weeks after the divorce Neuvillette was holding a wedding between him and his new wife, Focalors.
Furina!MC was invited. ...But she didn't go.
No, she spent it with Wriothesley, who also skipped out on the wedding as well.
The Duke apparently was NOT fond of Focalors. At all. Finding her much too fake-
He had caught her in the streets earlier that day, and invited her out for lunch.
They ended up eating a small picnic outside the court, and far, FAR away from where the Sovereign and Goddess's wedding was being held.
It... it was the most fun Furina!MC had in years.
But with fun, came terror, as recently she starts to noticed some of her things had started to go missing, and now she started to feel like she was being followed.
She thought about reporting it, but then thought against it cause if she reported it, that meant people would start looking at her again.
They'd think she was making it all up, lying for attention, for her Ex-husband to come and protect her, and she couldn't-
...It does get to a point where she does tell Wriothesley, who gently grabs her hands, surprising her as it truly hits her then that the boy she once cried tears for when he was sentenced to the Fortress as a child was truly a man now...
He gives her a boyish smile, promising her he'd take care of it. That she didn't need to worry about reporting to the police or anything.
Those words... they honestly made her worry, but she did trust Wriothesley...
And he did catch the creep! And apparently she wasn't the only victim as the creep had other women's things on his person-
The man yells he didn't do it as he was dragged away, but all Furina!MC could do is shiver and lean again Wriothesley, sighing in relief.
Wriothesley's arm tightens around her waist as she tucks herself closer in nervous relief...
She completely misses the dark smirk on his face as croons out words of comfort-
Completely unknowing to the fact the man that was taken away was innocent. That he never stole all those women's or Furina!MC clothing's.
Oh no, Wriothesley was in fact, the 'creep'. Of course he never took anything from those other women... at least not for himself.
He needed a scapegoat, and that poor sod was just unfortunate canon fodder.
But it didn't matter in the end. Not with a Neuvillette who was foolish enough to look at another woman and not his wife of near 400 years, or the Melusines throwing away their perfect mother figure without second thought-
Wriothesley now had Furina!MC in his grasp. He had her trust, and soon, he'll have her love... he just had to be a patient.
Route Three - Political Marriage au.
New au idea, where Furina!MC and Neuvillette enter a political marriage when the Sovereign first arrived in Fontaine 400 years ago.
Basically, a show of alliance and trust between the Hydro Archon and Hydro Dragon Sovereign.
But the marriage held no love, or at least Neuvillette held no love for his 'wife', while Furina!MC genuinely held affection for him.
They never slept together, much less didn't even sleep in the same room!
So, saying that, it came to no surprise to Furina!MC when the moment the prophecy was avoided, and the Hydro throne was destroyed, killing Focalors, letting Neuvillette return to full power... And turning Furina!MC fully human-
Neuvillette announced that he wanted a divorce.
And Furina!MC... she just quietly nodded, signing the papers, packing her things, and begins to leave.
Neuvillette does say one thing to her as she leaves the Palais.
"You were a... wonderful experience, Lady Furina!MC."
Experience? Hah, what a joke...
And just like that, Furina!MC fades away in the background, disappearing from the public eye as she was now more or less yesterdays news.
She wasn't a goddess, just a normal human woman. Nothing worth paying any attention too.
And Neuvillette? He agrees. He had more important things to think about than a now human goddess.
It didn't matter if they were once married. She was never his actual mate. There was nothing ever between the two of them. Not love. nothing.
...Cut to year or so later, and Neuvillette starts to regret his words.
Because right in front of him, right dab in the middle of grand party with Fontaine's high society and officials, was Furina!MC.
A VERY pregnant looking Furina!MC. Who was smiling and talking to Wriothesley as the Duke playfully kissed her hand... which had a sparkly, Cryo blue, wedding ring on it.
Furina!MC doesn't noticed him, but Wriothesley does.
The Duke gives him a odd look... before throwing him the darkest, smugest smirk the Sovereign ever seen in his long life.
Neuvillette does corner him later on at the party, demanding answers, but Wriothesley just shrugs away his quite frankly jealous demands with another smirk.
"Don't know why you're getting so hot headed over something like this, Monsieur Neuvillette. You were the one who divorced her in the first place... and well, it shouldn't be a shock that someone would come in a sweep her off her feet."
And Wriothesley, with no fear whatsoever, whispers a cold- "And that man is me. And unlike you, I gave her everything she deserved. Love, trust, and in return... I got ALL her firsts."
By that I mean Furina!MC was a virgin. Was in her first life, and she continued to be in her 500 years of being Hydro Archon and Neuvillette's wife... until she married Wriothesley, that is~
And with that, the Duke leaves with those final words, walking past a stone shock Sovereign to go find his lovely wife, and hums a little tune as a angry typhon suddenly kicks up outside...
