As I was Procrastinating™ today I was thinking about Byleth quite a bit. As much as I like Three Houses, Byleth was always a sticking point because she's such a blank slate. I like the lack of customization in 3H and Engage, but I wish they weren't just player inserts. At least Alear is voiced, but that's a digression for another time. This is about the Ashen Demon (such a good name, I wish we knew more about it and haven't played 3 Hopes). Anyway, moving on.

One of the things that always disappointed me was Awoken Byleth, y'know when she unvoids herself and comes back as Sothis Incarnate. It seems like such a waste that her visual design barely changes, her hair glows and her eyes glow. That's it. Now narrative-wise, it makes sense that the transformation is so boring. They can't reveal the Nabatean's draconic transformations, nor Sothis's connection to them. Still, I really think Awakened Byleth could use a more visually interesting change. So I want to give my version of it that I've been thinking about for the past... oh 14 hours or so.

Consider this: her changes are still fairly subtle, its not like she goes full Corrin mode or manakete mode transforming entire aspects of a dragon. I am really thinking her transformation should have been like Natsu's Dragon Force from Fairy Tail because gods damn its so fucking cool. She gets scales, mostly around the eyes, throat, and other potentially vital areas but here or there as well. They're pale scales, somewhere between her own skin tone and Seiros's draconic form. Apart from that her nails get more claw like and teeth sharper, her pupils become vertical slits and her tongue gets longer. Her ears are also pointed like a manakete, and is significantly stronger physically.

I've not thought much beyond this but hey I made a crap edit of Vengeance Vessel:
