I’m generally not too keen on the “heroic dumbass” type (see: Sigurd Chalphy) but damned if as Three Houses go, Ferdinand von Aegir isn’t a beautiful heroic dumbass and I love him for it.
8 & 10, Three Houses. Whatever you feel solid enough to give an opinion on.
Three Houses First!
1. The first character I fell in love with: Hmm. Probably Ashe? 2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: SETETH. Also, Ferdinand.3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Uh... really not feeling the love for Linhardt or Bernadetta. Maybe playing BE route will change my mind. Maybe not.4. The character I love that everyone else hates: I dunno about “hate” but I’m guessing few mainstream FE fans care about Gilbert as much as I do.5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: N/A, I went in with low information on the cast and was mostly pleasantly surprised.6. The character I would totally smooch: ...7. The character I’d want to be like: I kinda envy Alois. That dude is UNSINKABLE.8. The character I’d slap: Uh... yeah no.9. A pairing that I love: Dimitri/Dedue. Also I thought Ingrid/Ashe was suuuuuper sweet.10. A pairing that I despise: Byleth pairings aside I am super uncomfortable with the Felix/Girls supports I have obtained. Can’t say I despise them but I am not very OK with his Ingrid or Annette supports.
I suspect my 19-year-old self would’ve adored Linhardt and his delicacy and his research and been thrilled he was the most romantic M/M option for Byleth and poured all kinds of headcanon-y love into him.
Twenty years later I am utterly indifferent to Linhardt and I’m spending my free time giving fishing gear to Alois and Gilbert.
But you know, I like fishing. :P
Kinda telling that my first actual fanfic plotbunny for FE16 didn’t hit until Chapter 20 and said plotbunny is “Gilbert & Alois fishing misadventure.”

3) I remain thrilled with FEH's depiction of Leif the future "Sage Lord" as a boy who keeps up with his book learnin' as well as martial arts.
4) Nanna as the resident tea server? Jugdrali gender roles strike again.
