#Focusfridays: Finally back in the groove after a 3 week hiatus. Slowly working my way back up. A part of me was missing when I couldn't lift lol... . . Got run down with some sort of bug and other stressors. I had no energy to do anything productive. . Fell behind on my fitness and nutrition regime. Lost muscle and gained more fat...mainly cause I ate everything in sight 😂 But, shit happens ✌. When you fall all you can do is get back up. When we learned to walk we fell more times than not...yet we kept going. So why is anything else we're striving towards any different? Focus on the things that you want and what you're doing well at, and you'll get better. . . Fall down 7, get up 8. . We got this 💋💪 . #Focusfridays: I love quotes so much I started quoting myself (hah) I know this seems counterproductive in this positivity Era where we're told to constantly look at how wonderful we are. And we are. But, we're human. . If we aren't aware of our weaknesses we won't have any way of strengthening them. More importantly your weaknesses can and most likely WILL be used against you. The best way to be exploited IS through our weaknesses. . Capitalism cashes in on this. Create insecurities and shovel "stuff" in to make you "better". People can feed you the things that satiate your insecurities in order to use you how they want. . But, what if you became totally acquainted with yourself? Yes focus on your strengths but what if you gave your weaknesses just as much love. Not obsessive attention, but acknowledge their existence. After all they are a part of you too. . If you were physically weaker in one area you don't ignore it and continue to train the areas that you're strong in. No. You actually spend more time with your weaknesses to correct them and begin to make them your strengths. . The same goes for any of your intangible weaknesses. They have the potential to take you to a level you only dreamed of, if you only identify and work on them. . Better yet, when you are aware of your weaknesses, you are better suited to not be exploited. . So appreciate your strengths...but what are some of the weaknesses that are holding you back, or you're allowing to be held against you? ❤ . #love #selfimprovement #selflove #hope #spiritual #journey #mindfulness #gift #imperfect #igotyou #igotme #empower #Focus #fitness #yoga #liftheavy #girswholift #meditation #health #habit #youcandoit #motivation #quote
Focus Fridays “Storms”
Blessings to you today!
This week has been a stormy week. If you live in Indianapolis or surrounding areas stay indoors and marvel at the unlimited power of our God in creation. Isn’t He amazing?
I would also challenge you on this Focus Friday to learn some real life, spiritual lessons from storms.
1. Storms are coming: No matter what region you live in, know this: storms are coming! For some it’s snow. For others it’s rain. There are even fire storms! In every region and season there are storms. The same is true for your spiritual life. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says,” There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”. It isn’t wise to live this life thinking that nothing bad will ever happen to you. We are promised seasons of tribulation (Job 14:1). Know this; storms are coming whether you like it or not.
2. Listen to the warnings: Storms are coming, but there is technology that can help us before they arrive. Satellites in space have the ability to track storms. Meteorologists use the data from them to predict the path, strength, and type of storm. News outlets and apps are able to provide ample warnings to help people avoid personal injury in the event of a storm. The Holy Spirit gives those who belong to Christ the ability to discern the times. From His vantage point, He can see what we can’t see. Ephesians 5:15-17 says, “Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
3. Prepare for Storms: Take an umbrella. Wear a rain coat and hat. Get to shelter. These are things we’ve heard meteorologists say when weather changes drastically. Life’s storms don’t have to leave us soaking wet and cold. We can be in the storm and still be dry. In Christ, we are covered with His grace, and grace enables us to endure any storm. But we can’t be covered if we aren’t secured by the salvation of the Lord. The scripture is blunt and profound: John 3:16-18 says,” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
As you endure both this stormy season and the seasons of your life, heed to warning signs and prepare for the storms that lie ahead for you.
