Greetings and apologizes if this has already been asked, I'm still new to knowing about the whole AU (which I love, yer writin' is awesome!) and I was wonderin'. If the Player were to be irritated by the group in some way, and normal threats like hurting them wouldn't work, what about ignoring? THey surely would be pretty sad to know ya aren't payin' attention to them. - foganon

Hello Anon! This is an interesting train of thought. I think ignoring the boys would probably do more damage than threatening them, to be completely honest. At least if you're angry at them and telling them you'll hurt them (or even if you physically hurt them in some way), they'll still rationalize it as being good somehow because it's still your attention that they're getting. It's not positive, sure, and it pains them to know you're irritated with them, but at least you're still looking at/speaking to them.

But if you ignore them, it's a different story. They have nothing to go off of; nothing to view as any sign of regard or affection from you. It makes them even more desperate for your attention, and they become frantic with their apologies to you for whatever they did. But you don't answer them, either occupying yourself completely with whatever you're doing or staring blankly through them as though they aren't even in the room. It fills them with an amount of despair, and even fear, like nothing else. They're terrified that you'll continue to ignore them, and even worse, what this might mean for your relationship with them going forward. (How could they be with you romantically if you wouldn't even look at them? What could they do to make this right? Was there even a chance for you to return their love after this happens? Or would you abandon them now that they pissed you off so badly?)

Although for you, you might find yourself feeling pretty conflicted. It's easy to hold on to your anger against them, because in all likelihood it's probably justified. But it gets boring real quick when they're reduced to sad, moping messes; completely devoid of any enthusiasm in their day-to-day lives. (Deimos didn't tell any jokes, Sanford wasn't as outgoing, and Hank didn't even really feel like going on jobs, lacking the drive to go out and finish them. It was a stark change, and it was really weird to see them behaving so oddly.)

Some of them don't even try talking to you, since they think you need space before you're alright again. But that doesn't stop them from sending you desperate, pleading looks when they think you won't notice. Hell, even Doc wasn't excluded from this behavior, which was especially surprising; you'd never seen him act so "lowly" before.

It seems you failed to recognize just how badly they were going to take this. It was almost like you'd flipped a switch in the entirety of their conduct around you.
