What program/tablet do you use to draw?
The tablet I use is a HUION 420! Moons 1-335 were drawn on Krita, and moons 336-present are drawn on Clip Studio Paint :) I use the Milli Pen for most of my line art.
Do you have a preferred method for people to send in their fics?
Yes I do! Submissions are open on my blog for this very purpose. Send in your fic with the title of it as the header, and the rest of it under a readmore, to make it easier for people to scroll through my blog. Either that, or post it on ao3, and send me the link!
How do I send in art/fanfic if I want to remain on anon?
Submit it or send it in an ask as you normally would, and make a note for me to leave you on anon. I'll post it with credits to whatever name you want to use!

Did you know your bio is spelled wrong?
Yes. It's a reference to a post I made when this blog was a lot younger! I was extremely tired at the time, and I didn't remember making it when I woke up, but it was funny enough that I made it my bio. Also it's true.
How do you keep the motivation for this blog?
I have autism
decided to do some clangen fanart of a few blogs that inspired me to make this one!! there is going to be like. a Lot lot of tangenting abt them under the cut but it was really fun to draw all of these cats :) definitely going to do some more in the near future after a few blazingclan moons have been posted!

Poppyfeather of @fallenclan - surprising absolutely no one fallenclan was the first blog i discovered on tumblr that was doing consistent clangen content that WASNT just yearly speedpaints on youtube. i feel like this clan's comic structure struck a chord with me - simple updates, more detailed story panels when the situation calls for it, and some really charming characters. i feel like there isn't a single cat that's been in this clan that's been completely overlookable (is that a word?) in any way shape or form. kudos to you beetle <3 ANYWAY i want to talk about poppyfeather because it was actually really hard to pick a cat i liked best to do fanart of but i went with poppyfeather because i really like how seriously she always carries herself LOL. i also love that she seemed to only get tougher after she unfairly met an end at ravenshade's talons because he was grieving the loss of family and decided to just take it out on her (and also get leadership so he could protect his remaining family sdkjhgdkjgh). she's also just got a really fun color palette hehe
Lyrestar of @moons-of-dewclan - this comic's artstyle is genuinely beautiful and i feel like it informs the overall themes and tone of dewclan in a way that. uh. well it's just Really Beautiful and i like it a lot. the background work, font choice, etc. - everything feels deliberate and it really immersed me in the moons i did read. i'm also really sorry to hear about what happened with your computer :(( that genuinely sucks and i hope that at some point you are able to find joy in potentially creating something new akin to what dewclan was. lyrestar is simply amazing, no further notes. he's the right amount of sopping cat energy if that makes sense. i also just really like his overall design
Clickertrail of @webbedclan - MYTHICAL homepage pull as of recent. i ADORE the theming of your clan overall and im super super excited to see where it goes from here (definitely not biased because i love old technology / webcore / etc no not at all hehe). i really liked all the cats and while errorknoll stood out to me a lot i couldn't help but do a little doodle of clickertail. he just looks so mischievous AUGH and in general i just love every cat's overall design and how they're informed in both name and design elements. so yeah im kinda repeating myself a bit but i CANNOT WAIT to see where this clan goes eheheehhheh
Stonespider of @vespidclan - im a sucker for horror elements (its a bit of a guilty pleasure for me) in works and in general i just adore how unique the entire lore concept of vespidclan is. i really don't think i've read anything else quite like it and in general i love the way the angst/drama is written in terms of dialogue. stonespider's overall confrontation scene as well as her design really stuck out to me, in general i really adore the design element of Obscured Face so i hope i did it justice in my take
Siltsplash of @loudclan-clangen - hands-down some of the best dialogue/scenes and pacing in any clangen comic i've seen. this is also another clangen blog where every character really does feel memorable and has a place even if they're not often at the center of what might be happening in that moon or scene. also the artstyle is Scrumptious. ANYWAY siltsplash's been my favorite since i started reading this comic and in particular one scene that really resonated with me was their argument with owlstar because on one hand yeah owlstar really screwed up but i genuinely could feel how much siltsplash was hurting at owlstar's mistakes. like. how else do i describe pain being made tangible thru art??? idk. anyways i love them so so much i really hope they dont suffer any more (they probably will
Mousegrove of @sporeclan - I LOVE THIS BLOG'S ARTSTYLE! also love the simple yet fast-paced style of moons - it feels like there's so much happening at once and yet so little. also the vague drama of this clan is SO so good i adore how it's more a matter of show don't tell with these cats. mousegrove stood out to me from the moment that it seemed all but confirmed that she's a murderer and checking back it still feels as though nothing has come of her decision (yet) but i know for a fact when that news finally gets discovered it is going to be So, So Good in terms of angst and drama EHEHEHE. she's also got such a fun color palette? girlie looks like a chocolate truffle.

I've been thinking of redesigning Spiderhawk .... so heres her in a bunch of comic styles like I've been seeing other people do :^)

(BarnClan - Basically, this is a comic I have drawn pages for but Im still not sure I want to actually make. But some of the cats are barn cats so I decided she can be one of those, and she keeps her name. I chose a style I liked for it so I decided to throw this one in for fun.)
(Also while I'm here I guess I should mention Spiderstar's Web is what I named her story. This is just her in my style.)
PatFW ( @barrenclan ) - I have thoughts about Spiderhawk in a barrenclan/patfw au. At first I thought maybe she would be part of the clan then joined Defiance but I think it makes more sense for the opposite to happen. So, Spider Hawk :^) Shes a little extra torn up to show that off but this was mostly just for the style ,,, probably my favorite comic Ive read actually !! It was fun scrolling through the comic again to get an idea of the style.
@fallenclan - Fallenclan !!! I think this is might be the first Clangen blog I followed. I'm not sure I nailed down the way Beetle (comic author) does fur patterns, but I'm fairly fine with how the lineart came out. Also, I renamed her Spiderfoot because I am not sure -hawk is a suffix clangen uses?
Times Carcass ( @times-carcass ) - I was gonna do Meandering, but because all the rest of the styles would be warrior cats or at least feral cats, I decided to do this one instead. Basically, anthro Spider au :^) I lowkey think I didnt do a good job capturing the style, urgge oh well I think its good enough you can tell it was at least inspired by the style used in the comic.
Her name was my favorite to come up with.. I wanted to do something spider related but I couldnt find a good S name, and I wanted her initials to be SH. Cause warrior name. Anyway I settled on Scarlet because in her story, her kittypet name was Ruby. Scarlet, Ruby, close enough theyre both red. Her last name is less interesting, its just Hawk with an E.
@vespidclan - One of my favorite stories for sure. I love the use of the game code as a horror element... anyway, Hawkwasp :^) I changed her name entirely because "spider" is a fairly important name in the comic so I figured she needed something different. Spiderhawk's actual name is already a reference to the spider hawk wasp so I basically just shifted her name over a word, lol. Although I'm not sure I did a perfect job, I think I did decent replicating the style.
What Lurks Beneath ( @whatlurksbean ) - I like to try and keep the "left one place to join another" in Spider's lore, so I figure she'd maybe be one of the Daisys that joined The Family when it was offered. I was gonna call her Spiderfish, but since she would probably be a Daisy I decided to name her after a spider instead of a fish. I pondered a wasp name, but Tarantula seemed more fitting for a tropical island. Something about her looks kinda odd but I think its just because I didnt shade these and this comic usually has pretty heavy lighting conditions (something I love about it btw, I love the sunny scenes especially, they are absolutely gorgeous)
Our Clan ( @our-clangen ) - I was originally gonna give Spider a power of some sort but then I remembered that she joined BogClan as an adult and I would be carrying that across AUs where applicable. So no powers for this gal! If I were to give her something it'd be like. Spider fangs. Hence the name I gave her for this one. :^) I wish I had more to say abiut this one because I do enjoy the comic quite a bit but alas
Forget Me Not ( ComicFury ) - I have regretfully little to say about this one. I love the comic a Lot though. I'm also glad the style was kind of easy to replicate, as easy as it ever gets anyhows. The hardest part was trying to find a reference for how the comic artist (Nitteh) would draw scars 😭 I was rereading the comic to see if I could find an example but I lowkey forgot what I was doing halfway through and just read the comic again. This is also the first comic that I couldnt find a cat with 4 colors (the rest tended to have 3 max with the exception of extra white if the character has it), they all seem to be either 2 or 3 which is an issue for Spider, who is Famously 3 shades of brown + 1 shade of white. So I either break the design rules I observed or I just color her as if she'd been made for this comic specifically. Ive already been redesigning her for every comic, so the latter is is!
FlareClan Is Rotting ( @flareclan-is-rotting ) - You just gotta love a zombie story. Her name honestly couldve been left alone but Spiderbite was ironic enough that I thought it'd be funny. I again have little to say but I do want to mention how awesome the armor and weapons are. If I had room I would've designed Spider a kickass sword. Anyway, I knew going into this one that it would be difficult for me personally because I Never do lineless art like ever 😭 But honestly it wasnt as hard as I was worried itd be.
Saltburn's Clan ( ComicFury ) - I can't actually remember if there are any kittypets in sbc but I am pretty sure rogues/loners do exist (although they dont show up in the comic iirc? its been a while since i read the comic from the beginning), so I guess she'd come from there. I renamed her Tarantulahawk because it feels a little more specifically desert-y than Spiderhawk (also I couldnt do Hawkwasp because that cat already exists lol). I think shed end up in SaguaroClan because based on the map its the first clan a cat would encounter if they walked out of Vegas and just straight into the desert.
Waves Always Crash ( @wavesalwayscrash ) - I wish I had more to say about this one too, but I was head empty and tired of drawing at this point. I can talk about her name though! I know not everyone in the comic is named after a bird, but a not insignificant amount of the ones that we see are so that was the direction I took. I was gonna find like a spidery bird name, but I settled on Hawk instead. Its a bird, and they eat sparrows sometimes. Wink wink. Plus hawk appears in her normal name anyways. Anyhow, neat comic! While I'm here I can say: I love the backgrounds in this comic. They are so, so pretty.
I wanted to do more styles than this. The grid originally had 15 squares but I underestimated how hard it is to draw 15 headshots. I already respected comic artists for their dedication but I appreciate it even more now, thats a lot of drawing :'^)
Couldn't think of a better way to spend my day off than to try this out!!! It was a ton of fun; especially since I tried to stay as true to lineart and coloring styles as I could!
