🔥 - So, I don’t really know how unpopular this is, it feels like every time I go on the dash it seems like Tumblr is having a tug of war on this issue, like one day I will see posts circulating that encourage you to think bigger for AU’s and threads and go beyond just a ‘another Coffee Shop AU’ (their words, not mine - I like Coffee Shop AU’s personally.)

Like I said, I do see some posts stating the exact opposite but I suppose I just thought I’d reiterate it here - it’s okay to just have mundane threads.  I can understand why you would want to plot out something that’s big and wonderful and unique to both you and this other mun but a lot of these AU’s or plots also seem to involve a lot of brainstorming or careful planning, time perhaps, or even the right chemistry with the other mun maybe.  If you can get all of that to work that’s awesome but for muns you maybe haven’t had a chance to get to know as well or especially with everyone being pretty demotivated and busy due to COVID currently going on, it can honestly be hard to sit down and map out a ‘big plot’.  Some of you guys have even had to hear me say that I keep meaning to get to server stuff or plotting again and life just has a way of getting in the way sometimes - it’s nobody’s fault, you can’t control what happens in your life and what your mood might be and honestly if you don’t feel like writing, then I say don’t write - don’t quit writing but if you need a day off or three, then take those days off.  If you just want to talk to your friends on Discord about whatever or just goof off and game with them then do that.  I feel like some people and I’m guilty of this as well - kind of have the perspective of thinking of our drafts as kind of being like our ‘homework’.  I’ve definitely felt the crunch when it comes to drafts that I need to do.  Nobody is actively pressuring me or breathing down my neck, it’s just something that I feel and I know that I’m not alone in that and again, this sort of thing is nobody’s fault, the stars just really haven’t aligned for 2020.

But I guess what I’m getting at is that - it’s okay to just do small plots.  Like, I honestly love threads where Ryuji can just shoot the shit and talk about life, about sports, about his dreams - maybe have a conversation with another muse.  Or maybe there might be some light background goings-on, like them going for a walk or playing a sport or even just having a coffee.  There’s no shame in wanting to write what might be considered as ‘boring’ and ‘mundane’ and honestly who cares if a Coffee Shop AU has been written 9999 times already - I guess mine will just be #9999,1.

Also for the record I know these sorts of plots don’t appeal to all muns for whatever reason and that’s completely fine, I do understand the satisfaction of actually wanting to plot something out or have an overarching story.  I’ve just always kind of felt drawn to the more ‘mundane’ and ‘everyday’ threads, to be honest.  Partly because I’ve just never liked action threads and also partly just because of bad experiences with Skull and I know not every mun shares that opinion and that’s okay! Posts like this are just meant to be honest and I’m always down to plot or brainstorm, I just feel like it’s also okay to settle for some small stuff too.

It takes a lot of self control not to fret over Kirigiri too much in her recovery. Makoto knows it’s the last think she’d want from him, not wanting to be perceived as weak in any way. All things aside, he’s still impressed that she not only figured out the game, she gamed the bracelet too. Not that her incredible mind is new information by any means, of course. 

Still, he can’t help the huge, bright grin that overtakes his face when he sees her in the doorway to the headmaster’s office. It’s a strange kind of nostalgia after all they’d been through. Kirigiri looks healthier, and she’s walking just fine, even in her usual dress. 

“Good morning, Kirigiri. To what do I owe the pleasure?” Any formality to his words is likely ousted by the way he plays them up, standing to greet her. “I’m a very busy man, you know. But I suppose I can make some time for you.” He always will. They both know that.

“Murder lives forever, and so does war.” Not often was Junko this serious with her classmates. Really, she tried her best to keep up her persona of a mean, but mostly harmless blonde that had no intent on burning them all down.

Something must have happened today. Maybe something not so sweet. “It’s survival of the fittest. Rich against the poor.”

         “I mean... we’ve been doing better on the island... Not many have shown signs of waking up yet, and well, we are doing the best with the supplies given to us by you and the others... It just bothers me that I don’t feel like... I’ve done enough.”

“K-Kirigiri-san?” Toko’s voice wavers less these days, betraying her anxiety less, but speaking with confidence continues to be a struggle. Kyoko is much more capable than her - much more cut out for all of this, she thinks.

She plays with the hem of her shirt, thinking over her words carefully. Gah, this is why she likes writing! So much less pressure, no forgetting in the moment what you even wanted to say. 

“May I sh-shadow you for a bit? I w-want to be more h-helpful to the Foundation.” It’s a hard stick to her pride, admittedly, but after everything with Towa, and the rehabilitation of the Remnants, all she wants is to be useful.
